What’s up y’all and welcome to my TH-cam channel! I made this channel to share my life experiences and lessons learned from them as a young Airman in the United States Air Force. As a young Airman, I don’t know it, all nor have everything figured out, but I do hope that as I continue to learn and grow, you join me in my journey so that we can do so together!

Pros and Cons of Joining the Military in 2021
มุมมอง 2.3K3 ปีที่แล้ว
Here’s a brief overview of what I feel like are the biggest pros and cons of joining the military in 2021. I know with all of the instability going on in the world, a lot of people are weighing their options with the military being in their radar. Well being a new Airman, I can say I don’t know it all, but as I continue to learn more, I’ll definitely continue to share my knowledge in hopes of h...

I will be looking for ,more of the same from others that has served there.. Once again, thanks.. I know this video is at least 3yrs old. lol. but its okay.. Best of luck with your career. .

Joe, I’m not your Mom but I’m so incredibly proud how far you’ve come! Not everyone can be the 1%, you Sir are such a fine young man and a tribute to your family and upbringing 🙏🏼♥️🇺🇸God bless you and yours.
Great video. Thanks!
I’m in Guam right now been doing scuba. Thinking about doing this
Were you RED HORSE or base CE?
How is it for married couples with children?
Hey Joe as a local Guamanian man, hope you enjoyed your stay here! Planning to enlist this summer. Hopefully I get Guam as well.
Thank you so much for sharing Joe l have dear ones over there now and l just wanted to see their world. I wish you all the very best.
Awesome video. I was stationed in Guam at Anderson 86-89. Some of the best friends I ever made were there. And many have passed on so make sure you soak in and enjoy every minute there because life is but a minute. You seem to be doing that already tho. You should put in for Japan next assignment. Misawa was great. Be well!
Hey Joe, beautiful video. Wheres your next assignment? Take care
Thanks for the awesome video, Joe! I was stationed on Andersen from 1979-1980 and remember those dorms but they have definitely changed. I remember I was on the top floor, pretty close to the middle dorm. The outside base movie theatre and the Latte Stone were very close. Best wishes to you and your future endeavors!
What is your job in the Airforce?
The best part of living in the transportation dorm when I was there in 89 to 90, Right next to the Class 6 store, literally a 3 min walk from my room.
You ain't working hard in the AF. 😊Yes, a boonie car is what we used to call them...or guam bombs. I loved being stationed there. AF had the best food tho. Enjoy your stay!
Hey bro I’m at tech school right now and Guam is my duty station as well. I will be there in April. I’m super excited! If it’s cool with you maybe we can exchange numbers and you can tell me all the fun there is to do there.
Hey Joe, where have the time flown by for sure. Proud of you. Put in that TACT; CCT packet yet? Ha ha! Take care
Looks like Wingnuts to me🤣I did Army basic training there in 1980, & was permanent party there bro, 1984-1987! I loved the place back then & know it's changed a whole lot since. Looked like Specker Barracks back there to me, I spent about 1 year there too. Good video too by the way. SGT R. Hell
wow this is amazing i’ll be in guam for my first assignment and i’ve been nervous about it but this video really helped me get a good outlook on it there’s so much to do there so i want to thank you for this video your amazing and i’m sorry for your loss🙏🏾
Wow this was great info guam is my first duty station and i’m very nervous about going but this video definitely helped a lot i know i’m very late though lol
It isnt "free food", you are paying for it. And it isnt a "little" that is taken out of your check. It is a good enough. So I wouldnt do too much food shopping. The majority of your food should come from the meals you're already paying for. Because they are going to charge you BAS whether a person eats thoses meals or not.
I hate when there isnt a sink inside the bathroom. Now everytime someone walks out the bathroom they have to spread their germs on the handle everytime first.
Hey! Thanks so much for the tour. My husband got his next orders here, glad to see what we're getting ourselves into haha!
Good luck on your next assignment. Just left AAFB as well.
Thank you! you too!
Thank you for sharing ❤
Nicely presented video.
Thank you!
