Thanks for sharing this. This brings back so many memories. My parents were high rollers so I grew up at Tropicana/TropWorld/Tropicana. We used to stay in the Dynasty Penthouse on the 19th floor before the West Tower was built. Then once it was finished we stayed on 50. We stayed in all six. My favorites though were the Park Avenue, Marrakech, and Versailles. One of my favorite treats on 50 was the toiletries. I am curious if they still do what they used to do. While regular rooms get the basic soaps and shampoo as the ratings go up so do the perks. On 50 in each bathroom was a robin’s egg blue Tiffany bad filled with shampoo, conditioner, body wash, soap, lotion, perfume and cologne all made by Tiffany. It smelled divine. Anyway thanks for sharing.

I also remember the original Sears in Abington what is now Target & TJmax and when all the tools were still made in USA

I just called the Tropicana, reservations told me that this suite does not exist in AC. 🙃

Oh my gosh my daughter i Qatar where she's working as nurse (NICU) received message for interview and her assignment in Chambersburg PA.but when she check the mall is empty, she's not interested anymore. I told her it might be a town or small city only. She's grown up and we live in one cities of Metro Manila, Philippines where you can find a lots of huge malls So she's right.

We moved to this area in 2003, and the mall was still very decently full. We used to shop there regularly. I was there last in June of 2023 in Black Rose Antiques. They closed weeks later. Sad to see this place so empty.

Mmmm I see in south africa that shops shelves look somewhat "emptier" each month with less variety. We will see what happens.

If they ever go out of business, wait until the pallet liquidation where they sell steel racks, display tables, and other store furniture. The racks are some of the best made in the world (welded steel or iron) and can be as cheap as $25.

Fast Eddie wanted Sears & Kmart for real estate. Forbes said Kmart had better chance at a turn around after reorganization but Kmarts seemed to be the first to go as it was Sears firewood but hey 2 Sears were re-opened in one in CA and another in WA. Maybe he will have to reopen more stores as no one wants to lease or buy them.

Wow yours looks packed compared to the one by me in Whitter CA, I went the other day and it was sad to see how empty it was.

I went to toys r us back in 2013 when i was kid and i still miss it so much it was a giant toy store in Tennessee.

As of a month or two ago, the New Jersey location closed, leaving only two K-Marts left in the US

Thanks for sharing . I go to Caesars Windsor about every 3rd weekend . In my opinion it's the closest thing I've seen in Canada that compares to a Las Vegas hotel/casino!

I live in Ohio and debated on going to visit this. From this video, it just looks like FYE with a SamGoody logo. There’s no real difference between the two.

Its seems pretty clean but they definitely don't seem to have as much merchandise as they used to...so they've downsized even with the stores that are open. Very sad

Mall is now closed so you got in just in time. I grew up in Hagerstown and there is a much more successful mall there. I was 16 when i found out there even WAS a mall there and by that time i was living 20 minutes or less from it for a few years. Crazy that the Valley Mall in Hagerstown is only 30 minutes away from here and is still thriving. Looks like it could be there another 25 years easy although it could use a facelift inside

It’s wild seeing one of the local malls on here that I used to go to as a kid. I grew up with the mall and as I got older, more and more tenants left. It got more run down. It was a sad sight to see. It’s also crazy to me how this one failed so quick, yet the one in Hagerstown is still absolutely bustling with life and successful.

I wonder where the leftover merchandise is being transferred to. I used to love their brand of summer sandals, and female tank tops… rarely see any of them for sale on online sites either, sadly…

What will it take to restore this mall to boom again?

Anyone watching these videos get a strange sense of sadness over what used to be, a time that we all know probably never truly existed, yet somehow seems real to us? A simpler, calmer, more gentle time when places like this gave pleasure to our souls?

So sad that Sears is gone...my entire childhood was Sears for back-to-school clothes. It was always so exciting to get that big Sears catalog (along with Montgomery Wards...also gone), and the "wish book" that was the Sears Christmas catalog.
