What a terrible hunter that shot the flamingo, he shouldn't be allowed to hunt. He either shot something he wasn't absolutely certain about of what it was, or he was sure but wrong and actually confused the flamingo with something else, or he knew it was a flamingo and shot it anyway. In this case either without knowing enough about their behaviour or knowing about them mating for life. Whatever actually happened, the situation is shit, and he should seriously rethink what he's doing.

Many people still think that the "black panther" is a distinct species of big cats distinguished by its all black coat, which is just not true. The "black panthers" that we see are either leopards or jaguars that have a condition known as melanism, which causes them overproduce black pigments that in turn causes their black spotted rosettes to grow so big that they cover their entire coats black.

I've been studying birds for a long time now. No other kind of animal creates the same kind of dazzling hybrids as birds--ducks and parrots in particular are especially impressive. However, in captivity, parrots are often bred to be pets, and hybrids are extremely popular. Unfortunately, they not in the best shape, and suffer from hormonal imbalances (extremely debilitating in hybrid lovebirds especially) and disfigurement, very common in multi-generational hybrids and hybrids of different genera. I wish people would put the quality of life of their pet over how pretty they look...
