Sanremo YOU Espresso Machine Overview
The Sanremo YOU has been out since 2021, but with early models, the firmware had issues, the supply was quite low in the USA, so not many were seen out in the wild. At the 2024 SCA event in Chicago, they had many demo models as they have many many improvements since its launch.
Here is my overview of the machine, I know it does not cover everything.
Special thanks to Espresso Source for allowing me to borrow this machine for about a month.

Which Turin Grinder Should I Get - a comparison of the DF64V, the DF64 Gen 2, and the DF83
มุมมอง 6Kปีที่แล้ว
Three of my go-to coffee grinders. I use them for Espresso, V60, cold brew, etc. But always get asked "should I get this one or that one?". I cant make that decision for you, but I hope this video shows you the basics of each grinder, a size comparison, and towards the end I ask a few questions that I hope helps you decide which suits your lifestyle! #df64 #espressobar #coffeebar www.espressoou...

มุมมอง 3.7Kปีที่แล้ว
I felt the V60 to be the most universally translated pour over for many. If you would like to see something else, I can attempt if I have it. The DF64 Gen 2 is a multi purpose grinder, so I always like to try Espresso and drip. Not easy to find something that can do both well. #DF64 #v60coffee #v60 www.espressooutlet.net/copy-of-turin-df64-v5-single-dose-coffee-grinder/

