Hi, I'm Ciara and I'm a yoga teacher from Co. Wicklow in Ireland.
My daily self-care yoga practice has transformed my life and I aim to help others to commit to a daily yoga practice. Yoga as a self-care tool doesn't have to be full of handstands and wheels. Slow mindful yoga offers all the benefits of yoga. In my videos I put a lot of focus on deep abdominal breathing in order to activate our parasympathetic nervous system. I am passionate about sharing the benefits of developing a relationship with our own unique nervous systems for healthy living. And to encouraging others to do 'what is right for you', on your yoga mat and in life.
Having being diagnosed with Functional Neurological Disorder a number of years ago, I now have developed a strong relationship with my own nervous system. I remain mainly symptom free through my daily yoga practice. I'd love to share my yoga with others suffering with FND, anxiety or people simply wanting to feel more balanced and ease.

I hear a woman describing her anxiety state so why does she keep speak of fnd recovery? Well done you taught yourself how to relax and your anxiety decreased. Whoever came up with fnd as a name did many a disservice.

Thank you - I was told I had long covid but recently my GP thinks it may be FND so your story has been a god send and I’m going to try your yoga. I keep trying body weight exercises but my body doesn’t like and I get neck shoulder pain trigger points. My symptoms are word stuttering, I misspeak a lot, I have tingling , numbness , heavy feeling over all randomly, crazy anxiety, numbness in my head, brain fog, panic attacks, icy feeling in my throat to my stomach , blurred vision, heavy foot feeling, trip up at times. Throat extreme tightness, swallowing issues. Numb tight fingers toes. I am desperate to get back lifting weights and exercising but at the moment can only managed around two 10min walks but get around 5000 steps on a good day. Stress turns my body rigid and gives me pain and really tight muscles especially down my left side but all over too. My neck is the worse at my trap, base of skull and sternocleidomastoid. If I do a lot more my body gets really itchy and have weird and wonderful sensations , pins and needles and other sensations.

No, I stepped back from full time Structural Engineering when I had my kids. I’ve done some part-time work in engineering over the years since then. Wishing your daughter every success in living with FND. I hope she’s doing ok. She’s lucky to have your support.
Hi thanks for sharing I've been diagnosed with fnd but I'm not sure it's right my symptoms are fatigue pain weight loss diarea anx imsomia. All my symptoms started in 2021 no other dr can find what's going on .Xo my symptoms sound like they could be FND
Hi James, I get you. I was told when I was diagnosed that a lot of people struggle with the diagnosis. My diagnosis made sense to me because I was over 10 years with symptoms and no real diagnosis or medications that worked in that long decade. Thank you so much for this video! I've been searching for FND recovery storeies and haven't had much luck finding them. This video gave me so much hope! I'm on day 3 of doing yoga for my FND and it makes me feel so good when I do it. I'm keeping this video as a reminder that recovery is possible! I would just recommend prioritising rest & relaxation, whatever that means to you. It’s hard to do but it is possible. Even 10 minutes of breathwork every day can be balancing. For me I lowered my standards from perfect to ‘good enough’ to make time for myself. Winnicotts ‘good enough’ parenting was refreshing to learn and helped me a lot. Hope that helps. All of your videos are interrupted in the middle by ads that don't stop unless I get up and click "skip ads," so even though I think your practices are very, very helpful, I can't do them anymore.

I have to say, this session was disappointing to say the least. There were four loud ad interruptions about debt solutions in a 12 minute clip. I've never encountered ads during a session on any other yoga youtube channel. It's not conducive to a good practice and breaks the flow of the video.
Sorry you had to deal with ads. I am not monitised (I dont have the required watch hours or subscribers) so it's upsetting to hear that TH-cam placed ads in this video. 🥴

Yo clearly never had fatigue to think someone suffering bad fatigue can do this lol
This video is more suited to the fatigue that comes from extreme tiredness. I have received a lot of feedback to say that this practices helped with tiredness. I'm sorry it doesnt suit bad fatigue....a breathwork practice (without the movement) might be a nice place to start. C
