I completely agree with Dr, Lee. If only Merrick Garland had understood this and acted to prosecute Trump and his conspirators much sooner than he did, and more thoroughly than he has done, we would be so much better off today in 2024.

My disillusionment with the ‘green agenda’ / ‘environmentalism’ began with ‘peak oil’. In the late 90s & 00s peak oil was a big concern to environmentalists. It was imminently predicted by supposed ‘experts’ that oil production would peak around 2010. By now we would be riding round on bikes with no oil to do anything with - a postcarbon society. Then around 2012 all discussion of peak oil was stopped practically overnight. All the ‘experts’ disappeared. The go to peak oil web sites talked about anything but not peak oil. Peak oil had obviously been a scam. So what else in the green agenda was a scam, I wondered. With a little research the answer was carbon causing a rise in atmospheric temperature - climate change. 😅

On a different note: The courts will find Trump Guilty of Insurrection and not suitable for public office, which is what Bandy recommends; removing the illness agent. I differ on the projection of covid advancing exponentially, as we have seen it leveled out and is becoming endemic and milder. The same way, Trumpism is cathartic benefit four the USA. We will get better and will be more open to constructive actions from 2025 foreward, thanks to the perfect fit of Biden as the balm to sooth us through the illness.

Bandy's smile is as pretty as her mind is beauritful. It is refreshing to have such a clear view of our national Menatal Health issues; it explains what seems unfathemable in my friends and neighbors. Seen as illness it explains a lot. It also explains Trump's logic and presentation; it is a conning of the cos-pshychosis public. I'm working on truth-augmentation systems and will definetly include her work. I just found her books on Amazon as I was listening to this great program. BTW, I love the hair and how it lets the smile and incredible eyes shine through, but I like the long hair better.

The hilarious part being that all of this has transpired because the people themselves did not keep their governments in check and allowed them to run amok, destroying the monetary system, destroying cultural norms, allowing rampant abuse of the environment through pay to play legislation.... In the United States at least the founding fathers forewarned us about this, about becoming inattentive and letting the government run amok. A republic, if you can keep it...

funny that Jim Rogers just told the interviewer that America has made a lot of lies about countries they don't like, like WMD, but he insisted reciting American anti-China propaganda. it seems that he has no idea that one should check the fact what is real happening on the ground before moving up and down two lips for nonsense. Xinjiang "genocide" , simply WMD and Nayira Testmony 2.0, is not only one of the most evil lies Western media or CIA made up, but also most logical retarded lies, but people in west buy into it, totally forget they have been fooled by countless lies manufactured by US, stupidity learn nothing, sad!

I saw a study a few years ago which listed the 100 biggest economies in the world. 64% of them were Corporations. It is likely even larger now. Corporations enormously influence how we should think and what we should buy. We should all be a bit more like Kingsnorth, reflect on this and “change ourselves”.

I agree with a lot of what you’re discussing but I think you have forgotten the idealism required to think society can live without the machine, it can’t, we can’t go back to the dark ages and wait 2 million years for the waste to be suitably degraded enough to continue with the prosperity project.

  • @stevecampkin8613

Paul Kingsnorth is right that the green movement has been co-opted by technocratic capitalists, but the answer is not to walk away from it. There are certainly a lot of good people in the environmental movement but if the good people walk away as governments, corporations and society in general moves towards environmentalism they are leaving the bad people in charge. All that is needed for evil to triumph is for good people to do nothing. I am a Green Party councillor in my home town, and deputy leader of the council and portfolio holder for Climate Change, Environment and Transport, and, yes, I’m pushing for solar panels and wind turbines, solar farms over car parks feeding into EV chargers, electrifying the landscaping team, but also for plant based food at council events, designating large areas of council land as Community Food Forests, pushing for permaculture and even a #SolarPunk festival next year to teach about reducing our consumption, making and mending our own clothes, rain water harvesting, tool libraries, growing food in our own gardens or joining community gardens, establishing third places that are not focused on charging money or selling alcohol. Opting out is not “Raging against the Machine”, it’s letting the machine trundle on unopposed!

As for China's rise, the CCP has done NOTHING except keeping out of the way of the hardworking Chinese people and let foreign investors do their thing (admittingly it was excellent business for both those foreign investors and the CCP cadres) under the pragmatic leaderships of Deng Xiaoping, Jiang Zeming, and Hu Jintao. Unfortunately, those times of pragmatism have been replaced by utter idiological fanatisism, mostly instigated by that crackhead from Fudan University, Wang Huning, the chief idiologist and hardcore Marxist-Leninist. As for Xi, although powerful, is merely a figurehead probably utterly devoid of independent or creative thinking.

The rigidity with which extremes on both the Left and Right now argue their points, has created a pathological stasis. This is dangerous because the unavoidable end-game of this approach is first verbal then later, physical violence.
