      I'm not following what you're saying. If it leaks on the suction side, you probably need to disconnect it and rewrap the the threads with fresh thread tape (5-6 wraps). If you're using stainless steel fittings, you need to use tape made for stainless steel threads, or they will leak. Again, wrap SS thread tape 5-6 times.

    Thank you for all of your videos, they are very informative. I just installed a 30k pioneer tank and am research what pump I want to use and what Filtration system I will use. I currently have a well with a nice grundfos pump. I was going to move the grundsfo cmb 5-62 to my rainwater tank but see where quite a few folks use the internal pumps. I have a concern for freeze protection/insulation. I live in Texas but lately we get about a week of freezing weather. I currently have my existing pump in a heated well house. I provide a similar include when moving. The tank is a bit away from my house, I would estimate about 100ft of water line from the tank to the house. Wanted to see what your thoughts were about moving my existing pump or using an I eternal pump. 4 bedroom/3 bath house with 4 people. I have a separate tank and pump for irrigation via my well now.

    What’s your experience using this pump on a shallow well? The manual sais it can pull water from 26’ deep.. I’m my situation I’d be about 20’ deep from pump to water surface..

    • @rainwaterequipmentllc7835
      @rainwaterequipmentllc7835 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I don’t know of any of our clients who have done that with this pump, but they have used smaller versions of the ESYLINE pumps to lift water. While it does have the ability to lift a maximum of 26 feet, I don’t ever like to test the limits of a pump’s lifting capability. It’s my understanding that it will significantly reduce the flow rate if it must lift the water before pushing it.

      Depending on what part of the country the tank is in, there may only be a few inches of ice that forms in the top of the tank during sub freezing temperatures over several days. It typically would require temperatures to be in the 20s for many days before ice would begin to form on a tank of this size. Then, of course, as temperatures increase, the ice will melt leaving the tank without damage. Tanks in colder climates may be equipped with insulated board between the liner and the steel walls to mitigate freezing.

    Are these constant pressure pumps recommended for homes that use evaporative coolers?

    • @rainwaterequipmentllc7835
      @rainwaterequipmentllc7835 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The DTRON 2 and 3 are not "constant pressure" pumps. But they are "on demand" pumps. If you need a submersible pump that is also "constant pressure", I suppose you could use the DAB ESYBOX Diver, but for an evaporative cooler, you should probably use an expansion tank between the pump and the cooler to act as a buffer. 1st time we have ever been asked this question.

    In a situation where the water has a lot of iron, does the pump suck up the iron when it’s oxidized or does the iron “stick” to the bottom of the cistern?

    • @rainwaterequipmentllc7835
      @rainwaterequipmentllc7835 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      We are not well water experts when it comes to iron in the water, but we can say with some amount of confidence that the iron will make its way into the pump and may shorten the life of any pump over time by weakening the seals and potentially causing the pump to leak at some point. Depending on the level of the iron in the water, it may have an impact on the performance of the pump, but whether this occurs in 6 months, 10 years, or longer is difficult for to say. That being said, people use these pumps in well water applications all the time with success, but we couldn't say with any amount of certainly what the level of iron content is in these users' well water applications. Sorry we couldn't be of any real help in this area. Try searching online for competent sources on this specific topic. You're sure to find some relevant and helpful content. Good luck!

    • @rainwaterequipmentllc7835
      @rainwaterequipmentllc7835 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The only way to alter the flow rate is to partially close a shut-off valve on the discharge/outlet of the pump to restrict the flow. And you can set the pressure on the pump pretty much anywhere you like. Just select a PSI between 15-30, and set. Hold down the Mode and Set buttons simultaneously for about 3 secondsn until the PSI level begins to flash, and use the up/down arrows to increase/decrease the PSI. Then press the Set button.

    How long does it take to fill a 30k tank system with rain and snowmelt from a building that size?

    • @rainwaterequipmentllc7835
      @rainwaterequipmentllc7835 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      We almost never get snow in Texas. But the heavy rain events will fill it surprisingly quickly when collecting from a roof of substantial size. The multiplier is .62 for every square foot of roof space. For example, 1,000 sqft will yield approx. 620 gallons of water in a 1" rain event. This building is 9,000 sqft. So a 1" rain will produce approx. 5,580 gallons of collection.

    • @rainwaterequipmentllc7835
      @rainwaterequipmentllc7835 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It depends on the amount of roof space from which you are collecting. The multiplier is .62 . You multiply .62 x # of square feet being collected. For example, in a 1" rain event, you can collect 620 gallons of water from 1000 sqft of roof. 1000 x .62 = 620. This 500 gallon tank frequently overflows when it rains.

      Do you have a shut off valve installed right after the pump? If not, you should. If so, close the valve, and allow the pump to deadhead the water against a closed valve. If the pump shuts off, there's nothing wrong wit the pump. And you either have a leak downstream in your pipe somewhere, or a leaking or running toilet, etc. If not, then yes, try inspecting the check valve (like in the video) for debris.

