When Ren was a teenager he was diagnosed with psychosis. For the next ten years he had agonising pains and at one stage, put him in bed for over a year. The doctors said that the pains were all in his head due to his psychoses. He later found out that he had Lyme's disease. The man in the pigs head at the beginning of the video is a metaphor for the medical industry. Ren himself comes from Wales but lives in Brighton, England. He makes regular trips to Canada to get treatment for his autoimmunity illness caused by the Lyme's disease. A couple of years ago Ren released an album, "Sick Boi" that beat Rick Astley to the number 1 spot in the UK. Ren's music has helped a lot of people with their own phantoms, including me. I have tried to end my life twice due to being married to a narcissistic woman. Not all victims of domestic violence are female and when you are brought up to believe that you should never hit women it makes it even harder. The reason I didn't leave her years ago is that we have a daughter and I needed to protect her, not only from the "corporal punishment" but from my wife poisoning her mind. My daughter left home without notice when he was 20 years old. Had she been younger you would say that she ran away. For two months I didn't know where she was until I got a message via my employer saying she was ok so my mind was settled. The reason I am telling you all this is that it was Ren and his music that dragged me out of my way of thinking. I can't put my finger on it but something resonated with me and now I am in a much better place. Mental health is more crippling that physical health and yet people see getting help as a weakness. I wish you and your good lady wife all the best. Oh yes, I like your style so I have sub'd and thumbed up.

Ren is indeed seriously impressive. I hit "Hi Ren" last year and it pushed me to go back to some old journals to reintegrate old voices that still creep in pretty strongly from time to time, but I now know the reason they were so amplified was because my body was very out of whack (pituitary tumor probably triggered by a parasite I got in Ecuador in 2010). Choosing "Doubt" as the opposite with Ren going for "Hope" 20s later probably the best lone word any reaction have chosen so far to describe that voice/part of us.

untrust to doctors came from his personal experience. he had Lime deciese wich was diagnosed as psycotic illnes and was medicated as one. later when it was correctly diagnosed he had to much counciquences from it and metnal health issue from previuous medications

My best friend also killed himself 1 year and 6 months ago. I only had a feeling something was wrong my gut felt so heavy. I warned our other friends something was wrong, I warned his mom, I called for help to countless people, crisis hotline too. His girlfriend later told me he was worried I was the only one not believing him when he said he was going to Spain and dying from cancer. No one listened. Until one day he had a timed post on Instagram saying he was sorry to lying to all his friends about his trip, and having cancer, and to forget about having a funeral. I texted his mom immediately what I saw, and tried to keep calling him. After a few minutes I called her and all I could hear was a scream I will never forget. He shot himself on his moms porch with towels wrapped around him so his mom wouldn't have to clean up his blood. I then found out he told his mom when he went to "Spain" to make sure I was taken care of and had a good life. He was my brother for 13 years, we met when we were 14. His mom wouldn't let anyone post or tell anyone he died, she was embarrassed but also didn't tell her family. Everyone told me I was right and they should have listened.. But that doesn't matter when its already over, it doesn't help the feelings of guilt, anger, depression. Please everyone remember if someone says something is not right, someone is not okay, don't push it off. They could be wrong, but it could be a life or death situation meaning trying is better than nothing. Everyone would rather be wrong than right about there friend wanting to kill themselves

That is the step beyond hope, when your hope has been destroyed and yet, at the last second you find something inside to keep going in spite of the utter hopelessness. That is a voice I have heard more than once.

Great reaction video, I love that you take it all in and not just focusing on one aspect of the video because Ren does a lot. But I have to say that Ren is right about that there is no winners or losers but there is victims and students. Because if there is losers then they have lost at/in something, like they have failed and that is not really right but victims have been or are being negatively impacted from something. An example is if you lost a game that is because you chose to play and didn’t play as good as someone else (so a loser), but you can become a victim wherever you are like someone can break into your house or you can be hit by a car. A loser chose to be in the situation where you possibly can become a loser but a victim can just exist and something or someone else does something that makes them a victim.

Thank you so much for your reaction - it's clear how much this means to you personally as well as musically, and though I've seen quite a few reactions in my last few days of binge-reaction-watching since I came across Ren, yours does stand out as being deeply human.

The deep breath into the scream at 14:28 hit me like a freight train as well the first time I heard this song. So much emotion behind that scream, it's beautiful.
