เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 18 ต.ค. 2022
We are Derek and Jonathan! We met in 2017 and have been married since the 4th of July, 2021. After our wedding, we took an amazing 3-week honeymoon road trip through California in a rented Jeep Wrangler from Lake Tahoe to San Diego. That trip, plus many hours of research and TH-cam videos, inspired us to change our life path. In August 2022, we started our new adventure living full time in our RV, as we continue to work our full time jobs, 9 to 5. Our goal is to provide travel inspiration and tips as we discover and explore the most thrilling hikes, adventures, and vistas in US National Parks and beyond. Subscribe to our channel to follow our journey as we post our videos every Wednesday!

Yosemite National Park: Half Dome & Beyond the Valley (Half Dome, Hetch Hetchy, Tioga Road, & More)
Yosemite National Park is easily one of the most beautiful places on the planet. It's one of the most visited parks in the National Park system, and also one of our personal favorites! Due to its popularity, Yosemite has strict seasonal permit, reservation, and timed entry requirements, so visit www.nps.gov/yose/planyourvisit/reservations.htm first to get familiar with Yosemite's current reservation system.
We visited Yosemite for the first time in 2021 for one day during our honeymoon and that single day inspired the entire full-time RV journey that we are currently living. THAT'S how inspiring Yosemite National Park is. Once you see it, you can't stop thinking about it and craving more!
Yosemite Valley is the park's most popular feature (for good reason). Don't miss the valley when you visit! But also, don't limit your visit to JUST the valley. Yosemite has so much more to offer, including scenic drives, more amazing glacial valleys, backpacking opportunities, and lakes.
In this video, we show you the best of Yosemite Valley AND beyond!
First, we scored permits to scale Half Dome and recorded the whole thing, so don't miss this video if you're trying to do the same. In the valley, we also hiked to Taft Point, Sentinel Dome, Upper Yosemite Falls, and enjoyed sunrise at Tunnel View.
Beyond the Valley, we explored Hetch Hetchy, a lesser known valley within the park that is a backpacker's paradise.
We also drove along Tioga Road, stopping to explore Olmsted Point, Tenaya Lake, and Tuolumne Meadows.
Lastly, we'll show you a way to get into the park WITHOUT reservations. The Carlon Falls Trail starts outside the park on the western side (where most people stay), and continues for a couple miles to a series of gorgeous crystal clear waterfalls. Way less people than in the Valley, and no long drive either!
We hope you enjoy this video (please like and subscribe if you do!) and are as inspired by Yosemite as we were.

When was all this taken?
Hi there! This was all recorded in early September, 2023, and is reflective of what the scenery generally looks like around that time of year.
@@derekandjonathan thank you. I am heading to Mount rainier Aug 31-sept 2nd. Hopefully, it’s clear that weekend!

Jack lemmon wackiest ship in the Navy movie
Omg that is a spot-on reference hahaha you're absolutely right 🙌🏼
Hey guys, great video. btw when was this trip? I am thinking of going there in mid June, however the website says that the rim road might not be open by then.
Hi there 👋🏻👋🏽 and thanks! This trip was from the middle of September, 2023. The park doesn't have an official "open" date as it depends on how quickly they clear the snow. Generally, the lodge area and west rim are open first (the entire rim was not even open when we were there due to construction in the northeast section of the park). There will probably still be snow everywhere in June when they reopen. It's supposed to be an incredible time to go!! Enjoy 😊😊
Wow that is beyond amazing and beautiful!
It really is!! ❤️❤️❤️
it's a big dead tree. there ya go🤣🤣🤣
Accurate! 😂 🤷🏻♂️
Hey thanks there!! We haven't played that game before but just looked it up and it looks amazing! We have a PS5 so....we might just have to get this game hahaha. Thanks for the tip!

Too much wind. Cute video tho.
😬💨 thanks for watching anyway!! 😊😊
Thank you for the helpful information. I found out that Big blue bus tickets to Mendenhall Glacier are not available for purchase online. May I ask how you booked your taxi? And how did you get back? Thank you for any additional information!
Of course! So when we arrived in Juneau, there was a taxi pickup area as soon as we walked off the ship. We were quoted a one way taxi trip to Mendenhall Glacier that included the park entry fee. We were planning to call our original taxi driver to pick us up after, but there were a slew of taxis waiting in the park's parking lot so once we were done exploring the glacier we just hopped in the nearest taxi and went back to the ship!
@@derekandjonathan That's super easy! I pictured choas and long lines. Thank you!
@@sungginader2833 it was so easy! You're very welcome, have fun!!

