W. W. 2 Restorations. Vehicles and Equipment.
United States
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 19 ก.ย. 2011
The videos contained in this channel are examples of how a person could repair and service broken and forgotten vintage military vehicles and equipment.
The truck I am restoring is a G-7107, Chevy 1&1/2 ton 4X4. It was built in Oakland Calif. in Oct. 1942. I have restored a 1943 T-24 Weasel, a 1941 Dodge 1/2 ton Command Car, a P.E. 75 Generator and three Ben Hur trailers.
I can't explain the experience of driving a truck that actually makes its' own mechanical music as it's rolling down the road. Even though manufacturers made many examples of the same truck, each one has its' own "personality" and is just a bit different than its' brother.
I believe that it's important that as many of these examples of American History be restored, refurbished and/or preserved in the best possible condition. Because once they are gone, they will never be re-made and THIS part of American History will be gone too.

I actually picked this generator up today, 31 Aug. 2024. (P.E.) = Power Equipment. Production of these little generators began in March of 1943. All of the "early" gens. have cast iron cooling systems. "Later" models were built with sheet metal cooling shrouds to cut weight and save on War Materials. I will be able to find the exact month of manufacture for this unit when I pull the flywheel to...

I purchased a mess of Weasel parts from a good friend who didn't know that he as many parts as he thought. This box was included in the shipment. The was dated 1952 so the even though the carb. is from W.W. 2 era it is not new old stock. No matter, I didn't have one, but now I do.

It's been a awhile since my last upload, so here is a short video to get things rolling again. This is a P.E. 210, I think, and the 4th one I have owned. It needs a good cleaning inside and out, but it looks like it'll make a great keeper.
Cargo Bed Safety Strap.
มุมมอง 90ปีที่แล้ว
The Preservative used on this Strap is a Moisture and Fungal Preservative. It has quite a unique medicinal scent to it. I wouldn't want to breathe it everyday, but it is one of those things I find enjoyable that takes me back to when I first started in the Antique Military Vehicle Restoration Hobby.

