Concern over Linksys Response to Security Issue
After a report came out that certain Linksys routers were transmitting sensitive network information in the clear (unencrypted) during the setup and configuration process, Linksys issued a press "release." It didn't seem to get much attention, and raises more questions than it answers. It's also just weird.
So, I am going to discuss Linksys's response in context with my own experience with one of the affected products.
This is a video discussing my experience and testing with a product that I own.

OK. So after running out of the 6-pack of compressed air that I bought I don't know how many years ago, I decided to give this battery-powered air duster a shot. It works great! There are a few instances where I could see compressed air working better, but not enough for me to purchase more canned air. I also take it apart and test it out, so stick around for that! also white eneloops beats them xD
I ran into a similar issue. A friend had one and loved it. Unfortunately, it fell out of a 2nd story window, breaking the vent side. I went online, found and ordered the fan. Upon arrival and set-up, it was instantly different. His original version (which has now fallen from that height and broken into pieces multiple times) works better than the new arrival. I noticed the shallower usb-c port, then looking inside, I saw that his original has the Arctic Air Pure Chill fan and power adapter, while the new arrival has the "ultra" fan and charger. The new arrival - though the manual and buttons indicate a 3 speed system - only runs at 1 speed, weaker than the lowest setting on the broken original device. I'm to the point of contacting the seller of the new arrival and asking for either a refund or a replacement that works at least as well as the broken device, because we are definitely not satisfied with what the seller sent us
Shame on you :( , the POWEROWL looks almost like Eneloops, sure they should perform almost like Eneloops, why you go down to all these grams and numbers. So many chineese guys pout so much time to produce these alikes.
I am experiencing the same thing with model ZN826E, batteries coming hot and there is no temperature sensor but they do advertise it, i took it apart to lower the amps, on negative side there are four R100 resistors and its value is 0.1 ohm and on positive side each cell have two resistors coming through it, one from the IC and the other i think directly from the dc supply, now i dont know which resistor to change with a bigger value in order to minimize the amperage. These chargers seems really made of good quality but the only problem is the high amperage, if resolved then voilaa, the positive side resistors are 1K ohm and 10K ohms, anyone knows which one to replace would be appreciated. Thanks for this great video
Hi why wont the 757 inverter automatically work first thing in the morning on solar? Can you help please. Anker say they are working on a fix that was 8 months ago
Is this anker powerbank has passthrough charging?
should use a heater instead my fren
How we can fix that silicon part again to plastic ? Which glue needed to fix that? Please reply ..
It looks like they dropped this tool on latest MacOS and it's not clear how to solve the latency now
the good battery that you use , does it have to be nihm battery as well?