Turin DF83 with Plasma Generator and Metal Declumper
Just came to this video and it was a great reassurance. Thank you :)
New M6 owner, here. No roasts yet. I've seen some reddits saying that I should be throwing away the first 5-10 batches because of internal lubricants and other shipping materials to burn them out. And also to season the drum with the oils from the beans. Any insight that you have would be great. 5-10 batches is such a huge waste!
5-10 is excessive. I usually do two batches with higher drop temps into second crack. Should be good to go. Can do a third if you feel more comfortable. Even that is probably a bit excessive. Can find some good seasoning beans online for pretty cheap.
@@portakeeper I ran 4 seasoning roasts. A local roaster gave me a bunch of his left over green beans, so it cost me nothing! Super nice guy! This thing is incredible. I love how my house smells after I roast a batch or two of beans
In industrial applications, 4-20mA signal is used to save cost as TC extension wire can be expensive over long runs. Not sure why it's uses in this application, especially if they're used RTD's?
Will you ever carry or review the sanremo cube?
@@tt11qj I don’t carry Sanremo so I kind of doubt it. If I get my hands on one I’d love to
I have the bambino plus (purchased 6 months from amazon) with a Baratza Encore Grinder, scale and all the bells and whistles, equipment. I also have a crema 54 mm bottomless porta filter/basket. My issue is I keep getting coffee spitting out of the bottom of porta filter all over the back of the machine and countertop when brewing single and/or double shot expresso. I tried the original porta filter that came with the machine as well, different grind size, same results. Any recommendations?
😂😂😂😂 so good
?
Small question about the DF64V. I have had mine for about a month now and never noticed this before, but is it normal to hear the motor sound quieter in the beginning then rev up to the select RPM? I figured it is normal but I have not noticed it before when turning my unit on and off? Wondering if I need to clean the burrs or something
@@Lungfishted it somewhat auto adjusts and is normal.
I have the same DF64V with SSP burr, can you please share the grind settings based on coffee..(espresso, Moka, filter, aeropress, frenchpress)
Hey, quick question what day is better? Atom 75 or mahlkonig k30? And which has more naughty flavor.
Thanks for that comparison and up-close look. Needed it.
Seriously, you can't even tamp your own coffee.
Waste of time.
Is the df64v a great choice for both espresso and pour over? I wanna get a grinder for both my V60 and brevile barista pro
I'm sure it's a great grinder, but this video is useless.
Might be an idea to plan and prepare your materials BEFORE you start filming….
How is the heat on the grinder? Have you done multiple back to back shots? And what’s the consistency?
Great video !!!
Wouldn't the taste be drastically different because of your grind size difference rather than conical vs flat, I'm assuming this based on how your pour times were different using the same espresso machine? Actual question, I'm just learning. Thx
you didn’t give it a chance, just wanted to dislike it from the off 😂
Got one of these : mine has had issues with anti vac valve and element failures at 24mths old. Good machine results wise though.
I have a €300 Bosetamper paperweight, I've had it for barely a year and I've made 400 coffees... well, it's already broken. I don't recommend anyone buy one unless they want to have a €300 paperweight a year like me. What bothers me most is that its creator knows about this defect but ignores it.
I have the new version, with the plasma generator and it's really is top notch. (I had the DF83 and failed to get a consistent shot)
Have you had the issue with the plasma generator running all the time unless you unplug and giving off a low hum? I heard the RPM LCD and plasma generator never turn off when the machine is plugged in, which seems like bad design.
@@GraysonCarr The RPM is constant, yes. I think they may have reduced the light of the LEDs, slightly. I don't hear anything, so maybe the plasma generator isn't on. Can't say for sure.
Not sure I ken the thinking in putting a multi purpose burr in a espresso focus grinder?
a nice addition to my machine is the clear mini hopper from the 64P i make 6 cups a day.. the mini hopper lets me use the bellows and hold enough for a day.
Huge thanks for this video!
Hi, I was curious if you had experience with the mahlkonig x54? If so how does it compare to the atom 60? For espresso only
@@335861282 I don’t have any experience with it.
You prefer this method for v60 or Tetsu Kasuya one?
Hi Barrett great video just wanna ask what would you choose this SanRemo You or the Rocket R91?
@@Chemari hard to answer. Never owned an R91. Been around. They are nice machines. Similarly priced, Rocket is less. Wish I had a better answer. Both very nice.
I’ve use rocket R91 but only once for a moment. Both have their pros and cons. Would be a tough choice as not many cons actually. Are you wanting for home or shop
@@portakeeper after months of research I ended up getting the SR You and loving for my small home.
@@portakeeper I am trying to make the same decision. The SR You seems to be a little inconsistent in reproducing pressure profiles when tested by Lance Hedrick. But I do think the app connectivity and the ability to store multiple profiles from a manual pull are huge pros. It is also lighter and takes up less space on the counter. I just don't know if that's worth it for $5500 compared to $4350 for the Rocket. The Rocket is designed more similarly to a true commercial machine, and I think for back to back shots is less likely to fall behind. Temperature stability is surprisingly good on the SR You, and I have not seen it measured on the Rocket R91 anywhere on TH-cam. But the saturated brew group would make me think it would be similar to the GS3 in that regard.
where i can find the sk40 in europe? I live in portugal
The way you pour from the far edges to the middle makes me feel sick
then I guess don't watch lol
Leave to people to find 33 extra ways of answering questions that don't exist. Way too much unnecessary work!!! This should have been a 45 sec video really!
Best all round compact 64mm single dose unit for the price ....quiet and as powerful as you need ...and so compact for domestic use. Have had one for 12 months and it does it all. No complaints.
Does Dlc burrs grind for espresso?
Both dlc and stock espresso burrs technically the same but the dlc has a coating on them to reduce friction
This machine is very futuristic. Just bought one online, but l found it's leaking underneath on the side after I press the two-shots button. And the water reservoir leaks so fast when I take it out. Is it normal? So confused and scared when I'm using it....
Does not sound Normal at all. Possibly needs some seals repaired. Could be an opv recirc line too if it only leaks while in use
You don't think the boiler can leak at the rear left when looking at the rear of the machine and then collect onto the horizontal plate and can find away through the mesh on the on the left ? Just questioning your statement how water cannot get on the electronics ?
@@mrneilti I guess it’s always a possibility but it’s designed to drain down and the electronics are separated. I did take a good look at it. Think you could pour water on top of the machine and doubt electronics would get wet. Water tank sleeve is also double walled which is nice
Wouldn’t a 19s shot compared to 25s shot taste different anyways? Not the expert, but would’ve been more of a level field if each shot had the same pull time/weight
What would you recommend as a second grinder for single dosing between the new DF64 vs SK40? Thank you!
I cannot see for sure but you may have the tray mounted in transport mode. There are two more holes to the back of the tray holder that would allow mounting the tray about an inch forward.
Hmm I never noticed. if this is true that would make the machine more usable, but at my house with a standard countertop, the machine would probably not fit onto my counter.
it's a brew boiler not pre boiler
Pressure stats 😤
Not that bad. The pressure stat in this machine is huge.
Hi, which better DF54 or Sk40??thks
Neither are better or worse, just personal preference
How's the support for this product line??
I think it’s good but there are a few distributors that are terrible.
@@portakeeper yeah that's the vibe I'm getting. I wonder if this is overkill for my gaggia evo pro.
@@saadshakir3346 not overkill at all. You have Mii coffee. Trash support. They don’t care. Skulking a sale. This grinder similar to Superjolly. I’ve been in love
@@portakeeper I watched a video they mentioned you made put on black accents on the df64v?
Isn't it better to put the beans in when the grinder is already on
Can do either.
I just upgraded my stock DF83 burrs for the DLC espresso burrs. It's a reasonably-priced upgrade. I don't believe SSP HU burrs are worth the money.
I somewhat agree, I like the stock burrs over the HU most days.
I've just ordered the DLC 83mm espresso burrs for my DF83, to replace the stock Italmill burrs. Really looking forward to the results, thanks to your video. 👍
There’s way more 54 mm filters in homes then 58. I’d say 80% of home espresso machines in America are a breville. Most people don’t go for $1000 coffee machines. If they want to sell more they need to make one.
You are correct, many more 54mm tampers out there, but the majority of those people are not willing to invest in an auto tamper. Puq Press is about $1000, not many Breville Bambino fans are willing to buy the Turn Autotamper as the same cost as the espresso machine.
Pump plastic into your grinds
Lol how?
What is the exact depth of lelit Mara ?
do not have anymore, should be specifications on their website.
Excellent unboxing! I just got mine Difluid r1 a couple of weeks ago and I have to say it's all I wanted for my home coffee. Quick Q, what is this little white and turqoise A5 horizontal canddle chart? Thanks a lot 🙏🏼
