I’m a huge Nikon user but recently bought a used Fuji XT-3, which I absolutely love. A very different style of camera/photograph from my Nikon. Hard to explain the difference…
New sub here! Amazing video
Nice one Nelson. My first trip into Fuji was X-T1. I went up, down, and back to X-T1. I get tempted now and then to try the 4 or 5 version but gave up the 2 because I liked the look from the 1. I've been through most camera brands and Fuji has become my bride for life, too. Despite the lure of medium format and what-have-you, higher this and faster that, bigger sensors and all that jazz..my little X-T just turns out pictures that are magical and is irreplaceable. All the best, I enjoyed the video, your general vibe, the oft-funky music. And that sweet XT4😉😊👍
You have a good eye my friend 👏
Looking forward to get those presets!! Brilliant work and pictures as you have us accustomed to!
Querido Nelson, cada video que subís es mejor que el anterior! Me encantan las decisiones de composición que tomás. Viendo este video tuyo me dan muchisimas ganas de salir inmediatamente con mi camara a la calle. Saludos y felicidades!
❤ Nice video & wonderful pictures!
Thank you so much! 🫶🏼🫶🏼
marvelous,marvelous,marvelous!!!
Thank you so much Soichi!
Fantastic video, fantastic shots, I'd print a dozen! I've no idea if that your height, music, some 90s movies vibes overall, but felt like I was walking there. Nice one. Good 15 minutes of creative brain therapy
Thank you so much! I'm glad you enjoyed the photos and the video! I put a lot of love in them and your kind comment motivates more to create more content. 🙂
Hello thanks for this nice video with really good inspiration you helped me make a decision about this camera.😉
Glad I could help! Enjoy the Lumix!
@@nelson.arguello thanks impatient to practice 😉
Thank you! your beautiful shots gave me ideas on how i can start my street photography hobby. You inspire me to see the beauty in plain sight, thanks!
Thank you so much! I'm glad you enjoyed the photos! Have a lot of fun starting your street photography journey! 🙌🏼🙂
5:14 love your dragging the shutter. Very Ernst Haas like. Mask On Nurse Marty (Ret)
Thank you so much! Ernst Haas is one of my favorite photographers and his work inspires me a lot! I'm glad you noticed it 🙂
Great shots 👌🏼 Would you recommend the XT4 as a good travel camera? Size/weight
Thank you so much! I'm glad you enjoyed them! If you want a camera for both photos and videos, yes. If you don't shoot videos at all I would recommend a smaller and lighter one.
@@nelson.arguello Very much enjoyed it! I only use camera for photography, video isn’t really on the radar.
Amazing shots 👍👍👍👍👍🔥
Thank you so much 🙌🏼
The bright red ones from Chinatown.. my favourites 😍👌
I'm glad you liked them 🙌🏼🫶🏼
What is your opinion on using XF27mm f2.8 lens? Which is in between the two lenses you used 23mm and 35mm
To be honest, the 40mm focal length (full frame equivalent of the XF 27mm) might be my favorite one because as you say, it's just between the 23mm and 35mm and gives you a lot of versatility, I prefer the new version because of the aperture ring and WR. And being a pancake lens adds so much to the pros list, they are very discreet and fun to use.
Subscribed! Im getting the same lens after watching your video, and you have convinced me for that!
So happin to hear that! Enjoy it!
Love this, have been watching few of your street Photography videos and you are nailing it! In your opinion what is some of the good option small used cameras for this type of photography apart from this GX80?
Thank you so much! I'm glad you enjoyed them! If you want to use a Micro 4/3 camera I would say that the GX7, 8 or 9 are solid options if you want to stay in the Lumix system. Then the Olympus OM-D E-M10 Mark III, Mark IV.
❤
🙂
Great images! Thank you for sharing. I shoot mostly with 50mm on Sony of the same reasons you do. I do not want people to react to me when a take a photo of them. I like too abstract photography.
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed them!
TY for sharing the video. I like your composition. But I think most of your photos are under exposed. Great work. They're just dark -- IMHO. I'm guessing you always have your comp set @ -0.3 to -0.7 or more. They're all "grey" up until your, "Lady on the Phone" as it had true whites (almost as I would still have preferred it a bit brighter). That said, cool capture. But in the end, your last photo had proper whites and it looked like it was properly exposed. Great shot.
