Ardview Vanlife
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 13 มิ.ย. 2016
We are Roksana and Calum and we are full time van lifers, living out of our self-converted ambulance. We bought it in June 2019 when we were both living and working in Edinburgh. Fed up with high bills and expensive rent, we thought that van life would be a gateway to escaping the hustle and bustle. After many challenges, we finally almost a year ago moved in full time in our little home on wheels - Tyrion Vannister.
In November 2022, we made a bold move and quit our full time jobs in the whisky industry to pursue our dream of being full time travellers on the road.
Looking forward to sharing our journey with you! :)

Back to living full time in the Scottish Highlands
We are finally back to living full time in the Ardnamurchan after spending 3 months trying to fix our van. We spent the whole of last summer living in the Scottish Highlands in our converted campervan.
It feels incredible to be back in The Ardnamurchan and we are looking forward to another great summer and sharing what we are up to here on our short films.
Thanks for joining us!

Endless Van Problems? (vanlife winter)
มุมมอง 1.1K11 หลายเดือนก่อน
Our winter #vanlife problems continue as we have a mouse in our van. It seems the problems with our van are endless. It has us constantly thinking will the next problem be the end of vanlife. Following last week's problem with our van, we continue to keep a close eye of how our van is running. It seems as though that we are having no problem with the petrol that Calum put into our diesel van, h...

We were featured on BBC Scotland this week. So it seems someone is watching our videos after all. We were approached by BBC Scotland back in June to see if we wanted to be featured in one of there up and coming episodes of Landward. This was super exciting for both of us as neither of us have been on TV before. *We start talking about BBC Scotland here* 00:13:00 They came to shoot with us in Th...
Our Highland Life
มุมมอง 1.2Kปีที่แล้ว
In this week's vlog we pick up where we left off, showing you our off-grid highland life. Making the most of living in the Scottish highlands is sometimes hard but when the weather is kind it is easy to be immersed in the sheer beauty of the place. We live fully off-grid in our self-converted ambulance on the most westerly point on mainland britain. A wild but beautiful place called the Ardnamu...
When things go wrong in a perfect place
มุมมอง 2.7Kปีที่แล้ว
What a week in The Ardnamurchan! Living in such a perfect place doesn't prepare you for when things suddenly go wrong. After living here in the Scottish highlands now for just over 6 months we are beginning to feel more and more at home. This seems like our perfect place with amazing peeks and gorgeous beaches. While we have been here, very little has gone wrong. We have enjoyed soaking up the ...
A simple quiet life
มุมมอง 1.8Kปีที่แล้ว
A simple quiet life isn't easy to obtain and for many people it's not even an option. But, if you can find a way to escape the hussel and bussel and get back into nature we believe, it can do great things for your mental health and general wellbeing. It is for this reason we decided to leave our life in Edinburgh to pursue a quiet life on the road in our self-converted ambulance. This life styl...
Our OFF-GRID life living in Scotland
มุมมอง 8Kปีที่แล้ว
We have have been living in our van for over a year and a half now and are very used to living this off-grid lifestyle. We have spent the majority of our time in Scotland traveling as far north as Shetland and as far south as the boarders. At the moment, we are based in one of Scotland's most remote places (the Ardnamurchan peninsula) where it is essential to live as self sufficient as possible...
Embracing Changing Weather (full-time vanlife)

In this weeks video, we are faced with the fact that summer is officially over and that it is time that we started embracing the changing weather of wind and rain which appears to be here to stay. We were never ones to shy away for the crazy weather which is common here on the west coast of scotland. If you plan on embracing vanlife to the fullest then you must not let the weather put you off. ...
A week in our life living in the SCOTTISH HIGHLANDS (vanlife)

In this weeks video, we want to try and show you what a normal week in our life living in the Scottish Highlands looks like from #vanlife perspective. WILD CAMPING on remote beach

In this weeks video we are wild camping on a remote beach in the heart of the western highlands. The beach is in a remote part of the Ardnamurchan and is locally known as the Singing Sands. It's a stunning remote beach with crystal clear waters and perfectly white sand. Even though it's quite a long trek to this amazing beach it's well worth the effort. This week we are joined by our really goo...

Aw thanks so much :) You really didn't have to, honestly :)
Hi where is this as Bhosha caves do not appear in maps ?
Hi, yeah not surprised it doesn't come up on google maps. Not many people have been there probably. Here are the coordinates - 55.927348, -6.168961 . hope this helps :)
Where is she from she doesn't sound Scottish, I love her accent.
Hi, I am from Poland 🙂 Been living in Scotland now for 10 years 🙂
Haha callum looking at boats shot was perfect😂 Me and my family are up that way in October and cant wait , never been 🙂
Hey, would love it here. Its just stunning 🙂 Especially at this time of year 🙂

