Its amazing how many women have bought into the marketing scam that was started by De Beers who put forward that an engagement ring should be cost the man one twelfth of his yearly salary. An engagement ring is a promise token of marriage that remains the man's property it never was a 'gift'.

It depends , if I wasn’t the first man she slept with in her life the ring has to cost between $1-100 dollars . Or maybe no marriage . But if she is a virgin and kept it to herself over the age 25 then I’ll spend however much she would want , up to 25-35K

In my opinion it should not cost more than 200 dollars. If your networth is less than 3 million dollars in present day situation(combined). If it's more than that then you can spend any amount above $3 million you have. Av house costs $2 million in Toronto and$1 million in Montreal so if you are gonna spend thousands of dollars on ring rather than a mortgage then i don't know what to say. Education and child care will break your back and you will work overtime and relationship with children will suffer. Not to mention any child care fees and expenses. Then 4 years later you will probably see that ring on Facebook market place 🤣. And if you lost it u will cry. Bottom line don't marry a woman who asks for a expensive ring she is not a wifey material period.

im here because me and my fiance are gonna buy our rings. Mine will cost 1K on a custom made 0.5 carat maisonette ring and i already feel like it costs way too much on just a piece of jewelry and im not even a jewelry person. We are able to afford it and i think its a good deal. but the frugal part of me feels wow 1K of apparel on me.

No more than one mouth income men. You don't need to spend 3 month to show your love. If she loves you she will be happy regardless. I think a month if you income is ok. Don't stress and don't get into debt!!! Oh, one last thing. Your diamond ring does NOT increase in value..

Really needed this video. I just got a much better paying job and I noticed I'm spending way more with that extra money. I need to stop spending money on stupid stuff. I really wanna take a proper holiday to Asia for the next X mas break so wanna save. Also to have a rainy day fund. I'm a shopaholic so need to tone it down.

I live below my means here in Raleigh NC.No car payments,low rent $525 for a studio apartment everything included,don't eat out much.I still have to be frugal with my grocery bill especially with everything going up.My biggest mistake is buying vintage clothing on Ebay when it comes to money.Don't have cable.Thanks for the video.

I think a good way to track lifestyle inflation and have some balance is to use percentages, on my case I do 50% living and bills, 30% investment and savings, and 20% fun. I also include in fun expenses the gym subscription, netflix, disney, ps plus etc... This is easy for me to keep track and even when I dont use the complete 20% of fun in a month, I save it or invest it.

you can get a sparking water dispenser thingy. It is cheaper and more environmentally friendly than buying it already bottled. It is exactly the same product (water and bubbles).