Future SF here brodie loved this video! sending positive vibration to you and your family 🤟 I read in the comments that you're stationed at Yokota AFB, Japan which sounds amazing! is there Anyway you can do a dorm room tour? I would really appreciate that!
I gotchu man💯 thanks for your support and I’m wishing you the best during your process of joining🙏🏿
@@joemilleriv likewise bro wishing you the best, cant wait for the new vid ‼️🤘🏽🙌🏽
I enjoyed your video. I lived on Guam as a kid in the early 80's while my dad was stationed at Anderson AFB with the B-52's. Thanks for sharing.
I hope you enjoyed your time there as I did, even though it’s been awhile. This place will always have a place in my heart
Joseph I'm so proud to call you my son and friend! Congratulations on your successful completion of your assignment in Guam. Stay safe and blessed in Tokyo. I'll be there to see you.
Thank you🙏🏿❤️ love and appreciate you for being here with me every step of the way:)
This is dope Joe! Continue enjoying life bro🫡✊🏾
Waddup Ian! Thanks bro🙏🏿 hope you’re doing well
Yessir new vid. Rip to your pops Also. I know he’d be proud fam.🙏🏾💯 keep it up bro.
Thanks bro🙏🏿💯
just got orders to guam but idk if i wanna take em bc i don’t wanna extend the year and 4 months extra 😭
Mmm… that’s what I did to accept my orders to Japan. I personally think 2 years is perfect for Guam. 3 years is pushin it if you take things slow. 4 years might be a little too long especially if you get bored quickly and don’t plan on traveling around the Asian pacific while over there
Hi Joe your video came up on my youtube feed. I remember sending several messages back and forth with you shortly after you arrived at Guam. I am prior Air Force. I was a Captain in the Nurse Corps. I wish you well on your journey and sorry to see your Dad transitioned into the hands of the father. Continue to be encouraged and do great things in life. Which station are you headed to next? Your video was amazing especially the part where you got Baptized and gave your life fully to Christ! God Bless You!
Thank you🙏🏿 I appreciate you staying in touch! I know it’s been awhile. I pcs’d to Yokota AFB, Japan! Been here since March and I’m loving every second of it:) I’ll be here for the next 3 years
Make sure you guys check the description for links to help Typhoon Mawar relief efforts in Guam!🇬🇺❤️
Keep Guam in your prayers.
🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿
My man! Was so happy to see your car on the reveal! Smart move paying cash for such a reliable vehicle! Will definitely serve you well and you didn't waste any hard earned money! Stack while you are there and get all the training/experience you can get! And stay away from the chicken 🐔 heads and mud ducks! They're nothing but trouble!
LOL Thank you!
Hello from VA. I know I'm like 2 years late on this video lol But I came across it because I was wondering what Guam looked like. Looks like so much fun. Enjoy it! I'm 38 now but regret not joining the military. It looks like alot of fun and lots of adventure.
It is an adventure for sure! Although sometimes I question if I want to make it a career, I never regret joining lol
Unbelievable, you did what! You're a brave man Joe Miller. Glad you had fun and excitement. Also, I can't wait for your content from Japan. I've been stationed in Kadena AFB.
Thank you! I’m loving japan so far. How’d you like Kadena ??
Love your videos. My friends are Chomora and telling me I gotta visit Guam. I lived in American Samoa for many years before moving to Australia but well Heading to Guam in October. Looking forward to it.cheers Bro…. CLIFFY
There’s a lot of similarities between the Samoans and Chamorros! I’m sure you already knew that tho😆 I fortunately have both as friends!
Did my Basic training there back in 76. B33
Thank you for your service🫡 what mos?

I love the fact you are sharing your Air Force experience. I ran across your channel searching the recent typhoon hitting Guam. I needed to see footage of the damage. My son is also an Airman stationed in Guam. I sent him your page. Hopefully you all can connect.
I just pcs’d out of Guam a couple months ago. This video is from February, but I still have a lot of friends and church family back there that got hit hard. It’s been tough on them for sure. I’ll be praying for them and your son🙏🏿
Yo are you still in Guam? I just pcs’d here and survived the storm.
Wassup Man. I hope you’re doing well and recovering from the storm🙏🏿 I’m no longer in Guam unfortunately. I actually pcs’d in march here to yokota, Japan. Loving it so far!
