To me, finishing stuff in Maschine is a chore compared to working in Ableton Live. Lots of things that don't work as you'd expect it from experience with other DAWs, so many basic features are still missing 15 years after v1.0 and development is basically dead with 1 or 2 new features every 5 years or so (if any). Still regret buying this thing. If you want a real DAW try live and if you need a controller, get yourself a Push as well.
I saw Maschine MK3 and Linkin Park in the same sentence and clicked immediently
An added benefit is the embedded sound card. This is something that the MPC Studio does not have. It's relevant if you want to use Traktor and. the Tractor X1 Mk3 which does not have a embedded sound card.
The machine is good I recently got a machine plus when NI had a price drop I have that and an mpc
Hey :) thanks for your content. It really helps me as I am new to Maschine. I have a question: I bought some expansions and when I load them I get an error in Maschine that says VST2 plugins are not supported anymore from Apple Silicon Processors (I have a M1). How can I solve this issue? It's also happening with the default Maschine expansions you get when you buy it.
Native instruments have not focused on being a daw because there are so many others out there. I'm sure they could produce one if they wanted to, but it would come at the cost of attention to their sweet spot, which is actual sound. Instead, they've focused on sound production, which is something so many others cannot compete with. It clearly is part of their strategy to work this way. Otherwise, they would have done it.
Great take!! At a minimum tho I would love if they updated maschine software tho
what? even a handicapped Maschine is better than an MPC lol. They better stick with hardware. Maschine just needs better software and better integration. They dropped the ball not putting pads on the S series mk3s.
Update rate from NI is nothing.
It’s true unfortunately
I'm not sure if it's my style, but that's a nice direct and fast workflow.
Yeah I love the maschine workflow!!!
Maschine is not a DAW. It is not advertised as a DAW by Native Instruments. It has never been advertised as a DAW. That being said, it is an amazing hardware and software application to compose beats and song ideas with. But you will absolutely need a DAW to finish a song with vocals and all that.
It’s true! I jump around from maschine to logic. But as far as beat making goes I don’t have much of an issue using the maschine software
So uh…. My gripe with the maschine is the maschine software itself. If it didn’t suck so badly, then maybe I could justify buying one, but seeing as my s88 just went eol and is not supported *at all* not just not updated but disabled, it gives me bad taste for NI hardware.
Yeah that’s totally fair. They often fall behind on updates
Thanks for sharing !!
Thanks appreciate it!!
I love maschine mk3! i have one, but it's not analog gear.
My bad! Like I said in another comment I meant external hardware!
I love my Maschine very much. I just wish I could figure out a quick workflow of resampling with FX.
Yeah totally valid!
adding instruments crashes it? Not a fan
Only if you’re loading up a ton of fx for all 16 pads. Usually it’s chill. Also might have to get a new Mac 🥴
I only recently looked into the Maschine. On my Elektron Samples I can quantize my recorded sequences non-destructively and better still, I can choose an amount of quantization, 7 bits of choice. I really appreciate this fine tuning in order to keep a human feel. Is the Maschine capable of this?
They do offer swing and amount of quntization you’re wanting
@@BlackBeltTitus Goody!
So the advice is to trash the midi keyboard and use a drum machine as midi keyboard!? 😅 I got tired of my Akai mini. 25 keys is very limiting. I have ordered a Korg midi keyboard with 37 keys and two modwheels.
Yeah that’s totally fair!! I’m just not much of a keyboardist myself
I make nu metal on mine . Gonna start a channel man not enough maschine stuff on TH-cam recently !!!
Totally agree! Not enough maschine content on TH-cam rn! That’s why I started my channel
Maschine Mk3 User too, be aware The Maschine In No Way Shape or form is it analog Gear, it's Just A Midi Controller/Audio Interface Maschine+ Could be considered as such tho
True I meant to say external gear! I even said I use a midi keyboard! My bad!! Good correction!!!
Just a GREAT video. Well done and learned a LOT!!!!
Great to hear you learned!!! Thanks so much!! Love making videos on vsts
#maschinegang
Represent!!!
@@BlackBeltTitus yessir!! Love your videos!! When you find an instrument or sound you like in note repeat use random for new inspiration.
Not enough people make maschine content on TH-cam!! Keep it going, love maschine!
More to come! Love the maschine content creation!
That bass slaps! Is monark by NI?
Yeah monark goes hard!!!
I agree!! Use the chord mode all the time!!!
Me too!!! So useful!!
The Maschine is a beast. It’s a one stop shop. You can make almost anything on that device. 😎👍🏽
It’s true!! Totally a powerhouse for beat making!!
Love the video man!! Thanks so much for all the maschine content! Never stop dropping vids
Don’t plan on it!! It’ll stay coming
We are on the same track but you are one step ahead ! 😆 I try to produce with the mk3 and analog lab v in logic and i was just thinking how it‘d be to perform more live with the mk3 with imported loops and samples! Good job and maybe we catch up in the future ! 🤩
That's awesome!! So happy to hear whenever someone is using the MK3! Also thanks so much!!
Your thumbnail got my attention. Splice or LoopCloud versus NI Expansions? …or just free 3rd party loops and samples? The as I watched, I see you’re using free or low cost 3rd party libraries like Arturia. I guess your point is that you don’t necessarily need Splice, if you’ve got all these other sound sources, but online sample libraries with 10M - 14M loops probably aren’t going away.
Yeah 100%!!! I don’t hate splice or anything but I do tend to lean more towards making my own samples! It was hard when I first started but keeps me more creative for sure!
I figured out how to do transitions and live creation with maschine+ in standalone
That’s fire!!! Lmk how!!