Thank you Ray! Usually I don't use the exposure compensator unless it is necessary! The colours and the greys are like that just from an artistic choice, especially in b&w photos.
Fabulous eye!
Thank you so much Joaquin!
Amazing!
Thanks!
Fab!
I'm glad you enjoyed the video! 🙌🏼
Awesome tips for taking the dope street shots buddy. Gave you a sub I can't wait to see the next videos.
Thank you so much! And welcome! 🙂
Do you shoot in black and white mode or just edit them after? I just ordered this camera :D
I always shoot in raw and then edit in Lightroom. Great choice! You will have so much fun with the GX80 🙂
@@nelson.arguello These videos really inspire me! Would love to see more with the GX80 :D
Awesome video, great content. If I may make a suggestion: Cut the volume on the music down and cut the volume on your voice up. I don't know anything about video editing but if you can somehow balance the two volumes I think you could improve your overall content.
Thanks for the tip!
Loved the video and the voice over, some wonderful shots you got there. One minor issue , I think the audio mix was a little off, voice over was not very clear at some points especially at the beginning and the music was a tad too loud some times. Overall I loved how you used reflections to get some amazing shots , the tips are quite useful for newbie photographers like me. Keep up the great work :D
Thank you so much! I'm glad you enjoyed it! Yes, I got a new mic for this one and I'm still getting used to it, I'll see if it can fix the audio of the video directly here! Cheers!
nice😍
Thank you Leonid 🙌🏼
Drop the muzak it is distracting and awful.
There's a mute button I believe
Drop the attitud it is distracting and awful (spelling and punctuation could use some help, too).
What a great photos. You are my inspiration.
Wow, thank you so much! I'm glad you enjoyed the photos!
Fantásticas fotos !! En que modo disparas? Y con que programa las editas ?
Muchas gracias! Disparo siempre en RAW y luego edito en Lightroom con unos presets que cree para emular film.
I love the video, honestly, I was repulsed by MOST digital camera’s but when i went to japan i saw a highschooler using one. They asked to take my picture (probably because im a foreigner) and i agreed, after they showed me the picture they took and i was like, sagoi! 🤣 ever since then ive loved fuji cameras, theres something special about them that sets them apart
I always say that from the moment you grab a camera unexpectedly you will fall in love with it 😂
For your black and white photos, do you just use the in camera recipe, or one from light room? Great video!
I use one of my film presets to emulate film.
They don't call it nifty fifty for nothing! :) You have real talent with your use of movement, framing, color, and subject selection. Great video!
Thank you so much 🙌🏼! I'm glad you enjoyed the photos!
50mm is my favorite focal length. I use all vintage glass, so there’s a whole sea of 50mm lenses. So far my favorite is the Carl Zeiss Pancolar 50 1.8, Konica Hexanon AR 50 1.4 and the Helios 44. I also use them for street photography. I love the images you show with motion. IBIS is great for that.
That's an amazing set of lenses! Thank you for your kind comments! I'm glad you enjoyed the photos! 🙏
The 50mm focal range has been such a common staple in street photography and photography in general that it's hard sometimes to not look at a person that is new to photography like there's something wrong with them whenever they talk about this 50mm lens that's so amazing that they're using! but it's a fact that the nifty 50 has photographed more of history than just about any other focal length out there from births to the death and carnage of wars and everything in between. I grew up reading old national geographic magazines that my parents had acquired an was always seeing pictures of the photographers and most times they had a 50mm lens on the camera in their hands or hanging on their neck. I've started a collection of old cameras and lenses three of which are 50mm primes I even have the Kodak brownie camera that mother used for years plus a old camera that dad had, I really should take those out an accept the challenge that cameras like them present versus the digital cameras we're so used to using.
@@nelson.arguello you’re welcome.
Dude your photos are sick!
Thank you so much 🙏
Excellent video 😊!
@@stephanweiskorn6760 thank you! 🙏🙏
Are you shooting with 50 mm? Let me know how it is going for you with this focal length!
