I love to hear people saying that they are getting back to Detroit for the abundance of opportunities, people not from here, or people that fled to the south and other places just will miss out. There’s so much investment opportunity here, Detroit is a huge canvas right now, only true Detroiters know this
I love it as a former Detroiter, I would love to see it get to the point where you won't need those bars on the windows. I would be prone as an investor to build more "GATED COMMUNITIES" so families would enjoy establishing comaraderie's as neighbors. Detroit also must (CAP) the property tax in these communities that are being revitalized and NEVER change it.
Bravo, great job! My husband and I did the same thing in Flint Michigan. We bought 2 land bank houses. They were in much worse shape than yours. But like you said we had vision. Took 3.5 yrs for each house and about 40,000 each house but we did all the work except for the furnace. One we live in mortgage free, the other we turned into and Airbnb. It's also mortgage free. We have guests there now from Germany for 3 months😊😊😊😊😊

@@Last4yearsofTrump Trust me, Detroit, Flint,Saginaw Kalamazoo do not want these land bank house back They make money when their purchased because instead of sitting empty someone is living in them paying the property taxes Did you know even if a house is abandoned and a county takes it over, that county still has to pay Michigan the property taxes. So all those boarded up house are costing the city/county money After you buy and fully pay for a LBH you get the title and go record it and then nobody can take it away from you Good luck

I'm from the area but living in Baltimore now. I was a foreclosure prevention counselor in Detroit back in 2010-2013. It was rough. I wish I would've done less partying and bought a few before I left in 2014. Fast forward now, I'm doing good investing here on the east coast, but I'm ready to get busy back in the Detroit area.
Beautiful renovation. I've been cheerleading for Detroit real estate and neigh'ds since 2008. Loving that people are consistently investing. Curious if the bars on the window will remain once the structure is occupied or will they remain permanently?

It makes it harder to break in you can remove those from the outside if you really want to my grandma had hers on the inside too the only downside is that if a fire broke out you can’t access the windows

The house is nice inside and outside. My only complaint is why are the bars in the inside instead of the outside of the home?
My guess is less chances of someone removes it and becomes a squatter.
