i think the most popular DAWs for music production on the planet are #1 Ableton Live #2 Logic Pro (although Pro Tools still popular inside the multi million dollar studios due to its compatibility with expensive hardware rooting) but Live and Logic are dominating the game. if you don’t believe me feel free to use whatever you like 👍

I'm a Reason User, have tried Ableton, its got terrible CPU issues so usless to Me, which is a shame because I liked it's function. Traid MPC Beats (Full version should be called MPC Pro, but instead is stupidly just called MPC) Good but not better then Reason. This year I will be trying FL Studio demo.
Several years ago i bought a Presonus Firestudio mobile (for €249) to use with my mbp (mid 2012, upgraded almost at max, repaired by me and, for others serious issues, by an experienced technician of a small service center last year). The bundle included Studio one artist License (currently upgraded to ver. 6). Considering that i'm no music producer (well, not for a living) and that i managed to make a good amount of recordings of classical, acoustic and e. guitars, vocals, efx ecc. at almost decent quality, i guess, learning from scratch and following various tips by experts, from various sources, about recordings and mixing (although still struggling on the quest for a satisfying/decent classical guitar recordings), i'm satisfied with it and i think this DAW offers the opportunity to make really decent recordings, the limit is me!
You should make videos on complete songs you make. I only have Maschine and Mk3 and would like to see how you use that with your DAWs. I’m hopefully NI will make Maschine a better DAW!!
Great video! I’m a Logic guy, but have a Maschine Mikro on Maschine 2. When considering an upgrade to Maschine 3, I’m second guessing why I even bother with Maschine at all? Most people just use Maschine like a drum app and that’s crazy over-kill. Plus, all the Maschine kits and expansions are available via Battery 4, which you can use in Logic. Do you use Maschine with Logic, and at what point do you move your work from Maschine into a DAW?
Logic has free updates for life too and only costs $200 for the single, Pro version. The full, all in FL version costs more than double the cost of Logic. So much for “good value”. Nothing, I say NOTHING beats Logic in terms of value.
@@drvoodoo3073 True but FL studio is cross-platform that's something to point out especially if you have to count the fact that you have to buy a mac that is not cheap. At the moment I think Studio One is a better Logic Pro for the same reason
That was what I did. I almost never use Maschine anymore because Ableton is much more versatile. When I only want to get out some quick ideas, or the foundations of a beat to get going, I go to Maschine because the combo software/hardware is almost perfect.
Logic Pro has the best chance of being future proof. The future of DAWs depends on advancements in 1) cloud, 2) mobile, and 3) AI. Apple is heavily investing in all of these. Pro Tools is too greedy and going down the toilet slowly. Ableton is too dependent on electronic music. Studio One and FL Studio are OK.
All that matters are the results you get, I my self use to use cakewalk pro back in the 90's when Logic audio was a pc application and I didn't like the work flow compared to cakewalk and cubase, I remember when fl studio came along and it was like a revelation for beat making compared to the sloppy way the others worked, but at that time you could forget about doing any kind of audio tracking as if there was a short coming in fl studio it was just that, the crazy thing is even back then their motto was free life time updates, and that kept their word to this day. I use to get quest on what do I use to make beats on and when I spoke about fl studio back then I would get laughed at and told I should be using cubase or logic back in my college days (lol I'm very old) but at that time I was leagues ahead of them as I was a computer geek running mainly software synthesisers that were unheard of back then coming from hardware such as Emu Mo'Phatt, Roland jv-1080 and Novation mini nova to software changed my life as all that midi wiring and patching was a pain and joy but not missed and being in the digital domain presented a non existent noise floor that all that hardware couldn't match. Apologies for the rant, just reminiscing lol. Music is art and should not be governed by so much red tape on production techniques to the extent that the end result is lifeless.

@BlackBeltTitus It's devices are its highlight, the DAW is reliable but lacks some of of the more complex functions of other DAWs.

Why did you completely leave out Reaper ?
Fairly spot on except you (may not know much about it) omitted the big dog for film scoring - Cubase. Which is pretty close to logic but better.
For all production, Ableton Live 12.1, hands down. UA Luna for mixing/mastering.
Ironically most pro level EDM producers use logic now over Ableton especially now that logic has a in the box stem spliter
Have used most of them for 35 years. Reaper is great DAW with lowest CPU consumption and no issues with any plugin.