Nice video.....I love using my N.I vst's for song starters. Most are actually good enough to make it to the completed version of the beat.
For sure!!! NI instruments for crazy!
I propose ideas for new videos... -how to add our sample libraries in an external hard disck location and how to change it easy -how to make note repeat only in one pad ? because It affect all pads -how tu use piano roll faster -what is the best service to buy samples and how to sell our own samples. -how to open FL studio VSTs in maschine -how to use less memory ram in your proyects -how to export the samples with effect included to play it in other sampler and DAW -
Definitely putting those in my list of ideas!! Keep em coming!
Maschine Software 3.0 .MP3 support .SF2 support audio tracks unlimited, stem separation. What NI should do is bring back their whole line of Maschine products like they had in the past this is why Akai is winning or is ahead of the game. Maschine studio Plus give it dual flip up touch screens (nice to have that option but still have all the buttons as usual) where you can flip up the screens individually or one long screen that flips up like on their S series controllers, 8 outs 2 xlr combo inputs with 48v phantom power for condenser mics 4 1/4 inch inputs, phono inputs, CV outs 8. Stem separation, full intergration of certain Komplete and Isotope instruments, with sound design capabilities, all the things the current Maschine has, MP3 support .SF2 support, 10 audio tracks, vocal suite, internal HDD front SD card slot, 4 midi puts 2 midi inputs, 16gb Ram. Totally agree!!!
Black Belt Titus you are right and wrong at the same time. A lot of people want stand alone Maschines. What NI should do is bring back their whole line of Maschine products like they had in the past this is why Akai is winning or is ahead of the game. NI should make a flag ship Maschine. Yeah I personally think they should just lock in especially on the software side. don’t abandon standalone. I just don’t think it should be their main concern.
so dope
Facts I love the MK3!!!
I love maschine plugins but unfortunately the sound of the sample instruments sound machiney. Especially hybrid keys until it was filtered through thermal. Is thermal a NI plugin or is that by someone else?
It’s by output, but output is pattered with Native! I get what you mean but I personally love the maschine sound!
Bro even when you buy a good quality steak from the store......it needs some seasoning
Its a steep learming curve but its a beast...
Totally agree!! Definitely worth learning! The workflow on maschine is insane
Sigh....I wish a new mv would drop.
Agree!!
No, if they want to compete, you definitely need to worry about STANDALONE!! BUT yes definitely fix the daw as well, the mk4 need a new daw and better standalone
I really hope they update the DAW!! Not saying they should totally disregard standalone! Just saying the software should be the main concern!
Dude! No disrespect, but you look like a cluck head rhythmless nation chicken! Love the video, just keep your head still! Lol!
The Micro MK3 looks nice and the added drums sounds are good but it’s integration with DAW is crap and feel like selling the donkey, it’s just too stubborn.
Yeah using it in your primary DAW is definitely not ideal!! Really hoping they make the integration better!! Or NI makes their own DAW
Great review and explanation! (I left Logic too, tried Waveform Traction, then Maschine Micro and now landed on SeratoStudio as it works like a Maschine but without a hardware just on my laptop, and adding a DJ controller gives me the Maschine hardware feel for when I want it.) ..... you should make a video answer my 5 reasons why I left Maschine: th-cam.com/video/TQmkP8zMRzM/w-d-xo.html
Thanks for sharing!!! Definitely will consider it!!!
you're so insane with the MK3!!!! please keep dropping vids!!!
Thanks so much!!! Definitely will keep dropping
One thing tho man, is you resampled and then didn't change it at all other than bpm lol. It's the exact same chops you started with so it was pretty pointless. If you woulda made 8 chops or used detect you mighta had more variation to work with and actually change something about it...or just kept it how you had (& have) it without resampling to save storage space & hassle lol Appreciate the videos tho. Even after 7 years on Maschine I still pick up new techniques by seeing different workflows.
Yeah it’s true 😂 it wasn’t changing the bpm of the sample tho! So I had to sample to slice it up!! Just cut that part out of the video!!! Happy you’re enjoying the vids!!
VeryNice, Go For It!
Thanks so much!!!
Maschine is so fun , I like it too ! Good video Titus !
Thanks so much!!! I really appreciate it!!!
Bro, you're a MASCHINE! Sick beat.
Thanks!! Appreciate it!!
you make this look so easy man ... such great videos
Thanks so much!!! Makes me want to keep making em!!!
Please never stop ! For real ! I’m new to all of this and I’m learning more and more every day by watching your videos
maybe you can answer this , I bought my mk3 a few months back, got everything installed on my mac and loaded all the programs etc . Ive been playing around with everything but BATTERY wont load , i tried contacting NI for advise but they got me nowhere ... Every time i try to load battery it just gives me errors saying CAN NOT LOAD on the display screens , all the other packs work fine just not battery. have you ever experienced anything similar?
@@haus05 have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling it in Native access? That is what worked for me. I had a similar issue with butch vig drums. If you uninstall and reinstall you should be good!!
I can’t uninstall it as it came with my mk3 and KOMPLETE 14 or whatever version I have … it wasn’t something I downloaded it was like one of the built ins
Massive goes so hard!!!
Fr!! Sounds insane!!!
I’ve been sharing your videos with other producers that are trying to figure out what to buy. They find your videos informative and have them leaning towards NI. Keep the videos coming. 😎👍🏽
That’s such a huge encouragement!!! Thanks for sharing the videos!! This comment got me hyped!! Love helping out other producers!!!
That beats insane!!! You’re so fire with maschine
Thanks so much!!!
