Nets fan here. Yeah, we've been a really odd duck for a long ass time. Right now I'm just excited to see what the future holds. Sean Marks has been a VERY good drafter in his tenure here, and he's not once had a lottery pick. Now that we have our '25 and '26 picks back, I really think we've got some bright summer days ahead. Guys to keep an eye on are Noah Clowney (similar build to Claxton but with a jumper), Jalen Wilson (Summer League MVP) and of course Cam Thomas.

Randle has a player option next year and there is a very high probability that he will decline it. Randle is not a youg player (30 years old) and he will want to try to get a multi-year contract at the free agency. If Minnesota don't want to lose him for nothing, they have to trade him before the trade deadline in february. This year, to avoid the 2nd apron, they would need to save almost 17M$, which will be almost impossible. Let's assume that they will finish as a 2nd apron team. Minnesota mainly need to add financial flexibility for next year as they have to resign Reid and Alexander-Walker. They can propose to restructurate the Gobert's contract (for a 25/30M$ multi-year one) while saving 10M$. They can also trade Randle for expiring contracts and some draft picks. I don't think that a lot of teams will send 2025 or 2026 first round picks for him but they could obtain late first round picks and second picks. Unfortunately I don't see lot of bad teams that are advanced enough in the rebuilding process to want Randle as a second offensive option, except the Spurs. But I don't think that the fit with Wemby is great and I am pretty sure that the deal won't happen. And if Randle wants a 40M$ per season contract, I don't see a single team who will want to invest on him.

i have a random question teams are allowed to hold 15 players and 3 2 way contract players then how does someone signed to the main roster get put into the g league for example like bronny if he’s already signed on the main roster and not a 2 way how would he play in the g league? would they have to sign him to a g league contract

why cant Vando and Rui play together

I can see the grizzlies trade it’s realistic but not for randles role or money, he’s on a two year which is so much more flexible with the teams contract timeline

There is actually a way to trade Randle to the Nuggets, you send AG and Zeke to Wolves, Pickett to (let say) Bulls, and Wolves send (let say) 2 second round picks to Bulls, now i dont think this is happening (ever) but there is a way to get bullyball to the max with Joker and Randle. Loved the second part where you went through each team, would love to see this format with any “trade rumor” around all-stars… I loved the idea of sending him to the Hornets. I see a world where the Timberwolves take a “risk” and trade for Kawhi, if he is “hurt” most of the year and Randle is expiring so the Clips can get a “new start” and clean their books. For the lakers trade - I like the Vanderbilt&Hachimura package. Pair Hachi and Gobert, and then Reid with Vanderbilt…

Do you guys think Julius Randle will stay on the Wolves through the season?

I think that NYK will be the biggest buyout market team… it’s New York so everyone wants to play there, and they are good and need vet players (the same players that will be bought out)… Maybe a SG (or cam Payne in the sg), or another PF… Edit: maybe trade pacome for a vet (high upside for a vet)…

This team has one of the smallest depths in the league. Any 2 injuries and this team is rough.

Do you think Cleveland might consider dealing Garland to Washington? Brogdon might be a good fit next to Mitchell, and maybe you can swing in Kuzma and something for Allen? It’s a bit far fetched but it might serve both teams well

Thank you for pointing out Christian Brauns last name. When he first came to the league I was sure it was pronounced Braun but everyone would say Brown. Not sure why it’s spelled as such but pronounced differently.

I advise everyone to go look at KCP's stats from last year, because honestly what they're losing from him is being overstated.

Starting rotation will be Ant at PG, Shaedon at SG, Deni, Grant and Ayton. Scoot off the bench. Need to move Ant. Ant and Scoot do not play well together. Will need to keep Ayton till at least the trade deadline to get Clingin ready. They will show that Timelord is healthy and then move him. Grant is hurting the development of others such as Camara. So, Grant and Thybulle will need to be moved. Collecting more assets and developing the younger nucleus. Cronin is pragmatic but will get there eventually. I like that he isn't just dumping people for nothing. He did well on the Dame trade. Thoughts? Terry

as a raptors fan i watched your raptors preview yesterday, and have been slowly watching a bunch more. Great work again. They should be OK, but really need to upgrade the SG position or hope Braun takes a huge leap. I'm glad someone else thinks the same way about the Braun-Brown thing 😁. It's always seemed wrong to me... and it reminds me of that Seinfeld character ("Why can't you be more like Lloyd Braun?" - wouldn't have worked as well if he was Lloyd Brown).

