Can you cook a GOOD burger on a pellet grill?
Welcome to the Mothership! Today we are exploring whether or not you can replace your traditional charcoal or gas grill with a pellet grill. Specifically, we are going to test if I can make not just a burger, but a GOOD burger on my pellet grill. If you are on the fence about getting one of these machines, and are concerned if you can actually sear a burger like they say you can, well I'm going to test that here. Sound good? Lets get started...

    If I’m grilling wings on my Weber I’m definitely using the Vortex. Word of caution, though. Over time the intense heat over the center grate can burn the coating off. So I’d either invest in a stainless grate or limit the amount of charcoal. In any case a full grate definitely lets you cook more wings around it than a Weber with the center pulled out.

    • @UFOBBQ
      @UFOBBQ 8 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Definitely agree. I’ve started to burn out the center grill insert already. It’s best to take it out when using the vortex

THEN put a stick of butter in a pan along with a cup of Frank's Red Hot Cayenne Pepper Sauce and let the butter and Red Hot melt together. Put the wings in a mixing bowl and add the melted butter and Frank's Red Hot sauce the bowl with the wings. Shake the bowl until Wings are covered in sauce. Grab a beer and start eating.

It is operating around 240 degrees, so therefore my Steelhead shall be completely cooked prior to ever getting much smoke flavor AT ALL. I shall be contacting PITBOSS about getting a refund and if they wish to pay me...I shall ship back to them. If I had just wanted a griller, I could have chosen one, vice a pellet smoker.

    Your timing is impeccable. I did a brined brisket flat last year, a gift from my wife. lol This year, she gifts me with a regular "brisket flat." I think she is telling me she wants me to practice on smaller briskets and then go for it. I couldn't even find out how much it weight(not on sticker), so I weighed it on the scales frozen and it was between 3.8 to 4lbs. I'll go by your recipe and graduate to larger scale briskets next year. lol

    So much easier than using the pellet grill or the dehydrate setting in the air frier. And beats the socks off of that ronco junk. Great video

      Agreed! Lack of smoke is definitely something, but the consistent easy use makes it definitely a worthwhile investment