how do you remove the speaker

27 degrees here. Mine did the same. I didn't know it needed batteries. So I need to make a call to someone. Thank you.
Please, which is better, Energizer 2300 mAh batteries or IKEA Lada 2450 mAh batteries? Please advise.
Awesome! Thank you.
Thank you for being so informative. If you may kindly shed more light on the pass through charging; Will it work with an AC load like a TV? If solar panel is bringing in 170W of power whilst a 110W tv is connected, will the Anker 757 charge or lose charge in such an instance?
In the particular example you give, the Anker F1200 (757) should continue to slowly charge with that input and output. I might make a video to explain further. Thanks for watching!
I'm not quite sure if this will settle my problem here. I'm trying to connect 3 JBL speakers (two Go 4's and 1 Xtreme 4) to my Macbook Pro (late 2019). The 2 Go 4's have no problems at all, but when I connect the Xtrem 4 along with them they all get out of sync. Any ideas? Thanks!
Does is work with ni mh airsoft battery?
C port wonky (won't charge, discharge, though A's are fine)
I've had Cosori for 5 years and it does maintain the temperature. it won't stay at 230 or what ever temp you set it. that doesn't work. never did. I called support and she said it only shows the temp of the plate. that's what it does maintain the temp in the cup. and after awhile it drops. right now my half cup of coffee is 138 in the cup. the plate says 189.7. and it slowly drops. That's why they give you a lid to keep it hot. So it is not the best. Looking for one that gets hot and stay hot
Use a puddy knife to get behind the plastic clamps holding the top to the bottom. Using three puddy knives will make separating the two halves very easy.
I didn't know where the lithium-ion battery was located, since there were no videos showing a clear view inside of the speaker. Now that I have opened it up, and it's available for the world to see, there are much better ways to open it up, like the one you mentioned.
Hey, are you referring to the PS5 running on the battery backup while it is unplugged from the wall and running on battery? OR are you referring to how the PS5 behaves with the internal battery removed inside the battery backup? OR something else? Trying my best with the translation.
I’ve been using the Anker Powerhouse II 800 for about two years and noticed something unusual. When I wall plug it in from a fully dead battery, the display shows an estimated charging time of 1.1 hours (it actually take that time to fully charge), but it’s supposed to take around 7.1 hours to fully charge. Also, I’ve found that every time I charge it through a wall plug, I have to reset the unit. Otherwise, it won’t charge properly-the middle screen shows charging, but the left side where the charging wattage should be displayed remains blank, meaning it's not actually charging. After resetting, it charges fine, but once it hits 99%, the left side bar (charging wattage) disappears, and it never reaches 100%. any ideas?
Weird. I'll look into that.
@@TheCuriousEngineerChannel I also noticed the output watt-hours are not correct according to the power station's capacity. For example, when the battery is at 40% and the output is 60W, it says only 1 hour remaining. However, it should actually run for at least more than 12 hours. and more, Also, I’ve found that every time I charge it through a wall plug, I have to reset the unit. Otherwise, it won’t charge properly-the middle screen shows charging, but the left side where the charging wattage should be displayed remains blank, meaning it's not actually charging. Thanks for the video - I bought a Raion Power 12V 5Ah T2 F2 Battery (via Ebay) for a really good price. Swapping out the old Leoch battery for the new Raion battery was pretty easy, and the unit is up and working.
I have a Bluetti unit and it has a really annoying tendency to discharge on cloudy days while plugged into to panels. As soon and the battery see's .3 watts, it wakes, however that is less than what the internal electronics consume so the battery can self drain down to zero which is highly inconvenient. I started doing some internet sleuthing and found that Bluetti and Ecoflow have this issue. Anker has "solved" this issue by just abandoning the auto-wake feature entirely. How hard is it to design a circuit that poles super slow and checks if the input power is higher than what the internal electronics consume, then waking the unit?
The whole pack needs "balancing", ie each cell needs to hold a certain charge voltage and all cells need to be in a specific range together..if even ine cell is out but a certqin amount, the rest will.not work Its a safetything.
Hmmm, that's not quite true. The cells in parallel "self-balance" to the weakest cell's voltage. No active balancing is needed there. It's only when you get into cells in series with one another. Perhaps I'll make a video to demonstrate further. Thanks for watching!
Any of those problems, occur with This model ? - Model Number - A1770 UPC - 194644078850
Is there an identifying number, in a refer, to tell which ones are newer. (W/ Problems fixed ?) Amz is selling them @ 40% off. No idea about via Bluetooth controller?
I've found the PH 757 (F1200) or F1500 with the LCD display like the 767 (F2000), have had numerous changes either made to their design or "ported over" from the newer designs. All the part numbers are the same per model.
@@TheCuriousEngineerChannel Thx, Looking real hard @ the Anker F1500 w/ Bluetooth & UPS during Amz prime wk
The quick start guide is worthless. Impossible to 'read'. That's why I am here !
Teardown, yes. Analysis? Hmmm. Is this charger fast or slow, safe or unsafe, good or bad? The interesting thing, which is also never mentioned, is that IKEA recommends you leave the batteries in it to "trickle charge", so you always have access to fully charged batteries.
my msi gf 63 does that too, and that's how i am here.
I just got this exact model powerhouse from Facebook marketplace, it looks brand new and the only issue is that it won’t charge, when I plug it in it shows 78 but then flashes to one percent with the snow symbol, any tips? it turns off shortly after that
Try resetting it? It's too long to post here, but just a quick search of "Common issue & inquiry for 523/533/545 Power Station" should get you there. I don't suggest buying any power station used on any marketplace, unless you can fully test it out first. Perhaps you did. Good luck!
Have you done a LADDA comparison video for the AAA 900s versus the new 750s?
Yes. Link is in video description. Also there is a battery testing playlist.
What is ohms reading 750mah?
It's discussed in the video.
I have the same unit and it works great except my lcd screen is all messed up. Sometimes you can see a full number but most of the time you can’t read anything off it. Do you have any idea how it can be fixed or what I should do? Anker is of no help.
I have noticed this, and looking into what is causing it. If I discover a root-cause and/or solution, I will make a video on it.
@@TheCuriousEngineerChannel that would be amazing. Anker is of no help on the issue and it is only getting worse.
Thank you for your video, even though I only understand 5% percent of it. I have a anker powerhouse 757 as well. I have it in my off grid caravan with a 200w solar panel. It is so frustrating that the battery doesn't charge when I'm not there to push a button to start the charging. I have the most sun in the morning, but I'm rarely there in the morning, so the battery doesn't really charge. It's too heavy to carry home. And I bought it, so I have off grid power. Is there a way to fix this problem? So it charges when I'm not there? It's pretty useless atm..
You might be able to press the display button to "start" it even if it is dark out, and it should start charging once the sun comes up. Beyond that, I have ideas. Nothing to report yet....but working on potential solutions.
I would have used a small diameter seringue with the largest needle (needle is probably optional and the straight cut ones) and there’s also a special type od silicone that can be pealed off forming an actual gasket. There’s lots of types of silicone and the one rated for aquariums is really tuff to remove as it stretches without breaking...lol
I bought this 3 weeks ago on Amazon for $599. Found that you can adjust the screen timeout via the app. I've connected this to my power panel generator inlet box with interlock and tested a few circuits and it worked great.
Thank you. Recycling an Apple box is difficult. Wish they made it easier to do so.
Don't look now but they changed the filter design again, the vertical sponges are now gone and replaced with a weird grid
How do these compare to eneloops batteries. Hear good things about eneloops.
What about using it as a speakerphone? Can you initiate calls with it?
I bought this one about 15 months ago, there was a few hours when the power was cut to the building and when it came back on, the WFI aps I had connected on this unit all blew up. I had another surge protecting device on it. Sorely disappointed because now I have $1600 of equipment to buy back...
That's a real bummer! Might not be of much help now, but the APC has a lifetime connected equipment warranty of like $75,000? However, it seems like it might have been your electrical service connection that "caused" the surge for whatever reason. You can contact them for a claim! We've done it before with our utility provider.
@@TheCuriousEngineerChannelthanks, i will try. They had a line on their website: it is up to the customer to protect their equipment 😢
I broke the C connection once jamming into a bag. I was scared putting it aside for too long was going to break the li-ion cells. I found a 90 degree usbC angle adapter and was able to make it work for a short while, just to use it a few times. Probably should have done that from the beginning. The usb-C in out port is a real Achilles heel on this powerbank. Anker now makes them with 2 I/O ports on newer models.
Thanks for the video, made it very easy
No idea why, I get the error my wireless router is not in rescue mode. Can't flash anything. Using the webgui to flash it says file transfered isn't valid. Doesn't matter what version I use. Openwrt, or tomato or original firmware. All of them say invalid.
