This is soo beautiful !!!!♥️♥️
@@srikeerthanasanapathi9259 thank you! There are more patterns available on Etsy google Kate gillery
my instructions from a kit told me to put fabric in hoop and cut fabric 1 inch all way round the hoop. once I did that it says to glue gun the rest of fabric after cutting down on hoop. then now I have a major problem it says to trace pattern hoop facing up but I can't its too thick of a fabric I can't see the pattern I am thinking I got wrong directions . I got the PUNCH NEEDLE KIT FROM HOBBY LOBBY

Thankyou so much for sharing this
@@anshubhardwaj4177 your welcome, thank you!
What happened that you didn’t do more videos?🇨🇦❤️
Life Gina.....Life!
What punch needle do you use that's beautiful
CTR needles. They are no longer made. Igolochkoy are extremely similar. Important to use 1, 2 and 3 strands for detail work. There are more videos for more info. Kate
Hi you're so good 👍 i am so excited to see your video ❤
Thank you, you're so kind. I am retired now. So i no longer design punch needle. I do still sell most of my patterns on Etsy. Search Kate Gillery. Enjoy! Kate
Hi how can I get this needles and the thread,
Unfortunately they are no longer made. Good news, the Igolochkoy needles are extremely similar. You maybe able to find the CTR's but they are hard to find. Kate
I hope it's ok to ask a question. What's the difference between this type of needle and the ultra punch? I have carpal tunnel and it's hard for me to hold on to something so skinny and small.
I find the these needles are much smaller in width. You dont have to use as much pressure to push through the fabric like the fatter needles. 3 strands vs 6 strand helps with this also. Hope this helps. Kate
@@kategillery5001 thank you for the quick reply! That definitely helps!
Thank you 🙂
Hello Kate, Your videos are wonderful. Do you ever do projects for miniature houses. If so can you link any videos for miniatures? Thank you.
No I'm sorry I don't. Thank you, Kate
How fabric you use?
Weavers cloth.
Thank you❤
Your so welcome, enjoy your new venture.
You convinced me that I needed CTR punch needles. Unfortunately they haven’t been made for a couple of years. I searched worldwide and found them all! Couldn’t believe I did it.
Patricia, well worth the effort…they are wonderful needles! Way to go!!! Kate
That frame you use. Where did you buy that frame. That hoop is really interesting and are those the needles to hold the fabric? That is weird. I have never seen that.
It is a gruber rug hooking frame...they are great for weavers cloth, monks cloth or hooking linen. Hold fabric beautifully taught. This is a gruber frame. Im not sure if they still make them.
I had to come back and tell you. I bought a kit with a start night solid picture in an 8” hop. Instructions said 1 strand. I’m 69 I won’t live that long to finish it. lol. I’m going to switch out the tiny needle and do it 3 strand with my lavor.
It really goes fast once you get the hang of it. 1 strand is only used for tiny details in my patterns such as eye detail etc. Most of the pattern calls for 3 strand. Maybe your kit that calls for 1 strand is referring to 1, 6 strand of DMC. Hope this makes sense? You must do what makes you comfortable.
@@kategillery5001the needle is the smallest needle I’ve ever seen. I realized it’s not even on any woven cloth. Total waste of space.
@karemikeh do what's comfortable for you, there are many ways to punch...Enjoy!
O love all your videos. I finally found video 1. By using a flimsy needle threader I put it through the needle hole then down the shaft. When I pull it out it’s threaded and ready to go.
Wonderful!
I’m a beginner to PN and it was a hot mess, untill I saw your video about dude to side. Well it not perfect yet but it’s much better. I’m not going to throw it out now. lol. Thank you d so o much for saving my PN life. I bought a floss kit and can’t wait to start it. I like working with sport weight cotton more than large yarn. Anyway thank you so much.
Have fun with your new venture. Take your time speed will come as you become more familiar. Most of all Enjoy the process. Your so welcome. Kate
Your videos are amazing. Your steps by step tutorials are so very helpful and make this punch needle look so easy. Not sure why, but I have been unable to find a CTR punch needle for sale anywhere. I thought I had found the “CTR Needleworks” punch needle, but could not find a way to actually purchase it. I also found some on Etsy but they weren’t labeled as CTR punch needles. Can you please direct me to where I can find them? I thank you in advance for this information.
