This guy is talking like this is an insult. You lost an ace pitcher and a big bat and the bat that replaced him is usually injured for a portion of the year and your only projected 2 games worse. I think I would be happy with that. Its basically saying its the same team as last year. I dont see what to be upset about.

A bounce of the ball, a bloop here or there, or a fly ball lost in the sun; all of these things could turn a game from a lost to a win, and vice versus. Pecota doesn't measure luck and the heart of these young Birds. I say we got 162 games coming up to show our luck, and hearts, are better than those Damn Yankees!

I think the baseball season is too long to make predictions. Injuries are unpredictable. Colossal career years happen for the first time every year that no one predicted. That's the beauty of baseball.

One of the big keys to this season is the Os bullpen.If the Os pen steps up and becomes a top 5-ish , they will be fine.Come July , the needs will become more apparent and Elias will re-assess the current situation and act accordingly(will Bradish be ready to go??? maybe snag a top of the line arm at the deadline??) and the Birds will make a possible WS run.

I'm not "livid", but Baseball Prospectus doesn't have a clue. The Birds won over 100 games in 2023 without Corbin, and the only reason they didn't match that figure last year is because of major injuries. Frankly, had that not been the case they would have won the AL East again and probably picked up some playoff wins. *_GO O'S!_*

I 100% agree that 90 is probably a max win total this year, let's face it, they regressed with the loss of Tony and Burnes. Elias has chosen a mid 30's japanese pitcher who has yet to throw a pitch in the bigs, a 42 year old veteran who should retire, a washed up back up catcher, and an injury prone right fielder. Like come on.

Pitching wasn't the problem last year. The offense disappeared in August and September.

If no playoffs this year, Elias should be fired.

I have been a fan since 1979, a time when we built the team through drafts and player development. Baseball has changed dramatically since, so having seen many different aspects of this club, I am of the mindset that I trust the process of Mike Elias. Going from the worst team to the best in two years speaks volumes, yet some fans still miss the point: trust the process. It brought us to this point, plus we have an owner that will spend, but that is not a license to throw money at EVERY FA. If you are old enough to remember 1996-2000, you know what i mean, culminating with the signing of the cancerous clubhouse personality of Albert Belle. Trust the process...

As we get closer to Spring Training, what are your thoughts on the Orioles SP? Could the free agents Andrew Heaney, Nick Pivetta, and/or Patrick Corbin help?

The O’s failure in the 2024 playoffs was solely based on their lack of offensive production. Kimbrell was gone by then. The O’s scored a single run in the two games.

Why should the Orioles trade away their prospects for a one year rental.....burnes was great. Don't get me wrong. But, I wouldn't keep doing the same thing. It's not worth it in the long run. Now if we get a pitcher with 3 years on a contract....then Kjersted is worth trading. But, not for a one year rental. Kjersted is too valuable

The Orioles have a deficiency within their front office. This team is no better than a third place team in the AL East. I am not intrigued with this team’s inability to pull off a top tier pitcher and another stud outfielder. No better than 85 wins? Any takers?

An Ace ? He is a .500 Lifetime pitcher and only has started for 1.5 years . Last year was a breakthrough season , but I see him as more of a number 2 at best . Lets not anoint a pitcher who in his1.5 seasons as a starter is 17-17 as an Ace quite yet . I see the ERA and great stats , but 1 full very good season as a starter , is not enough evidence to trade the farm for him .

This move is a waste of time. Heston is going to be the Orioles rightfielder when O'Neill flops this year or demand too high a salary after a good year.

King would’ve two years of team control. 2026’ would be 15 mill and he’s going to be a stud! I’ve watched him the last few seasons and you can see he’s figuring out how to pitch at this level. I’d much rather bring him in Vs Cease imo