I had the nuggets at the 5 seed. Hopefully jamal murray can stay healthy but the nuggets thing is they have to really rely on the development of their young guys. Losing kcp and bruce brown these key depth guys over the yrs is gonna show its toll unless these guys can develop. There starting 4 guys of murray, porter, gordon, and jokic is really good but then after that its a question mark. The addition of westbrook is nice as someone who attack the rim and get guys open however his non shooting ability isnt great for the nuggets.

After checking, that 2027 pick is actually top-9 protected. I don't know what trade brought this pick to NYK but Detroit clearly had no intention of it ever conveying in the 1st round. Unless it conveys to no protections in 2028 (which I dont think is the case). With the Pistons being as directionless as they are, I don't like Minny's chances of ever getting a 1st out of this.

The normal injuries and illness every NBA team goes thru hits this team hard. Tough West, lack of depth may be costly.

I do think the jazz have every ability to suddenly become a play in - 5-7 place there. If we remember last season they went on a massive run at the start. And they have very versatile young players, still with sexton lauri Clarkson Collins to trade if they wanted to have a bigger piece or a bigger future, I can see them if they really buy in, EASILY beating the spurs, clippers grizzlies in playoffs and so they really could make a massive impact on the league

If they can get a player in for injury. They should either get Dennis smith jr or samanic

Ayton is one of the best pick and roll centers in the league. He can pop and a lob threat. CP3 and Ayton were elite in Phoenix. Scoot is the problem he needs to learn how to use screens.

I want to agree with the thought that Hardy will get significant minutes this season but I just don't think he's ready yet. I believe Spencer should get the minutes that Luka isn't on the floor. When Luka isn't on the floor, you would expect the ball to always be in Kyrie's hands to make decisions but that wasn't really the case. The Mavericks let Dante and THJ bring up the ball on a lot of possessions, I feel like Spencer would be great in that role. He's a good facilitator and slasher, better than Jaden Hardy right now. When Kyrie goes out, I think it should be Quentin Grimes or Dante. Both are good defenders and should be good spot up shooters as well. I lean more towards QG because he can attack close outs better than Dante. Dante gets out of control a lot when he needs to put the ball on the floor. Maxi is still the best floor spacing big on the roster so he will most likely be the change up small ball 5. He will get at least 10-15 minutes a game if he's healthy.

They would need to resign Brandon Ingram and that would put them in the same position they were pre Kat trade, from a financial stand point it really doesnt make sense to trade for Ingram. Thats why I believe the Wolves dont plan on resigning Randle. Once he declines his player option they might try to get a sign and trade done to get back something for him now that they would be under the second apron. The full scope of the trade wont be known until next off season but im 100% they dont plan on keeping Randle long term. If they do keep him, the trade would look even dumber than it does right now.

Dick will start at the beginning because Brown and Walters are going to miss at least training camp due to injuries.

The way the team bottomed out was only when Poetl when down with injury and he was critical to them having any D. The way you talk about Scottie Barnes shows that you clearly dont know his game or capabilities. To be fair, you wouldnt know unless you watched the Raptors games. When you say things like "sees the floor pretty well' is so far off its ridiculous, he sees the floor better than 99% of the league and is probably in top 5 in ability to see the floor and have the ability to follow through on with a good pass. At the end of some games Barnes at times would switch gears and look like how Butler switches gears in the playoffs. If Barnes just gets a little better, he becomes all-NBA. Quickly, Dick and Barrett are great shooters, just need to see if Dick can continue what he did at the end of the season. Barnes is like a better version of Draymond with better offense and passing but a little worse D (for now). What they need is to see Quickly and Barnes build some chemistry and then they will be a tough out. Bottom line is that the Raptors are better than the 30 wins that the odds makers predict. This is not unusual, look at the last 10 years and see how the Raptors are always above the win/loss predictions.
