Prayer need not require hominid speech within mind or through the mouth. Just see sunshine and soil and hear wind on n on. Stop talking. Words are irrelevant much of the time. Peace ✌️

3:36 - America’s anger today (as he is putting it) is a result of centuries of Greek dualistic thinking and philosophy. It’s influenced the Western church more than just about anyone cares to admit. Today’s church has lost most of its Hebrew roots (which isn’t dualistic, it’s wholistic).

I have to stop watching political television. Even EWTN television and live radio is often how he describes it-I’m right, you’re wrong. Our whole political discourse is wholly unhealthy, full of hatred, vindictive. No wonder we are where we are. I gotta find those voices who focus on unity, with God and each other. Is it possible? Gotta make the attempt. For the love of God, we have to try.

Contemplation is being deeply aware of God presence in everything we do . Whether washing dishes or washing a child , be thankful you’re alive to do it . Breathe in the spirit of the Divine Embrace , the Invisible, the Immortal God

"Fast Food Religion" is such a great description of the diluted, dull, guilt-ridden version of Catholicism I was raised in. This could not hold up to the view of my developing intellect and I fell away as a youth into a convenient agnosticism. But I sadly threw away the baby with the bathwater. I so much wish I had come across Thomas Keating or Anthony de Mello back then. I and so many of today's youth were done a disservice by The Church and if The Church is to remain relevant and perhaps undergo a renaissance, contemplative prayer will play an essential part.

i once saw an interview with a young man imprisoned for participating in the carjacking and murder of a pregnant wife and mother. The daughter of the victim asked the perpetrator if her mother, dead now for several years, had said anything before they killed her. The young man said she begged to be allowed to go home, but his accomplice, who actually pulled the trigger said no. The young man being interviewed said the woman got down on her knees and said, "I forgive you, and God will too." It brings me to tears every time i think of it. But that woman clearly understood this teaching.

Many white Christians exhibit a reluctance to confront the historical atrocities committed against minorities and non-white individuals by their predecessors. This aversion often stems from a complex interplay of factors, including a desire to avoid feelings of guilt, shame, or discomfort; a perceived threat to their own identity or sense of belonging; and a lack of awareness or education about the full extent of the suffering inflicted. The consequences of this silence are profound, perpetuating a cycle of ignorance, denial, and perpetuating racial disparities. It hinders reconciliation, healing, and the creation of a more just and equitable society. By refusing to acknowledge and grapple with the past, white Christians inadvertently condone and normalize the systemic oppression that continues to plague marginalized communities. Embracing a spirit of humility, empathy, and a willingness to listen to the voices of those who have been wronged is essential for breaking down the barriers of silence and fostering a more inclusive and compassionate society.

This seems like a bunch of fear mongering to me, this seems like a fear tactic to scare people, why do you people judge more than half the human population? Why are you so dogmatic and closed minded? Why are you so wrong about God? Why do you judge people and propagate false teachings? God cannot be tottally encompased in any one book, Jesus came to bring the light, he was forgiving, understanding, empathic, and he preached oneness and warned us of false prophets and teachers who would come and distort his message, we need to stop pretenting the Holy Bible is a definitive book that we have to follow all of the scriptures verbatim, The Holy Bible is not an exact historical record and also The Holy Bible does not contain 100% factual and correct information, If we followed that logic all thos who eat pork, get divorced, and wear clothing made out of more than one fabric would be sinning against God but that is not the case because of "Grace", dont forget the definition of love in 1 Corinthians 13:4-8a (ESV). The Holy Bible contains many inaccuricies, ommisions, mistranslations, spells, witchcraft, majic and acts of Reiki and energy healing, Jesus was an "inadverdent" Energy Healer, You should also take a look at Paul again, the Book of Deuteronomy contains spells, people of God at Gods behest used divination in The Holy Bible, Exodus 28:15-21 tells it all in regards to Crystals, look at 1 Samuel 14:41 and 1 Sam 23:9-12 ; 30:7-8 . Also the verb "inquire of" followed by "the Lord" or "God" when no means of revelation is specified refers to a usage of the Urim and Thummim. This covers "Divination" and "Crystals". Make it make sense people, I am not leaning on to mine own understanding but in all ways I acknowledge him daily, are there any real Bible scholars out there who are blessed with true Holy Spirit who can enlighten me? I happen to know I am in line with "God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob" but my gnosis is tellin me something is off, who is responsible from holding back the true knowledge of God from his people? Is it God? Is it man? Is it the enemy? In the allegory of Genesis in the approved Holy Text we were expelled from the "Garden" for Adam partaking into the fruit of knowledge and trying too hide from God, well I hide no more and the fruit has been ate already and so be it, I will not feel bad about eating it nor will I ever hide from God because God to put it simply, materialized a peice of himself in human form for our meek understanding to help us out, he cleared that "curse" from the Garden using Yeshua of Nazareth, While “Notzri” is the Hebrew word for “Christian”, it actually means one from Nazareth (Natzeret in Hebrew). It would be more accurate to say Yeshua me Natzeret - Yeshua from Nazareth. It’s close, but worlds away in Israeli perception. Christ is the Greek word for Messiah, so Jesus Christ really means Yeshua the Messiah. God was always here on earth in all forms and all demensions simontaniously, God's energy is not of "fear", he does not talk like that or promote fear, I welcome any rebuttal or alternate, respectful and discerning interpretations.

I have taken the time to study all the mainline religions and philosophy and in my contemplation of these as well as life itself I have discovered that truth is in everything but it is always mixed with falsehood. I believe that learning to discern the true from the false our eyes open and we begin to see God in everything. God wears a veil which is our false beliefs and biases and once we learn to penetrate these false beliefs and discard them our eyes open to behold God.

The real loving work that God accomplished on the cross. He came to die for sinners. Without the real Jesus we are left with the self. The me, myself and I guy and the reality of trying to lay our good works before God and attempt to cover over what Jesus did on the cross. Saved by grace through faith in the real Lord Jesus Christ only. Not man centered but Christ centered. The way to the Father is Christ and the Holy Spirit is given by Jesus. The Three are One. Find Him. Confess sin, repent and surrender to Him. To remain contemplative (meditate) on the Word of God. The old King James Bible and not the new conversions. God never changes.

I have NEVER heard anyone use the term "fast food religion" in my life and that is the perfect way to describe it now. The have it your way approach and keeping it transactional rather than what it truly is. I am not saying this to judge but more of my astonishment that statement alone connected the dots for me and made me realize I've never learned how to properly communicate with anyone until this second.

The first time I read the words "contemplative prayer" it was cast in a negative light. So I knew I had to look into it. That was over a decade ago and it was one of the first times that I had found a name for a practice that I just did, naturally. Over the next ten years or so many of my personal practices would be revealed as having names and nearly all of them would be disparaged by the modern church. After releasing my attachment to the internal struggle that arises when the heart and the head are in different places I came to a realization. That was a beautiful moment, I laughed and cried simultaneously. Duality is an illusion, there's no beginning, no end, only now. We all have a road to walk, though the path may be narrow it is easy. One foot goes in front of the other, one breath follows the next. Stay upright and do not think too much and all of life's decisions become easy. Hello fellow mystics and contemplatives something is happening because we are beginning to find each other.

WOW Thank you. I've heard the term Contemplative prayer all of my life. But I never knew what it meant. Also, I didn't realize that meditation and trying to stay in the moment activities integrated so beautifully into our Catholic traditions.
