The reason they do pandering garbage like this with Sonic in particular is because no one thinks the Sonic series has any identity of its own. Everyone just forgot the series' roots and source material (which was envisioned by the Japanese dev team throughout the 90s), and decided to just copy the popular thing. This has been the status quo for this series for TWO DECADES. It's no wonder Sonic's felt like a rotting corpse for so long.

i think the phantom ruby is over hyped yes its powers are crazy but it took a random created char and sonic to beat him and sonic on his second fight with infinte did some damage so with that said super sonic should have him by the nutz

Do your research bro. If it wasn’t for the sonic movie, sonic would be in deep shit right now. The sonic movie was the thing that ultimately saved the franchise and allowed us to get bangers titles like frontiers which took the crown as the best selling 3d sonic game since the adventure games, without all of that we would never have gotten sonic prime or sonic X shadow generations or the second and third movies which the third is looking to be one of the best sonic projects ever. So think again before you make the same mistake IGN did with there infamous sonic was never good bull crap.

Hope they redeem the Phantom Ruby and we get to explore it more later on. I love how Sonic Mania introduces it, but I did not like the lack of pay off or the little that it's said and done about it in Forces other than the pretty cool and twisted illusions Infinite creates in that one city Avatar level

Based video. I completely agree with you. I hope if we get more Paramount Sonic films after Sonic 3 that Paramount will do a reboot and I say this as someone who usually hates reboots. I hate the 'Sonic in the real world' premise of the Paramount Sonic films, it's inherently restrictive and robs the films of the exciting science-fiction/fantasy elements of its source material that made me obsessed with the Sonic franchise as a kid. In the original Japanese version of the games, Sonic's home was always Earth all along albeit obviously an alternate version of Earth where humans and anthros live together. Paramount needs to do that or fuck off, in my opinion.

Generations completely succeeded with combining the high speed action of unleashed with the platforming of colours, Two types of boost gameplay merged into one and bam, Thats the best 3D Sonic game.

I have had multiple ideas for Sonic adjacent theme parks mainly for Disney Parks I've had coaster themed to speed Highway for Hollywood Studios. an attraction for Epcot since Sonic is thematically related to Epcot as a progressive vision for the future. And for Disneyland they have two expansion plots that a new land could go into, both fitting thematically with the rest of the areas.
