I'd like to share my experience on the "STATUS SYMBOL" part STATUS SYMBOL in a good way, not to brag that you have the latest and greatest tech. People tend to judge you in a materialistic manner. When I went to inquire in a Mercedes Benz & BMW Dealership because I'm looking to buy a Brand New Car because I'm doing good in life, I was looking to buy a new car. The sales agent didn't take me seriously and same goes on my experience when I went in a LV store. The Sales person was grumpy and looked me as if I'm a hindrance. I own a Poco F4, a mid range phone I bought a few years ago when I was struggling in my career a few years ago during the pandemic. I just use it for Facebook / Email / Messenger. Just for daily use. But it gets frustrating that people treat you horribly because they think you're just wasting their time because you look broke because you own a Chinese and Budget Phone. Specially when you go to a high end stuff
Better features like no headphone jack, no micro sd, no removable battery
Great video!!!
Glad you liked it!
I got my Fold 5 b/c it's the best phone for me. It's not the best phone out there ; but it is for me. I am never looking back.
What makes it the best phone for you? :)
@simonbernlieger I love consuming media *the big screen is awesome for that ofc. I love playing games and emulating them (big screen plus my GameSir controller ❤️ ) Im always moving files around from phone to PC (the file system on Android is perfection) Im always torrenting and sideloading apps ( 🏴☠️ ) The specs are great! Plays all my games well and many emulated games from consoles up to Switch. Screen is bright and beautiful. Battery is great.
it is crazy that these phone cameras are measuring up to actually really good cameras
Absolutely :o
I recently got my parents a used Pixel 6 in a good shape for less than 120 €. Insane value with 2 more years of security updates ❤
Amazing deal 😊
I hate phones.
I just bought an iPhone 12 mini for £129. It’s never had a single component changed and the screen is immaculate. It does everything I’ll ever need it to.
provided you are ok with the rather small battery the 12 and 13mini are indeed amazing. And 129 pounds is insane value 😊
@ seems fine to me as I’m not a heavy user. I’m pretty happy with it😁
If you keep a watch for 4 years and then buy a new one = your costs are 266 (example from your video) / 4 years. In the same system if you buy a 2 year old watch every year your costs are 136 / 1 year. If you consider this point, your conclusion didn't do the math till the end.
Conclusion: Every 2 years to buy a 2 year old watch is at the first place, but the second place is to buy a new one and keep it for four years.
Interesting conclusion for the 2 year 2 yearold = you need to save 4 eur/dollar per month to get you the next apple watch in 2 years.
ill stay with 00:00
I think I'll upgrade from my $220 Huawei Nova 11i to Something like a Pura 70 or Nova 14 next year too
Great info thanks, new subscriber from Australia 👍🇦🇺
Awesome, thank you! 😊😊
I was using cheap phones for years .P9 lite,P20 lite,P40 lite. I recently just got the Pixel 9 pro XL and its a way more satisfying experience. Sometimes i just open apps and close them for the smooth haptic feedback
This is a high quality channel. I appreciate your videos.
Thank you so much!
Deleted Farcebook over 6 months ago. Its a relief. Dont have deal with people whom I thought were good till I read their post. It feels great to get off people's radars. Stop telling people about yourself what you do ect.. Keep things private to yourself. You deserve that your a human. Ditch all that toxic garbage. Ditch the attention hounds. Ditch the fake people. If someone really wanted to get in touch they'd text or call. Free yourself and take a load off your mind. Like I said above, its a relief. You will not miss out on anything. Stay strong you can delete Farcebook. I did, you can.
Bought a used Pixel 7. Takes great pictures, texting thanks to RCS, Pandora music its free, and google maps.
if they follow you where the hell sick minded ppl go...😅 to whom they would show their illicit nature
It's only a phone cheap or costly does the same
You look like Ed Sheeran ❤
Well, I think you need a lot of imagination here 😂🙈
I once owned a cheap Samsung phone coming from an iPhone, and I can confidently say the experience was frustrating after a couple of weeks. Cheap Android phones with low specs and memory will ground down in performance quite quickly. I hated it.
