Campfire Chanterelle Omelette and Coffee from Coffee Beans - Easy Outdoors Solo Bushcraft Episode 14
Solo bushcraft overnighter in the forest - making an omelette with chanterelles and ham and brewing coffee from coffee beans over a campfire.
Chanterelle is the common name of several species of fungi. They are among the most popular of wild edible mushrooms and there are many ways to cook chanterelles. Most of the flavorful compounds in chanterelles are fat-soluble, making them good mushrooms to sauté in butter, oil or cream. They also contain smaller amounts of water- and alcohol-soluble flavorings, which lend the mushrooms well to recipes involving wine or other cooking alcohols. Many popular methods of cooking chanterelles include them in sautés, soufflés, cream sauces, and soups. They are not typically eaten raw, as their rich and complex flavor is best released when cooked.
An omelette or omelet is a dish made from beaten eggs, fried with butter or oil in a frying pan. It is quite common for the omelette to be folded around fillings such as chives, vegetables, mushrooms, meat (often ham or bacon), cheese, or some combination of the above.
To make this kind of mushroom omelette you only need some ham, chanterelles, eggs and something to cook them in. First take some ham and rub some of the fat on to your cookware so the food does not get burnt. Then slice the rest of the ham and chanterelles into small pieces, add couple of eggs and stir them together. Put on to a fire and wait until the eggs are done.
To make cowboy coffee from coffee beans you need to make a decent fire. Then you have to boil some water. Put the beans in to a some small bag or a piece of cloth. Tie it together so the beans can not escape and smash them with a rock or hard wood until they are broken down.
Now put the „freshly“ ground coffee in to cups, about two teaspoonfuls for one cup. Add the water to the coffee and let it settle for couple of minutes. Then add a bit of cold water to stop the coffee powder from floating around the cup. Enjoy!
And if you are further interested in how to survive in the wilderness or you intend to advance basic survival skills in nature, check out our channel. There you can learn more about bushcraft camping and cooking over fire, camping tools and gadgets and camp cooking equipment among other things.

do you know what the capacity of the bottle is
120ml
@@unimog-zetros1285 ok so its like one full stove worth of fuel
How long do you leave it in the jar?
For a couple of weeks
A true master with fire, you sure know how to use matches to start a fire. The meat looks so good cooked that way. Good teas also, Thanks for sharing.
Indeed, it took a while to master the matches :D But on the other hand, if they work, why complicate your life with other means? The meat was delicious, the teas were worth trying.
Hello my friend. Nice video. Nice nature. Nice camp. Nice place. Nice 🎶
Thanks, friend. It was a good night out. I'm glad you liked it
Hello my friend. Tasty cooking 😋
Thanks, much appreciated
Good job..❤❤
Thanks!
Good idea 👍
Thanks, works pretty well
好办法!感谢分享和学习了!
What do you do with your tips afterwards? Do you candy them, eat them or throw them out?
You can add them to desserts or smoothies, for example
I started a jar yesterday!
That's great. Hope you like it!
Christ is King! Believe in Him and you shall be saved!
3D Is that right?
👍👍👍
That's right!
Great work sir. Thank you for sharing with us
Thank you. Much appreciated
How does it taste?
A little sour, but refreshing
Tasty 😋
It sure was
Boiling in plastic should be a last resort folks, don't do this shit if you have other means to boil your water.
Sound advice!
Do this if you like drinking plastic. Traditionally carving a wood bowl is preferred (and will not poison you with plastics).
Indeed, plastic is not good. But for educational purposes and in a survival situation it works just fine
@@EasyOutdoors Then rename your videos to last resort survival tips, not "camping tips" SMH telling people to poison themselves with plastics and chemicals as a last resort instead of chancing collected rainwater
Actually, it's a good idea. Thank you!
Nice video
Much appreciated
dont do that
You don't have to, then don't do it
👍👍👍
Thanks

I wonder if sardine can explode too. I usually put it on fire, but now I realized it might not have beeb a good idea.
It could. But if you have opened it up or made some holes into it, then you should not worry
@@EasyOutdoorsI would like to see you make a test, I mean if you ever wanted to make such a test in your channel, it's even riskier since it has oil.
That's an idea. Will look into it!
I use my original ss version but i swapped out the Aluminium windshield & replaced it with the new ss pathfinder one so now i can have a small fire around the windshield & cook on top of it
That's and interesting idea. Thanks for sharing
Always did make good tinder and the stalks make great kindleing

Hello friend 🤝. 👍🥾🍀🏔️🌲. Nice nature. 👍🎶
Thanks mate. Glad you liked it!
Could you make a knife from a can itself rather than just a lid? 😊
Sure, but it takes a lot more effort
@@EasyOutdoors would love to see that sometime! I’ve been trying with things like soda cans but they are flimsy