They do not make CTR needles anymore, so sorry. But good news is the igolochkoy needles are a very good replacement. Kate
@@kategillery5001 that explains it, thank you. Are you not a fan of the Oxford punch needle? That seems to be one used by so many.
Superb ❤

Dear sir tel howto make the fram thanks for the leson❤
It is a Gruber rug hookers frame. Your welcome! Kate
New to punching. This is quite helpful. Thank you
Your Welcome, there are 8 videos in total. Glad to help. Kate
Good morning, I’m just curious why regular punch needle doesn’t interest you. For me, the price of monks cloth keeps me away. Thanks Vicki
It does, I also do rug hooking and rug punch there are a few patterns in my Etsy shop. I have so many hobbies that I love. Watercolor and sketching are my absolute favorite. Hope I answered your question satisfactorily. Kate
PS....yes they get more expensive as the get larger...hooking on linen and wool strips are even more. All hobbies are expensive...especially in these trying days. I still believe they are a big part of life....Enjoy what you do! Kate
Howdy, Did you make the cover, for your frames spikes?
Yes out of left over weavers cloth. With rolled quilt batting in between. It is a flat frame then pinned in place. Kate
Howdy, Do you get your DMC from your local hobby store, or from somewhere else? Thanks
Local shop.....the price differences are compatible. Kate
After deciding to use the CRT punch needles, I sadly discovered that they are no longer manufactured. Although I was fortunate enough to find a set on Etsy, I am at a lost when this set wears out. Ultra punch needle is an option; however, they tend to not be as smooth the CRT needle. Do you have any recommendations for a replacement for the CRT?
I punched 11 years, 10 hours a day, 7 days a week, the needle never got worn out. They are so well made. If you do have a problem, the Igolochkoy needles are very close to the CTR. Kate
Thank you Kate.
What scissors do you use?
Gingher embroidery scissors.
@@kategillery5001 thank you! Also, where would I find CTR needles?
@Vicki V CTR company has retired. The Igolochkoy is basically made the same as the CTR. A very good needle. I recommend them over the Ultra punch needles if you are looking to do any detail work with 1 and 3 strands of floss. Kate
Thank you. I love your TH-cam videos. 🎨
Does your hand not get cramped with that very short shank needle punch
Using three strands or less means the needle itself is small. They actually glide through the weavers cloth like butter. When I used six strands and the u punch my hands cramped terribly. I only made one 6 strand punch because of it. Hope this helps. Kate
@@kategillery5001 thank you. I'm using the ultra needle punch myself and am having difficulty with my stitches being the same height any advice for me
The ultra punch to me is very cumbersome. Always had problems with it. You must not lift the tip of the needle off the fabric always drag to next stitch. It does take practice, start slow and build speed as you get used to the feel. This is true for any punch needle. Kate
Such wonderfully instructional videos, thank you! I’m so glad I’ve found you. Can you please tell me who makes these CTR needles and which ones I will need for 1-thread, 3-thread and 6 thread punching? I tried looking on Etsy and Amazon, but honestly wasn’t sure what I was looking for. I was unable to find any needles specifically labeled as or called CTR. Thanks in advance for your help. Your designs and work are amazing!
Michele, I believe they are not making CTR needles anymore. But the Igolochkoy needles are very much the same. I think CTR were made in the USA. They are now retired. The needles are much finer than the ultra punch. So if you are looking for detail work, it's the way to go. The 1-3 and 6 strand is exactly what they are named. I always worked in 1 - 3 strand never 6. I was looking for detail. There are 8 videos in total. It should answer your questions. Enjoy your new venture. Kate
I actually just framed a punch needle piece with the Ultra punch needle on a #12 depth. Looks wonderful!!
I am so glad that worked out for you. Do you have a picture you can share. Kate
Exquisite, thankyou so much. Also brilliant camera work
Thank you so much for your kind words! Kate
@@kategillery5001 I'm really excited about trying punch needle work once more. I tried many years ago ,not very successfully. Watching your wonderful precise explanation videos, has inspired me to start again.. I'm watching them all again today ,your work is so delicate and crystal clear. It's a rainy day here in the U.K.,a good day to tidy my workroom and locate my punch needle, though I think I can see I need to order a decent one ,with needle choice .it is clear from your guidance that could well be why I didn't take to this delicious form of rugwork the last time. I'm pretty sure ,after many attempts , hooking is not for me , fingers crossed with your excellent guidance ,I can manage to get the punch bug. Huge thankyou for all the time it must have taken to make the videos of your incredibleartwork , and of course the way you convince us that we can do it .