Apple gives more care for the pro years later… for example ,iPhone 15 pro gets ai an 15 dosnt !!! My old M1 Pro iPad gets AI!!! Hhh it’s like 3 years old … always go for the pro!! 20% difference is nothing
I think it’s about size, I use iph 15 pro, it’s expensive but no one really knows it unless you look closely. An ultra or promax model costs more and draws attention to u in public
This is true. Modern day phones are actually a bargain. I haven't realized that until I saw this video. No longer people have to get multiple items separately like years ago. Good job 👍.
My next phone will be bought used, I'm not going to upgrade for a few years
+the workflow on a Phone camera is SOOO much better! I have a decent camera but I shoot all my YT videos with a Phone, not even an expensive Iphone but a Poverty £100 Pixel 6a lol. Don't really care that the ''real'' camera looks 10-20% better if in the same Time I can produce 2x more videos with a phone :D
80 / 20 rule 😊👍
I wonder what the cost of ownership would be for Buy 3year old iPhone and keep for 3 years
Reselling their "old" phone is how I often hear people justifying buying a new phone every year. But overall they are still spending much more compared to just buying an okay phone instead of buying an overpriced device. Most people only use their phone for some light browsing, social media and some unprofessional photos and they get tricked into buying a phone that is as expensive as a motorcycle or old car
Bought a used Oneplus Nord 4 for 272 dollars. Crazy value
Absolutely, congrats 😊
It might depend on the time and what sales might be going on. I have bought most my phones refurbished. I think I bought my Note 20 Ultra three years ago for $550. I live in the US so sales might be different but my Note 20 Ultra was going to lose security updates next year so I was thinking about upgrading. Samsung offers great preorder deals. I was able to get $600 for trading in my Note 20 Ultra to get a s24 Ultra for $599. With taxes, free buds pro 2, a case, and screen protector the total was $730. I think in this situation it makes sense to buy new but I think it might all depend on time and circumstance. Apple doesn't offer that great of a trade in deal for their devices. It might be worth it to just sell an old device and buy another used or refurbished device.
You probably made a good deal. But sometimes when theres a trade in minimum value or bonus value, it’s often the amount it will be discounted with on sale a bit later, without needing to trade in another phone.
@@PatrikKron I think each country might have their own deal with Samsung but I made my purchase with Samsung directly in the USA. From my experience and research, I think Samsung might offer the best deals with preorder deals when they announced a new release of phone. They also seems to offer enhanced values for their old phones so there is no minimum value for the deal. The value seems to depend on the age model you have. I don't know how they value their phone but I was surprised to see that my Note 20 Ultra which is a 2020 phone valued at $600. I think it might take more work to find deals but probably just looking up used and refurbished route would be straight forward.
This specific case I think you made a good deal. The case I was thinking of was that you could get ~400$ of a Google Pixel 8 a while ago if you handed in your old phone. But a month later the sale price was ~400$ lower without needing to hand in an old phone. So you would be better off selling your old phone and buying it on sale. I’ve seen a few similar campaigns from samsung, but there the value for the old phone was only ~150$ and that’s an amount the samsungs ofter where on sale by.
@@PatrikKron My guess is that sales or deals might be situational. From my research and understanding. If you buy from Samsung, they seem to reward their Samsung customer but giving better trade in value for their phones in preorders on new releases. I think they might want to fluff the numbers on their sales units to impress investors. Google on the hand, their phones don't seem to sell well so I would expect deals and price drops frequently. I haven't kept track on Pixels so that is my best guess. Google Pixels might remind me LG flagships. Since LG had the same problem of selling units. So after a new phone is release you start seeing deals with sharp discounts.
iPhone 6s is going on 10 years old, and guess what, it feels exactly like a current day SE minus the battery life or more powerful chip, it’s the exact same performance, it does anything you’d need a phone to do, and it’s reliable given you don’t push it too hard to where it’s battery will drain (as any phone does and laptops too) it’s seriously something that if apple cared of the environment they wouldn’t of made new se models, they would just take iPhone 6s boards and add some more ram to them, it’d be that simple to keep old hardware up to date, it’s proven by old macs, they run Ventura just fine
Have you ever changed the battery or is it still the original one? :O I agree that most phones today are overpowered for what they are actually used for..
