  • A mate and I went back to an area that we worked with our GPZ 7000’s a couple of years ago. We decided to go back using the 6000 with a small coil attached to get into those tight areas that the larger coil could not reach.

      It was a lot of fun. Going out prospecting in the bush with a mate and finding a bit of yellow is what it’s all about.

    Good to see you out and finding a few nuggets Les, That grass and scrub is dam thick, not easy detecting, you did very well, Cheers.

      Hi Peter. The bush is thick. The fires a few years ago gave us a window of time where prospecting was easy. Due to the regrowth, it’s worse than it ever was. As you know, prospecting can give you good and bad days. I was just lucky enough o put the coil in a few spots where there was some gold.

      Good to hear from you Steve. Yes, it does pick up the bits that others leave in the ground. They may be small but it does make the day quite interesting.

      @@lesgold2132 ~Great video! I just recently purchased a new GPX 6000 in Canada here and never used it yet. I contacted Minelab in the USA enquiring about the GPX 6000 Speaker Audio recall and if mine had the "hardware update" on the internal speaker ‘or’ not. I was told by Minelab that my detector has “not” had the speaker update completed. Wow, I could not believe it, it must have been old stock!! Because all new machines have that audio update done now from the factory.
      ~I ordered the ML GPX 17 (17x13) coil for it but it never came yet.
      ~Anyway could you tell me which is the better coil for both performance and smooth quiet running:: Coiltek Goldhawk 10x5 “or” Nugget Finder Xceed 12x7.??
      Thank you.

    • @lesgold2132
      @lesgold2132  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@royjohnson465 Hi Roy. Both are very good coils and run quiet on the 6k. The 10x5 is slightly more sensitive on really small gold but the 12x7 punches a bit deeper and has better ground coverage. You would be quite happy with either coil.

    • @royjohnson465
      @royjohnson465 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@lesgold2132 ~Thank you for the very good report! I also heard that the 12x7 handles EMI “much better than” the 10x5. But if a person is way out bush with very little external EMI chatter in the first place then it does not matter nearly as much.
      ~Some more information from someone:: The field I’m referring to is NOT the geomagnetic field but a 'flux' type field that is resultant from the spinning of the Earth. >>It is present horizontal to the Earth plane. So when you tilt a coil, the field flows into it.

    Nice work there Les.I would be very happy taking those bits home. You should see the number of bees and native ones i have living in an old big tree stump having a ball in my dragon fruit plants flowers early in the morning as they only open at night and close up by mid morning to lunch time. You are one of my favourits to watch. Cheers.

    • @lesgold2132
      @lesgold2132  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Rick, I’m pleased that you enjoyed the clip. It would be a good feeling watching the bees work that dragon fruit. It must be dripping with nectar every morning. The native bees are amazing little critters. I see them occasionally in the summer on the warm days.