Me and my gf took it in turns to take a tour of distillery today(as we have young daughter)i saw callum putting a shift in(i had green coat on).Looking forward to trying it tonight. If we see u guys about we will say hi, we here another 6days, ur vids been a great help 🙂
I'm sorry - but that shower .... clean!???
Ha clean is :P
Forager and fungi fan here... Did you know that hoof fungus makes great tinder?! The birch polypore makes a better wound dressing, and sticks better than any you can buy, or receive from nhs, and has all the properties you'll need to heal and care for the wound. I make an immunity tonic/tincture from it with cloves. Glad you're being careful. Recommend getting a few mushroom books to use as well as the app, Rodger Philips' is excellent reading and reference. And Colins. Love love love the van build. It's beautiful. Thoroughly enjoyed watching this, guys x
Aw thanks for you amazing comment. So sorry it took so long to reply. Thanks for the great tips and we will for sure check that book out. Glad you like our van, we put a lot of care into building it :)
Hi guys..a while ago I was watching vlogs on Ardnamurchan and photographing as I was coming here to work and live. I am now here. I was on shift on the evening in the Loch Shiel Hotel when I noticed your familiar faces in the bar. Sorry at the time I only realised it was yourself after you had left. I would have like to say 'hello' and that I have watched and enjoyed your vlogs. At one time I would have been envious you both living here, now I am and I am very happy with life. I wish you both well and if you are ever in Acharacle again do drop in for a beer and say hello 😃
ha that is so nice :) would love to grab a pint some time. Are you on instagram? if so please drop us a message there and we can keep in touch :)
@@ardview-vanlife @jacqui_s_photography yes that would be nice thank you
Hi guys I have a book for you about real people famous Lynn and Larry pardey , o and a couple of stickers 😊, your channel is doing great just about to take off and has the potential to let you travel and pay for it, I am at the point tonight ferry terminal but I understand if you guys are busy, hopefully doing another video lol look after your self's.
Aw just seen this message. Thanks for dropping off the snacks and the book. Haven't had a chance to read it yet but it's in the boat. Thanks again 😁😁😁
Greedy people moved them of the land , just the same as the rich that sold our country, bought and sold for english gold, just remember the babies born in your van the start off life.
Hi guys whats your fire called where did you get it thanks , enjoyed the video, normal life is more interesting.
It's from a company called outback stoves. Small independent company I believe 🙂
He gets my weather wrong all the time ,whats the blue sticker on your van .
A the sticker is a Scotland in Europe sticker 🙂 You might have seen it when you were up.
No keep doing v life 😂 , what make is your stove where did you get it can you remember its approx cost .
It's an Outback stove can't remember the price but it wasn't that cheep. I can remember that much.

Cant you make a framework where you are and plug in panels there , or just put a couple on your car roof, i love mushrooms thats what makes me a fungi .
Hey guys, Lovely to see you the other night. Sorry for the impromptu visit. Me thinks it was badly timed... 🫣 It was nice to see you though and I hope you can forgive our intrusion. Thanks for the pomp this morning Rox📯📯 You must be up early to get to work from fascadale to acharacle.... It must take 2 hours to get through the sheep🐑🐑🐑... 😂 Just got home this evening and I'm missing it already. Hope to see you soon, October/November. Enjoy the rest of the summer and autumn and I how the weather is kinder than it's been. It all adds to the adventure. See you soon 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Aw sorry we forgot to reply to your lovely message. It was honestly so nice to see all and be sure to say hi next time you're up. We could ways grab a pint 🙂 And I believe that was Rocks tooting the horn as she past you guys 📯📯
I just discovered your channel and love it so much! You’re both so adorable!! Best wishes from Tennessee in the U.S.
AW thank you, what a lovely comment. Nice to think your videos are watched all the way over in Tennessee :)
Hi there again you two lucky people. I'm glad you're both back and living the dream in the Ardnamuchan. We're up here at the moment, camped at where you were fishing Callum. 😊 Our spot for the last 25 years or more❤ I know your video is from a while back but we hope you're still around. I spotted a van yesterday, which could have been yours. Up on the hill out of Strontian on the road to Ardgour. I would have stopped and said hello but we were on a mission to get back in time for a meal booking. We'll be in and out of Acharacle so we may bump into Rox. I've just found a great spot for a van which you may not know. It's just out of Salen. If I see you, I'll let you know where it is. Enjoy your life up here and keep posting your fantastic videos. They keep us smiling whilst we're back in the "real" soul sucking world. Steven, Amy, Lisa and Leo 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Hey Steven so nice to hear from you. Well spotted, that was us parked up outside Strontian. We were there for two nights. We are now back to our usual spot. Would be nice to see you guys again if you find yourself back down west Ardnamurchan. Even if you pop into the distillery to say hi :)

