Are those factory alloy wheels?
HELL YEAH YA DID!
That awd will put a lot of people over and these grip like no other you can’t go wrong with either but those markups are insane if I had to pick one I’d go type r simply because I’m more familiar the Hondas I’ve had have been absolute bulletproof just got rid of a fa5 that I drove the shit out of and it had 215k miles up to that point not one single mechanical issue but I’d gladly take a sub for sure this white looks fantastic
JESUS CHRIST IS OUR GOD LORD OF LORDS AMEN AND AMEN HALLELUJAH❤💯🫡🕊️🙏
😂 😂 My man was really grasping at straws
I’ve been having this issue for the longest and I couldn’t find out why. Thank you so much. Going to try to fix it like this
Except the CTR's engine will go for 200,000 miles more.
Just came here from a bunch of your Subaru vids. Why?! You will be missed subaru😢
I was able to sell it without losing any money and I wanted to experience other platforms
I owned an FK8 Type R for 4 years and just sold it recently and picked up a 21 STI. This is my 3rd STI I've owned and it has been a great car so far. I love the more pronounced turbo lag feeling on the EJ257. I definitely agree with your points, especially in regards to the interior having less blind spots. At the end of the day, they're both great cars and you really can't go wrong either way. I would probably recommend more people to the CTR now that prices have come down, purely because I have more faith in Honda reliability and I think most people are lax when it comes to maintenance that STI's require.
I agree. I’d go CTR now but only because I’ve already experienced the STI
@@novaGRCircuit I didn't realize you'd traded the STI in for a GR Corolla. Those cars are awesome! I'll have to check out your videos on it.
Good video. I overdid my mods in first WRX I had. Miss my Launch Edition STI. Disappointed that it was discontinued. Such is why am going for GRC Circuit Edition as well. Take delivery next week.
Congrats!
Interesting as that is exactly what happened to me. Overdid mods on first WRX and then could no longer get it inspected. Then got a Launch Edition with sports exhaust and loved it. A top 5 car for me. But had a chance to get a preowned AMG and traded it for that. Wish I didn’t have to trade it but I did. Had 2 other WRXes but was always disappointed with them vs STI. GR purchased for the same reasons you sited. Hope to keep for awhile but only time will tell. Will not be doing technical performance mods as I believe that hurts resale value. Love the car so far but only have 1500 miles on my 2024 Circuit Edition.
I hate to say it because it’s such a clean car and I see his excitement….. but that’s still too much. I would’ve gone with the Type R for that kind of money. But honestly between both of those cars almost 50k is pretty much robbery.
Well if you think about it the top trim Corolla hatchback goes into the low $30’s. There’s no way a Circuit Edition with forged Carbon roof and that motor can be below $40k. Not in 2024
You cant go wrong with a subi STI
You wanted an old engine in a new car and the CTR is a new design… but the dealerships are asking for the markups rookie 🖕💩
Stay mad 😂
Let us STI owners know how that direct injection works for you with carbon build up 😂
I have a 2019 sti stage 2+ pro tuned, purchased in 2020 and tuned shortly after, it has been absolutely great for me with no issues whatsoever 🙏🏼 I work for Toyota and have recently been thinking about trading for a 2024 grc premium, I feel like I will miss my sti but something is making me want to trade..
Can't go wrong with either but new experiences are always worh it!
Im curious if you kept the sti or got the corolla 👀
@@brentgarcia7759 to be honest I still have the sti because I have had the Corolla on order for 4 months now and it still hasn’t arrived smh.. in the process of getting the Corolla, I think it’s what the sti should have been if it was made in these newer years
Here's my beefs with 2021 limited 1. Gas mileage is beyond bad, my 2019 audi rs3 with bigger motor and more power is better on gas. 2. No heated steering wheel 3. HK sound system is trash and the subwoofer is weak. 4. Road noise is brutally loud. 5 2018 19 inch rims are nicer looking. 6. Oem brembo 6 piston brakes create way too much dust, need to be ceramic pads 7. Stock exhaust sucks 8. 310.hp is way to low and, needs to be at least 360hp, 400hp would be perfect 9. LED lowbeam cant be replaced if bulb dies, its a one piece unit and its about $2000 per side for a new headlight lense. 10. Engine still burns oil after 20 years of this engines existence. 3000k oil change intervals and still burns oil. 11. Radio is garbage and still has CD player lol, screen is too small, almost have to upgrade to Idoing head unit so you get more power to the speakers .
Two years later, how’s your head gasket? 😂
I wouldn't know, I already sold the car
i cant wait to get mine
One day i hope to have this issue....i am debating between a CTR or 2020+ sti RA, but right now its just dreams, no $$$$$$
What phone mount are you using?
To be honest, I don’t remember where I got it from I think it’s something cheap I bought on Amazon a while ago. Since filming this, that mount has broken lol
White looks very nice on the circuit
Is it worth to trade sti for this? I’m currently at same situation with my 21 sti. I can get gr without markup or up to 2k markups.
I’d say in most circumstances yes. To me the GR is a better platform for daily and track purposes. The only downside I can think of at the moment is a limited aftermarket since the platform hasn’t even been out a year yet but hopefully that’ll change over time
Is this a stock exhaust?
