    I use mine every time for long boards. Repositioning your hands can make a nick on the board feeding manually, which needs to be sanded out later if making something nice. I also don't like to inhale sawdust manually ripping directly in front of the blade id I don't have to. Mines a 1/4HP held by MagSwitches so easy to move out of the way when not using.

    • @markferioli208
      @markferioli208 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Oh ya I agree with the board movement when shifting your hands. You really gotta be consistent. And yes, not standing right behind the board getting hit by the dust is nice too!

    Ive had a Holz Herr feed on my 12" powermatic tablesaw since 1980, mostly rip cabinet face frame and door stiles .... you can lift up your blade and cut into the tire, aint gonna hurt anything and a can of turtle wax is your friend, you can rejuvenate old tires by taking them off and cutting some treads in to the rubber with your bandsaw.

    Big fan here! Question from the back…what happens when the weather changes and a door starts getting sticky when you close it. Shims won’t make the gap much bigger. Will tightening the hinges help the gap at all where it closes?

    • @markferioli208
      @markferioli208 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey big fan! So that could be one solution where the screws have come loose and a simple tightening fixes it. If the holes are stripped where the screws go in, take them out and fill the holes with pieces of toothpicks and screw them back in. If this doesn’t work then the edge of the door may need to be planed down with a block plane. Hope that helps!

    Not too often do I see a power feeder used on a table saw. I have used one on my saw at times, but as you say, it is really only worth the time if you are making a lot of similar parts. Not only do you have to adjust, but it takes a bit of time to elevate etc. AND it is DAMN heavy! I use one on my shaper all the time. Additionally I use it on one of my jointers most of the time. I find that by putting the feeder on the out feed of a jointer, (not worth it on a small jointer but VERY worth it on anything 12" and up) you get a much nicer finish and much more planer. As to the wheels not working, yes, soak them in thinners. Softens the wheel a bit but also cleans it so it grips better. Also keep that table well waxed so that materials really slip on it. (just like your planer bed).

    The 2 little hoses on top the ones you said your not sure what they are. Where does that hose connect to I see it running down under the seat. On my bike the hose was just laying off to the side I didn't see any indents on the end from a hose clamp... my bike runs better if I pinch it but I can not find where it belongs haynes has a manual i wasnt trying to spend 50 bucks on one but i might as well. The bike came with a parts bike of the same year im probably gonna get them bith running

    • @markferioli208
      @markferioli208 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Ya mine goes under the seat and just hangs down to the bottom of the bike. Not hooked up to anything. So I still don’t fully understand if this is right but after doing a quick search it says it’s for the air to escape so the bowl can fill up with gas. So maybe by pinching it, not as much gas is getting through the carb making it run lean. Which if it runs better, then maybe your carb is running too rich? This is all a guess though. I’ll do some more research!

    • @markferioli208

Not easy to work on this Shadow 600, everything is very compact and it takes a lot of patience... which I lack sometimes. I watched a few other vdo's about carb removal/cleaning/reassembly, which I needed because my Honda was not doing so well. For my part, by following step by step your maneuvers, I managed to remove, disassemble and reassemble my carburetors. I'm quite happy with the result. I'll have to start the engine. I hope, see the work...if it was well done. I will give you a follow-up in the next few weeks.

    I have a 96 vlx I'm working on. Been trying to find a video on carb removal/installation. THANK YOU SO MUCH. By far the best and clearest video I've found. Keep up the great work and thank you again.

    How tall is handlebar? Can you send me link if you bought it online? Im searching some handlebars that don't need to use longer cables.

    Mark, have you done a video of when you did the prep and paint? I plan to do the same but I’m worry about the visible small dents when paint

    • @markferioli208
      @markferioli208 ปีที่แล้ว

      I didn’t. I should have. I used bondo to smooth out all my dents. I sanded it down then used a high build primer from a spray can and sanded that. I painted it with krylon spray paint. I then used a 2k clear coat and followed the directions on the can for that. I got that on Amazon. The 2k clear coats protects the paint if any gas spills on it. I can tell you it works really well since my original gas cap leaked all over it!!

      Thanks for the answer. I’ll try to do the same.

    Where can I find front and rear fenders like this at ????? HELLLLLLLLPPPPP

    • @markferioli208
      @markferioli208 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Smirf. The front fender is the stock fender and the rear I got from TJ Brutal. Check out my video on the fender fix. When I got it the fender had a bunch or grooves from when it was made so I show you how I smoothed it all out before painting it.