Fuel tank looks great Dave 😎👍
You should see the inside for being 80 years old. It is really clean.
Congratulations, my friend! Continue having fun doing what is interesting to you, we'll be here to watch. God bless! ❤😊
I just came across your channel througgh a comment you had made on a Chrystler A57 engine video... I am so glad I saw your profile picture and name and checked you out! You do some really cool projects and restore some azing vehicles! Keep up the great work, my friend, and God bless. ❤
It took me a moment to remember the Multi-Bank video. Welcome to my channel and a big thanks for your support!
Nice find! 😁👍
Thanks Zane. Hows things over at the garage?
@@w.w.2restorations.vehicles698 Oh slow unfortunately 😥
What are you going to use as a gasket replacement? I have some milspec rubber sheet we can use.
Probably going to find an "O" ring.
I need to take my panels down and get them sand blasted
It will look great with paint on it! I have some old cargo covers if you need some winter protection for your projects.
Thanks Mike, they will. That is next weekend though.
@@w.w.2restorations.vehicles698 or whenever it is convenient for you.
Panels look great Dave! 😎👍
Thanks Zane.
neet project; what type of MPG do you get...10, 12.
Thanks for tuning in. The original engine had Babbit Bearing material in the connecting rods, and it made a whopping 8-15 lbs. of oil pressure and would make about 89 B.H.P. averaging 13 miles per gallon drawing from a 30 gal. tank. The 270 I installed has been built. Insert bearings all around, 65 lbs. of oil pressure, 245 B.H.P. versus 99 B.H.P. (stock) averaging 15-17 M.P.G. from the same tank.
@@w.w.2restorations.vehicles698 wonderbar. thnx. I kinda like babbitt bearings. but you do get higher oil pressure and mileage with the modern. If I had the money, space and skill I'd do a project like this
My trailer came with similar wheels I just dumped the air and toss them in the scrape pile.
Excellent video. I have a 64 Divco with rims like this, do you have video of disassembly of ring and tire?
Bitchen! I have the same divided sterilization pan, but i dont have that cool galvanized lid
Awesome find Dave! I have one of these too, and boy do they get hot
Would You like an spare upper windshield and cover Chris? I found the pans and some accessories and don't need/want the upper protion they came in. I remember Cody cooking S.O.S. one morning at a Chino P.F. event, and boy his stove got really hot!!
@w.w.2restorations.vehicles698 Thanks, Dave, but I have far too much stuff!
@@simich6212 No worries my friend.
My suv has piston slap. Kinda sounds similar
How would i find shows and meets like this? I've never gone to one before but i would like to start
I'm binging all your videos on these trucks, soo when i get one i can fix it up. Plus i learn alot from you
2 Months ago i found out about the beauty of old WWII Trucks. been trying to get a CCKW since. Pretty exciting. even had a dream that i had one yesterday. hahah!
That looks like a really good find.
Thanks. I have a soft spot in my heart for military air compressors and generators.
Nice find Dave! 👀 Even have the original wrenches! 🔧
Thanks Zane. I had a few more videos on my SD card, but the became corrupted and just went away. I'll have to remake them and get them on line.
Mmmmm... I can smell that air cleaner oil from here! Tasty!
Colonge for REAL MEN, like US!!
Score! Outstanding N.O.S. tools and parts!
Survivor genny. Jonesy. It belonged to the young mans granddad and just needed it gone. It has been in storage for a long, long time. Great compression, NO SPARK THOUGH.
You were in my neighborhood and did not stop by? Time is running out to get out to the Chicken Ranch to go scrounging!
First, I didn't know that you were in that area. Second it's not far for a return trip. Third, find my email address on my home page here and drop me a line how to get in touch with you Mister. LASTLY, I'm sorry my friend for NOT stopping by. 🙂
@@w.w.2restorations.vehicles698 lol!
@@w.w.2restorations.vehicles698 I sent you a text message.
Hi Dave. Just caught your vid. Really neat bunch of parts you "mined" there. Very cool. Also very cool is that view of Rainier. I've never been up that close. Only have seen the view from I5 while heading up to BC once.
Tonywankenobby! How have you been son? I'm not on the 'g' so much these days, but I still drop in and lurk around to see who's doin' what. Speaking Mt. Rainier, I've been told that when a lenticular clour is over-top the peak, rainfall happens the very next day. And don't ya know these folks here are correct!
Super informative and helpful, I now feel comfortable doing it by myself.
Thank You very much for your kind response, and for watching my video. My intention behind the video was to help someone else who needed it. Good luck and stay safe.
Hey, are those salt/pepper shakers marked or lacking MFG stamping?
They don't have a manufacturers mark. A friend here has 4 small detachment stoves and said this implement went through refits after W.W. 2.
Awesome find! 😎👍
Ohhhhhhh man, can I come over and touch those? I always knew they existed, but have never actually seen real ones
yes BYORF Truck ❤😊1942
Hello from the netherlands i am also having the same little compressor and i am looking for some parts of the compressor i looking for several years but no succes mabye you can help my tanks
Sorry, I don't have spare parts. Didn't your country buy all the trucks and equipment from the U.S. Government after W.W. 2 anyway? There should be some of these air compressors floating around your area.
Tanks for you response back in the early 80 there was a lot of stuff cars and parts for sell but now is it very expensieve and hard to find
Awesome video, thank you so much for getting her away from the crows. For anyone interested: the American raven/crow population has grown 700% in a few decades. They pretty much clean out nestlings every spring while only 20-30% of nestlings get out of the nest. Only 50% of those who actually get out survive the following year. People should always chase them away, especially during nesting season. They eat such a varied diet that it would never hurt their survival rates. Plus, we humans feed them wayyyyyy too much, directly and indirectly.
Thanks for that knowledge. 700% is tremendous growth.
@w.w.2restorations.vehicles698 I love them dearly but they have become a 100 times more prolific during nesting season than housecats, because they're so smart and work so well together as a group while hunting. This spring I saw a group of 10 clean out large tree after large tree by using the screamers to scare the small birds and create chaos for one and nr 2, they're so big and heavy that they just shake the trees screaming until all nests come loose, then the rest of them pick up the chicks below. It became too much to bear so I went after them and have kept them away all spring lol
There are three or four of these in the hanger. We have never fired one of these. As I understand it, the fuel flows on the bottom of the stove, and the fumes are what you burn. The pans are the really hard part to find.
Yes, I spoke with Kirk a few nights ago. Wait, there's more!
Mmmmmm, weasel parts
Awesome cooking set Dave! 😁👍
Thanks Zane. Other parts will arrive Tuesday.
Nice score!
Thanks J.M.E. They were expensive...
I'm glad to see you found some parts Dave! 😁👍 Even better when you can buy some spares. Happy wrenching my friend 🔧🔩
Thanks Zane. These parts are becoming more and more expensive at the days go by.
Get them other pots/pans and practice with boiling water. Then, gravitate to SOS. Hurry up Cookie, were hungry!!! Lol Friday night Fish and chips inbound!
I'm not sure that I want to burn this in Jonesy. But we will see...
this looks like it'd be great for whippin up an adventure feast.
Right You are sir!
Very wll done ..good sir❤!!!
Thanks Rob. I'm just a sucker for a Damsel in distress.
Did a certain somebody get to you about "ruining the originality of the unopened packing"😂
YES. That certain someone certainly did!!! 🤔😄
Awesome find Dave! Perfect place for it in the "service tahoe" Should it have a Briggs ZZ, or something smaller?
This one makes two. About two years ago I bought my 1st. one from a guy in Oregon. It has the original Briggs and Stratton model "N" engine in it.
👍🏻🤞
How awesome Dave!! 😁👍
Thanks Zane, hope to see some more vids from your neck-o-the woods.
Nice score!
Thanks Patrick.
Outstanding. Please save that outer wrapper for me so I can reclaim the cosmoline.
Roger Wilco.
Open it!!!! Mmmm...that "Oversea's weatherproof packaging" smell....mmmm.....tasty!
Opened and inspected.
Nice job. Now I know how to make these for a project I'm working on. Thanks for sharing.
You're welcome.
Nice job well done!
Thanks.
hows the consumption on this thing? was thinking to grab a few of these liquid kits and have been looking for a deal on an H-45.
Neat piece you have there. Thanks for sharing!
What an amazing find. You must have lots of storage space? I have kind of stopped dragging stuff home because I can't store it under cover.