Ok you may have convinced me to get the LUMIX GX85. Those pictures were amazing!
Thank you! I'm glad you like them! The GX80/85 is an amazing camera, you will enjoy it a lot!
Hey, great video! Just want to leave a tip since we're gx80 twins hahaha I have a gopro7 that i use for my street pov too and had the same problem. Unfortunally I noticed that 4k gopro footage tend to get corrupter quite easily, you can try all the micro sd cards you want, this will keep happening (at least, the problem stayed for me), so now I always record in 2.7k and never had a single corrupted clip since! Hope this can help, i like your style! Next time you come to Italy let's go shoot together!
Thank you Albert! Great to have a GX80 twins haha! This is the only time that I had an issue with the GoPro footage but I think it happened when backing up from my hard drive into my computer to edit, before that it was working fine. But thanks for the tip! I'm looking forward to going to Rome and Napoli, where are you based?
@@nelson.arguello sorry for the late response! I'm based in Rome!
I just got a finepix s1000fd, and while it’s not the best camera, it’s the best I have currently. And it’s fun to take pictures with
Someone said that the best camera is the one you have with you, keep it fun!
Great video! Welcome to the Fuji world! Any chance you know where you got the tan short camera strap towards the start of the video?
Thank you! Loving it so far! The camera strap is literally the first one that I found on Amazon lol it's a very cheap one but the quality is great! amzn.to/3vjNGmG
I am rocking with XT3 and XH1 there is something about Fuji cameras that makes you wanna pick it up make art.
Couldn't agree more!
Which fuji camera do you recommend for beginner photographer(serious one)
I'm quite new to Fuji so I cannot recommend a lot, but my best advice will be to get a camera that you can take everywhere, or pocketable. something like an X-T30 or one on the X100 line that's not crazy expensive will be a good choice. The X-T4 is a good choice but is a much larger camera.
@@nelson.arguello thanks
i went with the x-s20
keep on posting brother.. good content
Thank you! 🙏Yes I will!
Welcome to Fuji, I also use XT-4 but with 18-50 from sigma
Thank you! I am very happy to join the Fuji world! How do you find that lens for street photography?
Arguello, from Nicaragua ?
From Paraguay 🙂
Welcome to Fuji 🎉 Left Nikon about 2 years ago. Got an X70 and a X-E4 and today I've added 3 more bodies and more lenses than I ever need, from 16 to 400mm 😂. But my favourite is still the X-E4 and the 35 f1.4 ❤
Thank you! 🙌🏼 How hard was making the decision? I still have the GX80 but the idea is to fully migrate to Fuji as I have another lens hanging around my bag without a body 😂
@@nelson.arguello not hard actually. I wanted something small and I wanted good SOOC Jepgs. I was tired of carrying around a big heavy camera and spending time with RAW files.
Haha, welcome to Fuji. I have a Canon R5C. It’s an amazing tool, but I never felt the urge to pick it up and roam the streets to shoot. I picked up a used XH1 body and XF 16 1.4, and all’s right with the world again, and I’m finding myself inspired to go out everyday. It’s not a sleek and pocketable form factor like the X100 series which is what I initially set out to purchase, but I’m more interested in cityscapes than people, so I don’t feel the need to be as incognito as your average street photographer. I’m seriously considering getting a 23 F2 though, because it’s so much lighter and I miss that. I used to own an XT3 + 35 F2 combo, and I didn’t realise how much I would miss it when I gave it away a couple years ago.
Thank you! The x100 series is very attractive for portability, probably will try it some day (after getting a X-pro of course haha) the 23 f2 is amazing, I have it and use it mostly for video but I'm uploading a video using it for street photography soon.
Funny you should mention the X-Pro line, I had the X-Pro 3 and loved the experience of shooting it, but you feel its weight, especially since you’re constantly tempted to change lenses, and I wound up giving that away in a bout of aggressive digital nomad downsizing 😅. I’m actually looking forward to owning my first fixed lens camera once the XV100 madness recedes somewhat and used copies hopefully turn up at sensible prices
So many great shots! Do you crop in in post often?
Thank you so much! Yes, I crop my pictures very often, especially when trying to create something more abstract.