Currently using Samsung F14, got it under 120 usd, great battery, takes decent photos, good display quality, does most of the day to day tasks flawlessly, going great❤
Thats great to hear..never change a working system :)
Thank you for the video. Just upgraded from 11 Pro Max to a 15 Pro Max used one with 99% battery capability. 800€ was a good deal!
Did you need a 15 pro max?
800€ for a 15Pro Max is indeed a very good deal! Congrats!
According to the curve 1 year old Samsungs are great. Falling of fast and still getting 6 years of support is fantastic
one thing that i appreciate about reusing „good condition“ items is that we actually try to preserve anything that we have for last. my iphone 13 still in good condition after buying it new back in the late 2021. i don’t think i need a new one because the battery still good until now. even IF I had to. I‘ll buy prolly 13 pro max. i just need their mobility for their insanely good camera (yes i pick iphone instead because my ecosystem is apple) 😅
I agree..I also have an iPhone 13 personally - does everything I need it to do.
Christ this video was a nothingburger that was extremely padded. You could trim the video to 2 minute while cutting off the entire first 5 minutes of the video as its not relevant to the title/ should have been way shorter.
Every part is relevant to the title. You could also save some time by checking the timestamps in the description and watching only the parts that are relevant to you.
Btw, your moustache is great. Good to see young people with a moustache or beard 👍
Thank you man, a very unexpected but welcome compliment! :)
The biggest issue with buying used is the battery. If you're buying a 2+ year old Phone it will need a new battery. So you can add €100+ onto the price you'll pay all in all. To a lesser extent, import duties and shipping costs will also detract from the bargain. For example I want an iPhone. I've been looking at used iPhone 13's on eBay UK as well as refurb companies. The price is on average around £350 which is €420. I live in Cyprus so to import this, I'm looking at about €30-40 shipping costs. Plus I'll have to pay import duties of 19%. 420 + 19% = €499.80 €499.80 + €30 shipping= €529.80. Then replace the battery = €529.80 + €100 = €629.80 for a used iPhone 13. I can still buy it here brand new for €599..... So in special cases like this, buying used is not always the best option.
Yeah absolutely! In that case it's an absolute no brainer.. I assume there is limited used phone choice directly in Cyprus?
@@simonbernlieger yes. And lots of scams sadly
@@MrOrtmeier Thats a shame..I just looked at backmarket.gr (which should be the best in terms of shipping to Cyprus) and for an refurbished iPhone 13 with a new battery and in good condition you would pay 525€...I still agree with you and think that just getting a new one for 599 is the better deal in this case.
Yo change your channel image with u in black and white and background with yellow or a shocking or a eye catching colour
Hmm yeah maybe the b&w is too dull..
When you say 1 year old iphone, do you mean a used iphone or a new iphone from last year?
Used :)
Great channel!!! 😊Keep up that good work. Cheers
Thank you very much Matej! :)

Not everything you say in the video is true. "Google pixel -> very long software support". Xiaomi 13T and Xiaomi 13T Pro have 4 years of major updates and 5 years of security updates. Same with OnePlus and even OnePlus Nord 4 (not a flagship) have 6 years of security updates. And yep, same for Samsung. In fact, Google is the opposite of the software updates with only 3 years of major updates and 5 years of security updates
From Pixel 8 onwards they have guaranteed Android updates until 2031. Thats #1 in the whole smartphone world. support.google.com/pixelphone/answer/4457705?hl=en#zippy=%2Cpixel-a-pixel-pixel-pro I get what you mean though, that older pixels might not be as good in terms of software support
Xiaomi is indeed banned from working in the us
@@TerrorSyxke The autor isn't in the US and neither am I
@@simonbernlieger Yes, thats only for 2023 and 2024 model but you're talking about older flagships in the video. And it's a shame that it took Google so long to have this support
@@simonbernlieger Plus it's google. You should always count on google cancelling something when they wake up the wrong side. Like popular chromecast. See "Killed by Google"
Very useful Information.
Glad you found it helpful :)
In Australia the price of an iPhone 15 Pro Max is really no different to buying refurbished ($1500 for 256GB in Oct 24) and I've had a great experience getting a refurbished phone replaced for free under warranty so I know what I'd rather do
refurbished no different to buying privately you mean?
Welll you don’t need a 15 pro max, you could get a 13 pro or lower honestly, nothing major changed, and the 13 series has had pretty good battery performance
nice!
