Building The Ultimate Twin Engine RC Car
This saddens me. I ran Novarossi engines in my truggys 12 years ago and they were top of the line for me. Never liked the temperament of OS engines. Looking to jump back into racing truggys. I think I'd rather deal with the OS engine after seeing all the bad Nova reviews.
Definitely hit or miss. My first engine was junk but the replacement engine is great so far
What diameter is the clutch?
Be aware that lubricating threads changes torques. It can be easier to over torque parts on the proper settings.
I’m aware im a mechanic
i could listen to that all day.great build
👍👍👍
The T6r isnt square , 17mm x 17.5mm...she rips no doubt , I have 3 2 of which are modded, but she isnt square
Not exactly no
@@thenitronation5815 what do you mean "no". A square engine has the same bore as stroke , No engines made my Nova currently are square , their .24 engines are all .1mm less in bore and stroke vs the Novarossi Roma . 17.5 stroke and a 17mm bore isnt square. 17.5 bore and 17.5 stroke would be square
Nova needs to hire some of Novarossi's prior builders or something. That's just careless engine assembly to have debris sitting in a fresh motor. They have a quality control issue. How do you get shavings inside of such a little engine. Do they pre run these prior to selling them? I just don't understand how you can have machining debris in a fresh motor. And in regard to the bearing, it must be old stock from Novarossi. Well they will learn quickly if this type of thing becomes a common issue. They should have been going above and beyond to avoid issues like these
They must not clean them enough after the final machining process, no they are not pre run. But I agree they really have to work on stuff like this
Im thinking of doing my own twin build. It won’t be in a savage but in a drag car. I saw you ran both engines off of one gas tank. I’m hoping to do the same due to space limitations. Any tips on fuel line splitting? Also any other issues? Linkages seem pretty straight forward but I’ll take all the advice you got from what you learned.
Hey man cool stuff. I haven’t experimented too much with the single tank setup I just tried to make the lines equal length (not sure if it makes a difference or not) I’ve noticed tuning in a little more difficult though since both engines share back pressure from one tank.
Rick Brake the man of nitro them LRP's sound so good
Long video, contains none of the information I was waiting for. Thanks for the time waste 👍
That’s awesome!
@@thenitronation5815 yeah right, why don’t you make new video on how to wipe your ass? Could be informative. As much as this video.
Right on will do, if you don’t like it then why are you here?
@@thenitronation5815 I’m here because you click baited me successfully. I’m Looking for any sort of actual feedback on this engine in terms of performance, tuning or durability? Vs the OS as this video is named. I’d name this video “removing my OS engine and installing a nova engine”.
@Gggggghhvvbbb I love my nova but they have lots of quality control issues so I’m not so sure id recommend one over an os, you get an os you know it’ll be perfect both tuning and reliability. The os in that video had a little over 7 gallons and all original parts on it. My nova b5r was junk from day one it just never ran right and the thing kept crumbling so nova took it back and replaced it with a t6r evo and that thing has been perfect.
when i got one for free i was like lol look at this stupid thing.... 2mins later WOW BEST THING EVER!!!
Nice job were can I get them parts from
Hey were can I get them parts from?
It's almost too much power 😂 looking like it's pretty hard to drive , but at the same time looking very fun 😁 I guess it's the 5.9 in your Savage? Sounds great to 🙂 Did you find any performance difference from the regular tuned pipe?
Yes lots of power from the 5.9 but it’s thirsty, the novarossi 28-8 I had in before had even more power and way better on fuel. But yes this pipe makes way more of a difference than the Hpi tuned pipe.
That's gonna be insane!!!
Where can you buy the Routh pipes? I can't find them online. Thanks for the great vids!
Hey, I found him on Facebook Hunter Routh and sent him a pm. Good guy and got it out to me quick.
are they belted tyres or the normal ones
Non belted
hi just subbed, cool vids, just wondering i want the centre srainless steel driveshafts like yours for my savage x 4.6 reverse. When i check manual it says 78mm and the other 84mm but when i check the stainless ones they are 77mm and 83mm, is manual wrong or will 1mm off not be a problem, thanks
That I’m not too sure actually, I haven’t had my savage apart in years😅
@@thenitronation5815 no prob cheers I might get only 1mm difference cheers
That routh pipe wakes up the f5.9!
It sure does!
