ANARTOMY - Learn Anatomy by Drawing It Out!
Hello! I'm Charlie, an anatomy lecturer and medical illustrator at Leeds University. I always found the best way to learn anatomy was by drawing it, so I've created these videos to hopefully help others learn this amazing subject (and live my dreams of being the medical world's answer to Neil Buchanan).
Please remember, none of these video are designed to be a test of your drawing skill. If you can write your name semi-legibly*, you'll be more than able to create these illustrations.
If you have any ideas or requests for future topics, please just get in touch!
Cheers!
*I'm aware this may be a challenge if you're an aspiring doctor.

Blood Supply to Palm feat. Allen's Test
Anatomical variations are often interesting, but not always important. In this video, I'm looking at the blood supply to the hand and a vascular variation that it's well worth knowing about. Please note, I'm not a doctor, so the section on Allen's test covers the principles of how the test works, but isn't guidance for how best to perform it (particularly the fist pumping bit).

Hello! Sorry, I've been away for so long (it turns out new babies are adorable, but also take quite a bit of time - who knew?), butI hope you're all keeping well and enjoying your anatomy studies! In this video, I thought I'd try something a bit different and look at the anatomy of my favourite party trick*. *Please note, this challenge isn't entirely infallible, a small number of people have l...
The Facial Nerve [featuring Bell's Palsy vs Stroke]

Surface Anatomy of the Heart
มุมมอง 4.9K2 ปีที่แล้ว
In part three of our thoracic review, we're looking at how you can locate and listen to the heart using surface landmarks. Featuring the usual drawings, a one-legged skeleton and a fruit-based embryological demonstration. You can download the illustration here: tinyurl.com/2y973mp3 Uncertain about the sternal angle? Surface Landmarks of the Chest
มุมมอง 1.4K2 ปีที่แล้ว
And we're back! A new job and a new location, but the same 'quality' of anatomical material you've come to expect. In this video, we're looking at the surface landmarks of the chest, discussing the major landmarks for counting ribs and finding vertebral levels. Nerve Supply to the Larynx (feat. the Recurrent Laryngeal Nerve)
มุมมอง 7K2 ปีที่แล้ว
If you love learning neck-based neuroanatomy, then you've come to the right place! In this video, I'll be looking at the major laryngeal nerves, drawing out their course, discussing their function and explaining how they can get injured. Maltracking of the Patella
มุมมอง 16K2 ปีที่แล้ว
The patella generally does a great job of protecting our knee, but, sometimes, it becomes the thing it swore to destroy: a cause of pain in the joint. In this video, we'll draw out the way this can happen, looking at what mal-tracking is, why it can happen and how to (potentially) fix it. Nerve Supply to the Upper Limb: The Peripheral Nerves
มุมมอง 3.7K2 ปีที่แล้ว
So, you've drawn your brachial plexus and know your major nerves of the upper limb, but where do they go next? In this video, we'll follow those nerves out into the upper limb, drawing where they go and looking at what they do. Plus, Anita (our anatomy tech) gets to live a dream and actually land a punch on me. Click here to download the bones: tinyurl.com/226nr94d You can find blank limbs for ...

มุมมอง 40K2 ปีที่แล้ว
To misquote Olivia Newton John, let's get clinical, clinical, as we look at two nerve injuries with potentially similar presentations. We'll be looking at which nerves have been injured, how to tell them apart and unpicking the mysteries of the 'ulnar paradox'.
