I grew up directly across the street from the first Indian Village Cleaners, on E. Lafayette and Helen street, in Detroit, Michigan. I remember when it was built and my grandfather was the night watchman, (security guard) for the cleaners, when I was a little girl.

I was just telling my daughter yesterday as we rode down Lafayette how my dad used to go to Indian Indian Village cleaners all the time this was in the early 80s that I can remember.

That Royal Fresh Market next door used to be black owned under the name of Metro Foodland. I understand that the former owner was offered 10 years of his projected net annual income to close the deal.

Immediately I got excited because I have been looking for a good cleaners (let alone black owned) for about 3 years. All the good cleaners are gone especially since the pandemic. It's good to know that you didn't just buy the building, but you inherited experience right the building!

I'm so glad to know this black owned business exist. Definitely will give them opportunity. I stop going to cleaners since all the black one closed. I tried a few other but the service wasn't the same.

It’s been a long while since I’ve used a dry cleaning service… As was stated lifestyle doesn’t require the attire tgat I was accustomed to using this service…. But seeing that they do bulky items …. Using them for blankets would be a purpose for me to go here … can’t find the time to go to the laundromat to do those items THIS could be the solution.

Can you say surfside condo collapse 😮 . That concrete is old water has penetrated and the rebar is rusty , how long does concrete last ? This building was built in the 60s and they think 120 million can fix build and complete this project eh 😅 no chance

Ms. Talley, thank you this innovation but the banks and city of Detroit will definitely try to stop or impede your efforts!! They already interfered with Amos West clear water project by doing blatant sabotage his water trailers and the banks & realtors will do the same with gerrymandering and zoning restrictions!!!