Experienced forager here - can definitely confirm those are 'Angel Wings' (Pleurocybella porrigens). Lots of deaths from these in Japan over years of steady consumption - kidney failure and brain lesions. Strangely enough it used to be considered a "fantastic edible" until the deaths associated with it popped up. Best way to tell the difference from these and Oysters is Angel Wings will only grow on soft/conferous wood, whereas Oysters are always hardwood. Note the colour also as Angel Wings are always moonlit white, whereas Oysters are beige/tan/grey. Happy foraging!
Great, good to know :) Great to hear from someone who knows what they are talking about :) We are looking forward to more foraging. Already enjoyed some chanterelle.
@@ardview-vanlife No problem, you're doing the right thing with double/triple checking with reputable books/online sources also. Keep learning and building on that knowledge. All the best.
Thank you so much for your amazing videos! I’ve been binging them the last few days as my son and I will be visiting Ardnamurchan in October with our van and your videos make us look forward to that even more. We can hardly wait, and as I’m a big whisky fan we’re definitely going to visit the distillery as well :-)
Aw great, you will love it up here :) Definitely pop in for a dram. If I am about I will happily pour you a wee dram.
Have you considered using a cooler bag with a zip top, the kind supermarkets sell, and slinging it outside in winter to keep food chilled, especially sealed foods that won’t attract wildlife?
Yes, that's exactly what we do in the winter. We keep a cool bag in the front of the van and it works pretty well. We now also keep a cool bag inside the van in the summer and just switch over cool blocks every day :) Pain in the bum but it works.
The islanders They were very superstition. And believed in the Devil 👿
The reason the cottages had rounded corners, was that the devil could hide behind 90 degree corners, hence the rounded corners.
I remember hearing that about the old round church on Islay :)
Once again, Hi from Australia 🌏🦘
Hello from Finland 🇫🇮 I really enjoy your vibe! Just found your videos when I was searching for Scotland content after hiking the West Highland Way. Scotland is soo beautiful and it also reminds me a bit about finnish Lapland :)
Hi, glad you liked our video. We hope to visit Finland some day. One of our good friends is from there and we have heard good things :)
A big Hiya, from Perth West Australia 🦘🌏 great video.
Hi from Inverness... Scottish Highlands..This video was just what the Doctor ordered.. Very real as it relates to every day life..I am not keen on the inverness accent, All be it that I am a local to the area.. but both of your accents and personalities compliment each other in a very unique way that is a pleasure to listen to ..The content was very good indeed ..Thank you both ...Kindness both of your way..
Aw thanks, what a lovely comment :)
What a waste of a journey. You go to Mull, make the video all about you, then have the nerve to judge Mull
Well that's a bit of an overreaction. We only had nice things to say about the Island.
Shame about the wine 🍷😢 great video, Hello from West Australia 🦘🦘
Found your channel through Ruth Aisling, great videos, keep up the great work, I'm Scottish born and bred, but living in Perth west 🌏🦘
Hopefully you don't feel too home sick watching our videos.
Found your channel by mistake, BUT good fortune.
Jesus, Almighty God 🙏 loves ❤ you more than you could possibly comprehend! He died for your sins, my sins and the sins of the world. Jesus stands with His arms opened wide, hoping and willing to heal, forgive, cleanse, strengthen and purify us. He is waiting to receive you with all love! He deeply desires a personal relationship with each and every one of us! RELATIONSHIP NOT RELIGION! Draw near to God and He will draw near to you, there is no repentance in the grave: There is no conversion after the last breath is drawn. Now is the time to believe in Christ and to lay hold of eternal life (J C Ryle). God has revealed Himself to us in the glory of creation, in the perfection of the written word and in personal experience of all who seek Him. Prayer 🙏 is giving our attention to God in a two-way Spiritual relationship where we talk to God and also listen to Him, you can pray 🙏 to God, through Jesus in the privacy of your own home (pray from your heart). God speaks to your heart because He loves you and wants to interact with you. So often we don't wait for God to speak after we've finished laying down our requests. Sadly, we don't watch for God to act in our lives. Did you know that God speaks to us through the Bible? The Holy scriptures Old and New Testaments, are the written Word of God, given by divine inspiration through holy men of God who spoke and wrote as they were moved by the Holy Spirit. The gift of the Holy Spirit is one of God's greatest gifts to us. Through the Holy Spirit we may know that God lives and that Jesus is the Christ! Scripture is always the voice of God in the general sense that God inspired the words of Scripture (2 Tim 3:16). God can also speak specifically to us through the Bible, by drawing a particular passage to our attention because the Word of God is living and active (Heb 4:12). We can say that it is God's primary way of speaking to us. Any other communication must be based and tested by what is taught in Scripture. The Holy Bible is God's guide for us, so we can reach Him, the only true living God and hear back from Him! Jesus is returning in the not so distant future!
Hi. Isn't there a bar with seating at the distillery(where 1 can sit and order drams without tour booking) ?
Yes, you're more than welcome to do that. We have a small bar up stairs in the distillery.
@@ardview-vanlife Thanks. 1.so that bar has all the distillery exclusives and other ardnamurchans(open to walk in anytime?) 2.what do i really miss out on if i take the regular tour instead of behind the scenes?(apart from chance to ask questions and 3 drams which i can have in the bar too) 3.i ll be booking maggies cottage.so would be getting regular tours for the couple. Would i as a whisky enthusiast regret if i dont take behind the scenes too ?
Trust me go to Uisken

That's great glad you found it and enjoyed it 🥃 It's nice as it only has a wee bit of peat 🥃
Love the fact this is kept very real and when the fishing rod came out and the camp fire, well that was the icing on the cake, makes you want to go camping watching this.😁