I had the remark axleback + non resonated midpipe in this video
Congrats and nice!!!I purchased my brand new Corolla GR Core in same color ice cap white and I absolutely love it. It's such a awesome vehicle.
Congrats on getting at msrp. 47k with taxes and fees not bad.
Just say you got money lil bro
It’s beautiful , PUT A APPLE TAG ( take out sound chip ) IN IT FOR SAFETY BRO . …….
You know that’s not such a bad idea
And a k20 with some cams will wax them both lol
Welcome brother! It's a great platform!
I own a 2017 sti, and still watch sti review videos, why.
Every car I own keeps the radio on when the car is turned off. Lucky for me I like it that way.
I love my gr corolla circuit edition in red
My total a $46.7k
Nice! Glad to see other owners being able to get MSRP
Ay you paid msrp for you circuit too let’s goo
As a WRX owner for twenty years I was stoked about the rumors for the new STI. Could not have been more disappointed. Not a fan the plastic cladded WRX then Subaru dropped the STI. Bought a Core GR Feb '23. I like the uniqueness of the 3 cylinder that is suffering from a serious case of pissed off. A small downside, get ready for more brake dust than you've ever seen before.
I believe the term is “on demand bronze rims.”
Seriously what's with the brake dust?
@@ArthaxtaDaVince777 The pads, you can clean the rims and a few days later the dust has caked them. Cars produce brake dust but the GR takes it to a new level. Guess it's the price of admission for the GR
@stevethomas760 Yeah, I noticed that too, I washed my rims and the next day, they were covered by dust again. Are the pads good or bad?
@@ArthaxtaDaVince777 Good pads/brakes, just produce a lot of dust. As you know GR has 14" front rotors, huge for a car this size.
Why did you want a gr yaris over this?
It’s smaller and from what I hear, a little more nimble and light on its feet. Either way, I’m glad to have been able to get the Corolla
Insert subaru engine blow up joke
I am a former 2016 owner. I ran a set of winter and summer tires. Now i am looking at getting a wrx again and am torn between all season and all terrain tires. I would love to hear your feedback if you got to drive these in snow. I get a lot of it here and either AT or AS will be an improvement in snow over summers, but depending on the tread design, there are goot AT options that have better sidewalls for winter but stiffer rubber for summer...what an impossible comparrison lol.
That’s interesting because I haven’t heard of too many people running all terrain on these… do you mean something like a Crossclimate2? If so, I mean I guess it would work but you’re losing out on a lot of dry handling, steering feel, and overall athleticism. My opinion is that if you’re going to run a winter set, run a real winter set. The AS4’s do fine in my area that gets very little snow, but good enough in a pinch to get you home. Crossclimates or other AT’s are really for lazy people that want a tire in their commuter Camry that will get by year round
@@novaGRCircuit Actually got the idea from a BRZ owner who ran AT through a Michigan winter. Said they did amazing year round and it got the gears turning lol.
They’ll do fine all year round, but for something like a Wrx I prefer running dedicated summer/winter setups
@@novaGRCircuit I dont blame you. The only issue is, if you buy rims, you either have to settle for summers on the stock set or buy 2 new sets due to side differences. At the end of the day you can buy just the rubber, but thats $100 minimum twice a year for a job that takes 20 bolts and 20 minutes if you have them all set up and balanced. Was hoping to hear they did way better than expected but I suppose I expected to hear that 2 sets is the superior way to go. thanks man.
I’m in the same situation with my GR Corolla. I’m trying to burn through the stock rubber as fast as possible
All your factors is not important significant factors to switch from STI to GR
Maybe not for you but it is important for me
Where did you get that red pinstripe on the back?
Import image racing
Did you pay cash? Or finance? What's your APR? And did you trade in the WRX? For how much?
wise choice
Car looks clean, you detailed it?
Yessir
so you ended up still paying 10k over anyways? lol.
How did you come to that conclusion? I literally say how much I paid within the first 45 seconds and it def was not 10k over
You did not watch the full video lol smh
He said he paid 47k, that's only 2 or 3k over msrp. Considering other horror stories that is incredible.
@@diallo1347 47k OTD including fees and taxes
You gotta pay taxes and fees. Which always are between 3-6k
It’s not bad for junk lol
These are cool, I like that the car exists at all! I share your opinions on the STI as I had one for a few years but went into an M340. Had these been out when I sold the STI, this one would have been a no brainer. Enjoy!!
Thanks!
doesn't look as great as the STI but the car is probably better in every other category. It's really cool that Toyota gave us this car.
tracking these is garabage according to many sources, overheating system, you'll enjoy it more in the snow and everyday driving
I’ve done one so far on a cooler ambient temperature day and it did fine, so far no real complaints about anything
Welcome to the GRC club! Gotta say I wanted the CE, but as a car guy and knowing I'd be purchasing one for year round driving, which meant Canadian winters; I could NOT bring myself to put a CE ltd production car through our harsh winters... but I sure did want that carbon roof! Ultimately, the core is so very impressive and I feel can't be called a Corolla (coming from a 2019 6spd XSE); it's just so different. looking forward to your updates!
Be careful if overheating in track and rear axle failure
True. But if you haven't checked out the Savagegeese comparison you should see what happened to the STI 😃
@@nberkel yes all turbos are heavily proned unless modified