Very powerfull...do not forget the body!!!😃
Good 👍 to see you back bro awesome job bro 🤜💯🇦🇺💥🔥
Rocks are so overpowerd, need nerf!
Can't wait to see how this runs when you get it broke in. 👍
Looking good so far. I know you've got a roma aswell be interested to see how it compares as i love my roma but spares are very hard to find so would like a replacement engine.
So far this engine is a blast and similar in performance to the Roma.
Get back in and leaning towards the truggy! But you video is great! Sucks tho, seems like parts are being discontinued and harder to find!
I use morgan fuel has a nice tuning window 20% nitro 16% oil morgan fuel is the same as sidewinder and vp fuel
Dude that thing must be a wheelie machine! With that wheelbase its like throwing an LS in a lifted jeep bro.
O.S.
I was about to buy one of these, but now i just wont. They have 0 quality control for what it seems...
Definitely seem hit or miss
I wish Os still made .18’s
Question why are you covering the air filter?
It’s an outerwear, it’s an extra layer you put on the air filter it keeps the air filter from getting as dirty and promotes longer engine life.
@@thenitronation5815 got it! Thanks.
Love that bearing tool. Where did you get it?
AMain’s
Wow that's fu ked. Can't believe that with this new company I have seen a few like this now
Are you concerned with the QC of this engine?
I was at first but I think it’ll be fine
@@thenitronation5815 aka would you recommend me buy one of their engines for a buggy I’m building?
Any videos of this truggy running this engine???
Coming soon!
Great vid bruh, These nova engines got what it takes but yeah you MUST tear down and inspect everything before you start the thing. The G9R engine for on road is a monster
Hell yeah brother awesome!!!🔥🔥👊
Definitely wouldn’t be running any of those novas for racing ever since jarred Wiggins started running them he hasn’t been competitive seems like he is always having an issue
Is he having an issue with the engine, or just problems in general?
@@jonpye8655 you didn’t catch all the metal that came out of it? You shouldn’t have to dis assemble a factory assembles race engine to check for metal and to actually find metal is just unacceptable
Nova is novarossi. Thats why the old bearing.
Sounds so damn good! NITRO GANG 🎉
Great content 🎉I learned a lot .. that is insane the inside of the motor😮 but good to know it’s common I never knew that! Thanks 🙏
Looks nice
Its looking much better than the first batch of Novas. The ports are Big! The crank window aswell! This engine is not designed for fuel economy ! Is the crankshaft still as tight as it was in the b5? This is very interesting, I wish I had one in my hands to check the numbers and compare it to my p324. If you are happy with it in the long run, I may try one 🤔 A shame for the wrist pin and the steel bearing.. but you cant complain, you got much better aftermarket service than me 😆
Yeah for sure, I’m much more happy with the t6r than the b5r the fit and finish is much better, the crank comes out of the block like it should. And it runs fantastic much more reliable than the b5r once again. End of this season I’ll disassemble this engine and see how it’s held up.
@@thenitronation5815 I bought this engine in febuary, and i have had nothing but problems with it. My initial experience was like yours, fired up and ran beautifully through the break in process. a week later i take the car out just to do some tuning and run some more fuel through it, did not touch any setting on the carb and it just gags on fuel all through the midrange. last week i tore the engine down, found the DLC coating has flaked off the crankshaft, midspeed needle had a torn o ring, . i was shocked at how easily you are able to remove the head and sleeve- i had to heat gun the snot out of mine and it was still very difficult to remove. i replaced the midspeed needle and took it for a quick test drive still acts about the same, just no power, always loaded up on fuel. can you tell me where your needle settings are at and what % of nitro you're running? ive been figting with this thing for 5 months and im at my wits end
@nateharris1918 my b5r was like that, it was a dud just nothing went right with it. I would just try to return it like I did mine. I thought this t6r was going to be the same way but so far it has been flawless, break in was easy, took 10 minutes or less to tune, has lots of power and runs consistent. I run it on 30%
QC is a problem for them still then eh? Edit: The BRAAAAAAAAAAAAAPPPP is godly though ❤😂
My question is how did your get both carbs working off the same throttle servo?
Carefully lol I put one linkage on the top of the throttle arm and one on the bottom. I think I show this more in the build series I did
@@thenitronation5815 I will definitely have to check it out!