Can you give more info about the Vibe beach upgrade
Of course! Most importantly, the Vibe Beach Club upgrade is only a thing on Norwegian cruises. For whatever reason, NCL is not great about advertising this upgrade. The Vibe Beach Club is only available on some NCL cruise ships (but all of the NCL ships on the Alaska route have it). Each ship dedicates a different portion of its highest deck to this exclusive Vibe Beach Club. As soon as you get on the ship, go to the front desk and ask to purchase the upgrade. On our most recent cruise, we were able to get the upgrade on the NCL app right before our cruise, but every other time we were only able to purchase it once we were actually on board. The cost of the upgrade varies depending on the length of the cruise - it was around $200 for our 7-day cruise, per person. Your NCL room card will give you access to a locked and secured door on the upper deck to an exclusive area with its own bar, its own dedicated bartenders, multiple hot tubs, lounging chairs, towels, and cabanas. You have access to this area 24/7, although the bar closes at sunset. You are literally treated like royalty there, and the bartenders will recognize you and cater to you around the rest of the ship as well. They will remember your names and what you like to drink, without fail. The Vibe Beach Club bartenders are amazing and really add to the entire experience. The bartenders in this position are the best on the ship. They usually get promoted to the newer ships in the fleet after. There's a limit on the number of Vibe Beach Club passes on each ship, so the area never gets busy and you can pretty much always have a hot tub to yourself. With drink service though! If you already have a cruise booked, we suggest you start with the NCL website page dedicated to that specific ship - navigate to the "Deck Plans" section, click on "What's on Board," then select "Bars and Lounges." If offered on your ship, the Vibe Beach Club usually shows up near the end of the list of bars/lounges, usually on Page 2 of the list. This is literally the only section of the NCL website that even talks about the Vibe Beach Club. We supposed they kind of bury it to keep it a secret and exclusive...it works! We hope you have a great trip!!
Thank you so much for sharing! You show me areas that I will never get to see in person in my lifetime… 👍🏻😍🥰🤗
Of course!! It's like you get to come along for the ride hahaha 😊 Thanks for watching 🥰🥰
Looks like fun.

Thanks for the tips! Headed to Utah for a National Park tour! Where has your adventure taken you guys?
We are currently up in Washington state right now. Headed down the west coast as it gets cooler. Stay tuned for more vids!
Love it
Incredibly beautiful! Thank you!
Our pleasure!
I'm wondering why its so hard to hear you guys when you're in the truck?
We use a GoPro Hero 9 to record our videos. The truck is the hardest to record as it catches all the engine, road, and background noises. We'll do our best to get better audio! Thanks for the feedback!
Can I request some shorts on TH-cam? I watch a lot of youtube and I’d love to swipe and see some short BP’s on here 😊 thanks.
Haha. You got it!

Enjoyed your video! Zion National Park is one of our favorites. Southern Utah is the best!
Thanks so much! We loved visiting southern Utah. We will definitely be back to explore more.
Hey, great video guys! Just wanted to ask if you have any advice on training and preparation for this hike. A buddy and I are planning on going mid October to do this exact route. Thanks!
Hey! This hike was definitely a tough one. All we can advise for preparation is having enough stamina and endurance to keep moving. It is 4000+ ft of elevation, so taking lots of breaks on the way up is essential, and also bringing plenty of water. Summer time is not the time to do this full hike. It gets incredibly hot there. But during winter, or in the shoulder season, it is much more manageable to complete without issue.
What Campsite did you stay at? and how was the Road Condition like? Could a Class A get up there?
Hi Mike! A Class A could totally get up there. We went arrived when it was dry, so we had no issues driving 5 mph up the dirt road to get up there. Plenty of 5th wheels and one or two class A's made it up as well. Take your time up the road and the view would be totally worth it!! Hard to explain where, but if you look on a map near Grand Teton, search for Triangle X Dude Ranch. Nearby, there will be a Forest Rd 30310. When you drive in, there will be a map on the side of the road telling you the authorized spots to camp on. Sites 8-12 are the ones you want to head towards.
@@derekandjonathan Oh. I found It already! Sites 8-12 are up top while the lower numbers are, well.. Lower.. hahaha.. I was up there last year for work. Can't wait to go back up with the Coach! I envy you guys are getting around..
