Okay so I had this character idea for a while (Since 2020 ToT), so Imma say it here cause why not- This character can be considered as a Mary Sue- BUT I PROMISE IT IS OKAY I THINK! This character is a prince of a kingdom, he is considered the perfect prince in all the kingdoms of the land, he can rule with kindness, loyalty, integrity, and so on. He is knowledgeable, brave, and talented. But that was just the front he put forward, in reality, he was scared, never confident, had to learn his "talents", and so much more. He only placed the "Perfect" act because of the expectations around him and it is killing him inside. Soon he wasn't able to contain it anymore and snapped, as a result, he made terrible decisions on his path. Slowly he began to realize his mistakes, but he couldn't turn back now, so he continued his tirade. Finally, he just broke down and let it all out. That is really all I have so far since I haven't finished writing him since I got bored TvT... What do you guys think?

i’m currently working on the pilot for a gameshow gacha series and this is useful for better writing and storytelling so tysm i’m binging ur series bc i wanna see how i can improve more in writing and making my scenes seem more natural to make the series miles better than what it would be without some advice :)

One way to figure out if you your character is good or not Is if you cringe at their action in like “oh ew, why would they do that, that’s so cringey!” Or if you cringe at them like “No Fara no! You can’t do that! That won’t help” Like if you cringe from it in a way where you just hate the character and there’s no reason you think they would do that But if you cringe at them in a way where you feel mad at them for their action but you understand their reason

The introduction The inciting incident The promise of the premise The midpoint The climax The resolution/end.

Or there’s always werewolves in these stories like pick something new for ones

This video is amazing! I love how you explained the main issues with rfa and the writing which i can agree with for the most part! As much as i do like watching rfa, i have noticed the plot can get very confusing at times and honestly i'm watching rfa to see what will happen at the end of the story bc the im so lost at whats going on anymore :') Also I love the eric banter as well because in most of the episodes he has been so annoying and possessive that atp i just look forward to seeing adrian and rosabella's interactions instead bc of how toxic eric has been written and my god he is getting unbearable each time (hope to see a part two of this soon btw!)

I'm very glad to see that this video exists. I'm glad to see that someone else actually sees the faults in this series. I agree with a lot of your points and was so happy to hear them. Especially that point about Rosa using her powers perfectly in episode 7, I thought I was the only one who noticed that. Speaking of episode 7, that episode really riled me up. Not just because of "superpowers ex machina" but also because I feel that they don't do much with the episode. It's the first time we leave RFA and go to someone else's kingdom, but we don't learn anything about it. No unique culture, aesthetics, and we don't even meet any citizens. Also, the kingdom is supposedly facing famine because of the evil weeds, but we don't see that. We know it's happening, but if we don't see the effects, it diminishes the impact. We don't see people looking worried or going hungry, and not even the characters treat it like a big deal.

I have a story idea in my brain, so this girls sister had went missing overnight, when she sees how the law wont help them she does it herself and finds out where she was last seen. Shes very dedicated to the point where she seems to drift away from her friends, and it becomes unhealthy. So one day she explores where her sister was last seen, and that is when she starts to grow when her friends tell her about her problems. She realizes it but its too late, since some of her friends die

Also, I have something I'd like to show although I'm not sure if it's good. It's called Prophecies of the Wind. There was a pirate who was always greedy and taught gold was everything. He was a mutant who escaped from his scientist that tortured him always and actually, left the seas to find Cristalia, a kingdom full of gold. It's game, anime, voice-acted gacha series, visual novel and all that but still working on it. It may be published in like 4 yr time. The pirate is greedy, self-confident, rude, and is trying to do everything to find magic vessels. He wants freedom from the evil oppressive laws which oppress the unfortunate and poor, he cant find his beauty and purpose behind all the gold he got, he refuses to be gentle and he actually seeks more knowledge than social acceptance. He is dutiful, loud, strong willed, independent, but also cocky. He is mentally firm and inflexible, challenging everyone he sees and his internal conflict is mainly about his purpose behind all the wealth. The fourth crown princess, in the story, is haunted by seven cursed birds and a grim reaper, but it unveils she's mentally fragile, and was abandoned by her two older brothers who wanted her to suffer like they did. Shes kind, but sometimes too cowardly to face her fears but she is empathetic, loves her family, and has a desire to protect her family and kingdom. But if you want to know about the older brothers, you would probably need to read the novel, watch the gacha series, play the game of Prophecies of the Wind to know the true older brothers. The truth behind the hauntings will be unveiled

Okay but, if you have a pretty high stakes series (like an apocalypse series or corruption takeover kind of thing) how do you go about fitting in the character stuff with the plot? I’m new to writing and I’m trying to figure this out because it’s confusing me- it’s especially hard because the series I’m starting has a LOT of characters..

These are all very good tips! But when a character does have a traumatic backstory, it has to be done right and it needs to be the cause of why the character is the way they are. A character with a dramatic backstory doesn’t have to be its only trait. Characters can work through things and go through struggles to rise from it and grow from it. We are currently working on a gacha series and advice like this really helps 👍

22:46, as a genshin fan myself, I definitely get that, genshin’s lore is very intricate and impressive, but we’re 5 nations in and the way the lore has been executed is not so impressive lol. With each archon quest the writing gets better imo though so I have hope the game ends off with a truly good bang.

Ive noticed that the voice acted stories usually have a bit more variety and flavour besides the generic gacha stories. Sure those stories tend to be fantasy/supernatural yet they tend to have their own identidy in some way. (Im considering watching those as a way to get back in the community besides the occasional Afton videos I watch and creating/gachafiying my ocs)

tragedy >>>>>> but one thing in humor, i believe it relies on timing. when you time a joke right, it would hit the best there. irony and sarcasm works the best when the timing is right.

Instead, she's half Asian, has vibrant green eyes, originally haad white hair but it began to turn brown later in her teens, so it's white at some part of the hair at the bottom yet a dark brown at the top. She us also really tall and has a mole near her lip and a birthmark beneath her collarbone. Now I had a reason for a... but ugh my keyboard is giving trouble to type.