I am having the hardest time with punch needle. I'm pretty crafty, and this one has me in fits. I've tried linen, cross stitch fabric, 3 strand, 6 strand.... Any time I punch close enough to not show gaps on the front side I get holes in my fabric.
I am guessing you are using to large of a needle for the fiber gauge. If you are using a needle that works with the fiber gauge you should not this problem. Weavers cloth works very well with a CTR 3 strand needle or smaller. I also for the short period of time I used the cameo ultra punch, im sorry but I found it to large for the fabric, also keep in mind the needle should not be sharp so I cuts the fiber, It should push the fiber aside not cut it. So the larger the needle the more open the fiber should be. Hope this helps. Kate
I tried punch needle embroidery a year ago and failed at it.. After finding your videos, I purchased the CRT punch needles and my projects look much better. I've watched your videos several times and they have been very helpful. You are an excellent teacher.
Jennie, I think you'll find the CTR needles are much easier to work with, with less strain on your wrists. Start out slow and build your speed slowly. I've never thought of myself as a teacher, I'm so glad I could help. Enjoy, Kate
Love your work and instructions. I checked your Etsy shop and didn’t see any CTR needles offered by you as the seller. Ended up buying a 3 strand needle but I definitely wanted to purchase from you ☹️ Please inform me for I may want to order supplies other than kits. Thank you
I am no longer selling supplies, just patterns. I thank you for your interest. Enjoy, Kate
I would love to see a video on types of stitches and their uses as well as fabric types to use. Thank you
Punch needle with embroidery Floss has only one stitch. Punch needle is like a minny rug. As far as fabrics, there are many fabrics you can punch on once you get the hang of the basics. You just need to try fabrics you have around your home to see if they work. Try and keep with the same structure as weavers cloth. For beginners, weavers cloth rules out the fabric being at fault for beginners. Hope this helps. Kate
I watched all of your videos. They are the best ones on here. Thank you so much, they are very helpful!!!
Your welcome, so glad I could help.
What if I like the front side (the side facing me when working) better than what is supposed to be the front side? Can the working side be the front side if desired? Also, I'd love to see something about different heights. Thank you so much.
I never work in different heights, although occasionally I will raise the loops on tiny detail, snowman eyes or buttons on a jacket so they don't get lost... but just a tiny bit. As for the side you like, it's totally your option, I'd go with what you like. Kate
What type of fabric do you use for this.
Natural Weavers cloth by Spring Creatives.
Will this using acrylic yarn ?
All my punch needle patterns are punched using 1,2 & 3 strands of embroidery Floss. Hope this answers your question. Kate
I love this finishing technique! I just purchased one of your printed patterns. Can you tell me the correct needle diameter to use for 3 strand floss. Thank you
I assume you are working with an ultra punch, I am not sure which needle is the three strand needle in Ultra punch, they are larger than the CTR needles in diameter. You want your needle diameter to just fit the three strands of embroidery floss not to snug not to loose...It should just run smoothly through the needle. Hope this helps. Kate
I love it, perfect
Thank you GPAP!
Hi what cloth type was used? I’m using a monk’s cloth. But i like what you used 😊
It's weavers cloth, using one strand to three strand CTR needles. Please watch the other videos it will explain my method of punching. Monks cloth is for yarns using oxford needles.
@@kategillery5001 oh no I think I’m doing it wrong 😱 I’m using Lavor needles on monks cloth and using fine weight Ice yarns. I’m just a beginner to punch needle craft.
@EDCxFamCrew there is no wrong! If it is working for you, then it's not wrong. It all depends on what you're looking for. My work is very detailed, so I use small needles. Smaller needles-tighter cloth. If you're looking for a larger size design, then you go with larger needles, threads and more open weave cloth. Hope this makes sense.
@@kategillery5001 got it thanks! 😊😊😊 I appreciate it 🤗🤗🤗

Is this a lap frame to work on? I need a larger frame, and am not sure which to get.
This is called a hookers frame..and it is mounted to a TV foldable eating table. The brand is gruber.
I can't get my thread to stay in and when it is in, the other side looks really messy 😩
Chances are you are lifting the needle off the fabric..drag it across the fabric don’t lift it…slow down don’t be in a hurry…the rhythm will come with practice. Kate
Sooo helpful!
Glad I could help
