Vera Lynn June 1994
Dame Vera Lynn at the age of 77, performing aboard the QE2 in 1994 to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the 'D' Day Landings of June 6th 1944. For the benefit of our American cousins, Vera Lynn was known as the 'Forces Sweetheart' during World War 2 and lifted the morale of British troops both at home and abroad. She was appointed 'Dame Of The British Empire' in 1975 and in March 2008 will celebrate her 91st birthday. Her performance is introduced by the veteran US broadcaster Walter Cronkite.

He returned to England for a final show to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Normandy D Day landings which took place on June 6th 1944. An added bonus is to hear his talented wife Delores who appears with him.

Here is Howard being interviewed on the 'Bruce Forsyth Show' in 1993 shortly after completing his 'Farewell Tour' of Great Britain. The project which he mentions in Branson, never materialised as ultimately the finance was never forthcoming. This meant that he was free to return to Britain the following year for another tour.