    • @rainwaterequipmentllc7835
      @rainwaterequipmentllc7835 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If you are lifting water from below the pump, you will likely need to install a foot valve on the bottom of the suction pipe down in the "water hole" to prevent the water from going back the opposite direction. Once you have it installed, start filling the pump with water, which will also fill the suction piping that goes down to the foot valve where it will stop. Once the pipe and pump are full of water, the pump should be able to prime.

    • @TobiasGosselin-nn7bx

       the thing is there is already a foot valve in the waterhole on the suction line. Doesn't the pump have an integrated foot valve ? So if I fill the pump, it will just fill the internal reservoir and not go into the line up to the water hole?

    great vid, what are your thoughts,... here is my setup.... i have a 180ft well, the well only produces 0.9GPM, i also have a 1500 gallon tank (Cistern that i fill by hauling water as i don't have my well set up). i don't currently use my well because i don't know how to set up my system. i also have a 5gpm well pump installed.

      Yes, you can use an ESYBOX Mini 3 as the pump to pressurize the water in your 1500 gallon tank to send to the point of use. We recommend installing the pump close to the outlet of the water tank.

      Hold down the “mode” and “set” buttons simultaneously for about 3 seconds. When PSI begins to flash, use the up or down arrows to select the desired pressure, and press “set” button. That’s it.

    What about when the demand for water happens and pump isn’t kicking on right away can take hours or minutes to notice draw and kick on and is lack of water pressure yet pump reading proper pressure on screen no trouble codes, need help 🙏🏻

      At first pass, I'd guess you had something obstructing the suction to the pump. And you might check to make sure there's nothing stuck in either the suction side check valve or the discharge check valve (aka, non-return or shutter valve) of the pump. We always recommend a pre-filter to prevent debris from entering the pump.

      @@rainwaterequipmentllc7835 it is a holding tank with filtered water, so on the discharge end there is a valve? Is that inside unit?

    • @rainwaterequipmentllc7835
      @rainwaterequipmentllc7835 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@daltonsalaskanadventures7673 Yes. It's inside the front cover to the left of the digital screen. Kill the power to the pump, and close the ball valve on the water tank that feeds the pump. Open a valve on the discharge side of the pump to alleviate the pressure. Use the small Allen wrench found inside the lid on top to open the green cover on the front of the pump. Then use a set of needle-nose pliers to grab the check valve, and turn it counter-clockwise while pulling toward you. It should come out so you can see if there's anything obstructing it. Don't mess with the rubber cap inside the cover. It's the valve stem cover for the internal pressure tank.

    Hi. Is it possible to have both city/mains water as well as rainwater tank connected to the same DAB E.SYBOX pump? I ask this so incase city/mains water is not available lets due to civil emergency then we have rainwater tank as backup to fall on?

    • @rainwaterequipmentllc7835
      @rainwaterequipmentllc7835 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes. You would simply need a T or Y in the suction pipe that feeds the pump with an isolation shut-off valve on each supply, so you can manually open/close one at a time as needed. Be sure to use a pre-pump filter between the rainwater tank and the pump to prevent debris from entering the pump. City code may require a back flow prevention device (like an RPZ) to be installed in order to prevent the rainwater from commingling with the city water.

      Yes, the pump can be set at 75 PSI, but it can only produce that much constant pressure up to 6 GPM according to the performance curve shown on the product page. rainwaterequipment.com/esybox-mini-3-on-demand-constant-pressure-pump/

    Good explanation on this valve set up. As we see more and more Rainwater Harvesting Systems changing to a potable system this will be a game changer. Nobody seems to want to go out and change the valves, everything automated. Heck I cant even get our customers to clean the pre-filtration on a regular basis. I think I will send this video to our water district and see if they will approve it for use in this area. If that is ok with you. We will talk sone, Thanks Rainwater Ranch

    How much electricity will the 110 volt dab unit use. Client claims herr electric bill went up several hundred dollars. She lives alone so I don't feel it is the pump.

      @rainwaterequipmentllc7835 ปีที่แล้ว

      Since this pump is dual voltage 115/230V... 9.6 Amps at 115V 4.8 Amps at 220V They are very energy efficient due to the soft start feature and the fact that the motor speeds up/down based on use.

    Great video! What I don't understand is what to do in a situation where both occur. For example, I'm going to have a 10' tall 5000 gallon water storage tank and would love to install this pump on the wall next to it, say 4' from the ground where that tank is sitting. Problem is, this means I'd have flooded suction if the tank was more than about 40% full, but the pump would need to be pulling up if the tank was less than about 40% full. Can the pump not work in that scenario? Obviously I could just put the pump on the ground and configure it for flooded, but a wall install seems cleaner and saves floor space for other things. Thanks if you have an answer to that!

    • @rainwaterequipmentllc7835
      @rainwaterequipmentllc7835 ปีที่แล้ว

      In this situation (if you want to wall mount it), don't change the position of the shutter valve. It really only needs to be changed if your inbound flooded pressure is around 35 PSI or higher (I found this out after posting the video), but it won't hurt the pump if you do change it in low pressure, flooded suction scenarios. Be sure to install a check valve at the ball valve of the water tank to keep the pump primed and water from going the other direction, especially if you mount the pump on the wall.
