To be a good chaplain: avoid sin by worshiping the Lord daily.
Larry -- thank you for sharing your experiences so others can learn! So many gems in this series.
Great presentation, but the content on the screen is unclear.
I like that he uses the term "bloopers" because it denotes being able to laugh at oneself
Great vids IAM learning a lot
Good video/conversation. However, I'd like to know where in the Second Vatican Council documents you got the idea of 'any person can hear confession but not absolve.' I am a Catholic myself, and I'd like to let you know, that the sacrament of the sick can only be administered by a validly ordained priest.
This sounds like such a rewarding career. Thank you for sharing.
Hello Larry, I recently join my local hospital as volunteer Chaplain, and I've come across this wonderful and helpful tool (video) on Chaplains Essentials which has lots of great info, by the way God bless your ministry and great work you're doing for our Lord & Savior Jesus Christ. My question, well I have lots of them, but how can I get access to the other parts of this topic? I seen parts 1&2 of 10, how can I see parts 3-10?
For anyone that is asking the same question, I clicked on Larry's name which took me to his page. If you click on "Videos" you will see all of Larry's videos. These are at the bottom. Once you find the ones you want, you can click on the three dots next to each video and put them in a queue. It will then play them automatically one after the other.
Hi Larry, I really enjoy and appreciate your instructional videos...in this one you mention local ministers being allowed by HIPAA rules to see a denominational hospital census list. Where might that regulation be found? Thank you.
Good vid
I have a telephone job interview coming up for patient service representative this Monday, and as I watch this video I am reminded of a possible interview question that may arise: "Tell me something about yourself?" My first thought is to highlight the things that I am not such as being a WORLD RENOWN PIANIST or TALENTED ARTIST, but, what I am is a person who can identify with people who want to be valued on any level. For example: I may not know what it's like to be a woman, but I do know what it's like to have a mother. I am not left handed, but, I rather have use of both my hands than just one. I don't stand 5' 5", but I do know what it's like to talk to someone whose taller than me.
UrbanSipfly did you get the job? my interview is tomorrow :$
No, I did not get the job (sad face) but I have developed a more solid answer to deliver to the interviewer pertaining to the question? Tell me something about yourself? What I desire to do for patients in both long term and short. Get patients into the system as quickly and accurately as possible. Ask relevant questions, all the while exhibiting a caring spirit with a smile. Thanks for asking Aya.
This is like the 8th time I've applied I finally got an interview. I'm sooo nervous but I wont hold my breath lol blech
Whatever you say remember this point as much as possible: KEEP IT POSITIVE. I believe that you'll do just fine! Much success to you!
Thank you ! :)
A very wonderful, very informative video.......thanks for sharing with us. Chaplain Linda Bowman
I saw a position for a patient rep needed at the hospital and wanted to see what it would be like. And so far I think it would be the perfect job for me, just what I assumed. Thanks for the video..
Patient registration cleck
I did not get to watch the videos on Chaplaincy but just sampling these look excellent. I have served in adult ministry, teaching and visitation. Is there a certification from some training organization or from your work in training that one can obtain? Thank you
These videos that you have been uploading lately ARE ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. Its always hard to discuss removing life support. I gotta tell you. I Certainly don't work in a hospital at this time, but I often think of how hard it just is with the fact o facing a family telling them that their loved one is brain dead. even worse explaining to them that even though the heart is still beating, the chest still rises and falls, The patient is dead! Some people don't understand brain death well.
Oh Thank you for this video! It's so amazing, I'm also a Patient Advocate, it sounds like a day in the life of me. I love my job, it's very rewarding.
The video repeats near the middle. I wanted to hear more about the physician specialties and hospital departments... :-(
something that I really needed to hear now..thanks Pastor
This video is just undescribably useful. I mean, This video is purely detailed, and I gota tell you. It has really helped.
I am a college sophomore trying to figure out what I should do with my life. Do you think hospital chaplaincy is something I should pursue? I feel somewhat led towards it, but I'm afraid I might be jumping the gun on that.
Just a suggestion: have you ever thought about adding background music to your videos? I ask simply because I started listening to Pink Floyd while watching this and it became that much more interesting.
