@the_footballtourist glad you liked it! Forza Bari and keep up what you doing, happy 2025 !
@ I really did! Surprised you found this video my friend it’s nearly 2 years old but good luck with the rest of the season!
Lovely day on the coast to watch football. Spent a few weekends there with my family, as a kid. Reckon it wasnt much of a drive for you this time either. Good to see so many Kent sides doing well in that league also. Lots of local derbies. Thanks for the great blogs. Also good to see Dover doing well, after so many years of going in only one direction
Another excellent blog, and shame you had to experience a 0-0 on a friday night. Looking at Wycombe`s crowds they are not really well supported for their league position. Mind you, if the ground is not even in Wycombe, its no wonder. Am gradually looking at all of your videos, so it will take some time. You witnessed my team, the Gills, the other night. You were a good omen, despite the result. We have a new proper old school manager, to get these lazy wasters, back moving again. All the best Dave
Never heard of the 12 days of Christmas? Only after 12 days after Christmas Day should decorations be taken down.
I have heard of it just had a bit of Christmas fatigue but that point is all. I also thought it ended on the 25th not started! The more you know
@@the_footballtourist I fully understand your Christmas fatigue as it starts so early now, the commercial aspects long before December even. Christmas is meant to be a religious festival celebrating the Nativity that starts on the 25th of December and lasts for 12 days until the 5th of January. You must at some point in your life have heard the Christmas carol 'The Twelve Days of Christmas' where each day has an increasing number of gifts? Of course Christianity hijacked the celebration from the pagans who celebrated the winter solstice, the shortest day on the 21/22, as the planet's rebirth when the days start getting longer again and people knew that summer would return and with it plant growth and the crops that sustained life. Of course Christmas for Gillingham now means the rebirth of the Manager. Bit like when they change the Doctor in Doctor Who. The King is Dead. Long Live the King! 🤣

Brilliant derby, excellent support and brilliant video. I remember going to Aldershot with Gillingham, as both teams played in the old Div4, and there was never any trouble although we were rivals at the time. The ground and fans could easily support an EFL team. Very difficult getting out of the Conference though, as the years gone by have showed. Staying out of that league and not going down from L2 is the most imortant thing, because getting back is almost impossible for years. Personally hope York City go up, but there is the little problem of Mr Vegan FGR this season
@@davidwilliamgay4821 As long as FGR don’t go up I don’t really mind who it is. Looks like neither relegated side will be bouncing back as well which is a good thing for my money
@@the_footballtourist agree, we dont want Mr Vegan back in the football league for a while. No crowds also

@@davidwilliamgay4821 Right you are, although I wish I knew how windy it would be so I could’ve picked a slightly less cold ground. @@hdyby4l930 it’s good to see you guys have kicked on since I came!
Why do they give away fans so little allocation ? Surely for a derby should be more Sevilla fans allowed
@callumkent7155 I honestly don’t know, but usually the away allocations in Spain are small because the league change the schedule so much travelling is impossible. So maybe Sevilla just got what everyone gets?
Enjoyed the video. The away end will remain a running joke for many more seasons yet, though first time this season the scaffolding was open due to it being such a northern heavy league. Our hospitality is really decent for league two so glad you got to experience that as the ground (apart from the scaffolding end) is a pretty good standard for the lower leagues.
@@JamesTingley-c2r I think the away end definitely gives the ground a bad rep and since the Galison’s have come in the match day experience has become a lot nicer (I remember the food under Scally 🥴). The hospitality was very good too overall especially for a league two side!
Thanks for coming. I think from a Borough point of view, we're very good at grinding out results and defensively very good. Unfortunately, when it comes to the other end of the pitch we look a bit lacklustre in comparison to teams around us, with only sides in the bottom half scoring less if I'm correct. But we're on our way to having a good campaign and all we have to do is stay in the mix. 916 for attendance, as you said isn't bad on a bitter afternoon. Glad it wasn't that windy, Priory lane is known as the wind factory. Also, if you haven't already, check out Eastbourne Town and Eastbourne Uniteds ground. As I believe they have changed a lot to the ground since last year. 👍
@pyro7598 My pleasure! Obviously when it’s just one game you can never really know how a team plays, but from what I saw you guys looked very solid and capable of seeing games out which will do you well in the playoffs I reckon. Unfortunately, with the media’s obsession with only the top end of one league, there are dozens of proper derbies* down the pyramid that are completely ignored which in terms of atmosphere beat hands-down anything involving the usual ‘big’ name teams. Not sure I would particularly elevate Aldershot v Woking above any number of others, but it is a good example of a great derby well worth attending if you are a neutral. * Not always near neighbours: Norwich v Ipswich is a proper derby in spite of the distance, Palace v Brighton is not.
@@elaineblackhurst1509 That was more the aim than anything, of course the title was a bit of hyperbole but at the end of the day the atmosphere at games like this have a far better atmospheres than those higher up the pyramid that’s for sure. Whichever is the biggest or best is purely personal preference 😁
@ You’re right, though l don’t think there is any such thing as a ‘biggest’ or ‘best’ derby at all as any derby at any level is most important to supporters concerned, whilst City v Utd, Newcastle v Sunderland, Luton v Watford, Curzon Ashton v Ashton Utd, or any number of London derbies are pretty much meaningless.
