    What you can do about empty drawers is for example put a red sticker on the back and then put the drawer back upside down (so then the front is at the back). Then you can see at a glance which drawers are empty and you have also solved the dust problem ;-).

    I sort by colour. It has pros and cons. But I've always done it that way and it would take forever to change now as I have over half a million parts ㄟ( ▔, ▔ )ㄏ

    • @kiwibrickexchange
      @kiwibrickexchange 6 วันที่ผ่านมา

      How do you find it when you are uploading then? What sort of process do you use - maybe I’m just being picky!

    • @Guy.Fleegman
      @Guy.Fleegman 6 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@kiwibrickexchange It's complicated:) But I've made up a ruff system in my mind. I have similar draws to the ones in your mates store. And I organize by size small to large left to right in one of those 7 draws units. And do tiles then curved slopes then plates then its becomes random because every colour is all over the place from there generally. To save space lately I have also started using big bins for all my 2x and up wide plates and bricks. It freed up a lot of draws. So most of the time picking, I don't even look at the draw number, I can find the part by memory within 1 to 4 draw usually.

    • @kiwibrickexchange
      @kiwibrickexchange 6 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Yeah and that's the thing - if it is setup for you and you know the way it works, thats an efficient way of doing things. What do you use for remarks when you get an order? Brickstore? or just from Bricklink?

    • @Guy.Fleegman
      @Guy.Fleegman 6 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@kiwibrickexchange I still have the draw number in the remarks. Although I don't have time to check it every time I upload. I run this store by my self and already have to do 12 hours a day 7 days to make sure I ship same day every day. I add the draw number when I'm picking if I notice it's a new lot and haven't added the draw yet. Also, I've never even heard of Brickstore:) I'm not an expert because I have a big store, I'm just making it up as I go ㄟ( ▔, ▔ )ㄏ

    • @kiwibrickexchange
      @kiwibrickexchange 6 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Do what works though right! I find Brickstore really useful for uploading and making sure my store is right when adding parts - I find I rarely have issues with things not in drawers so orders go smoothly.

    Just a quick question. When someone buys a set. Do you take it apart and ship the piecies, ship the set as a whole or take the set apart in big sections. (For example in modular buildings separate the floors. I am starting a store and I am planning on selling the Ninjago city docks which is a pretty big set.

    • @kiwibrickexchange
      @kiwibrickexchange 26 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I don’t normally sell sets, but if it was used I would definitely send as pieces - you would need to check everything was there anyway. From a customers perspective they are wanting the set to build so would be a bit strange if it turned up already built.

    I will say, the drawrs you have are not making the most of the space you have, I use some craftsman drawers from amazon and they work fantastic because they lock into themselves and have very little wasted space. Also, when you get reject minifigure torsos, you should be pulling any good condition hands or arms, they sell for a decent ammount. They can take a while to sell, but it's worth it when they do! Another thing to thin about is that you don't need stuff to sell right away, It's good to have a large catalog of thing for buyers because then you will show up on their wanted lists.

      Yes this is a very temporary measure - another job on the to do list! Do you have a link to the craftsman drawers?

      Yes definitely one option - I prefer to always be open for customers as you never know who is looking :D

      @@kiwibrickexchangeI agree but the backlog has overflowed the store space after I bought a store that was closing and the integration is a bit difficult with the current systems we have in place

      That would be an easier way if you are trying to integrate a second store. Exciting stuff!
