Revealing the Tech I Regret Buying in 2023
Thanks for the great review! Do you think a lunchbox 6-7 inches in depth could fit inside the main compartment? Thanks again!
This is honestly a really cool feature. Is this a feature of Samsung phones?
It appears to fix some of the shortcomings of the G915. Kind of wish I waited for the 'X', now it's a thing. But I actually like my G915 TKL a lot. Note I'm a gamer, over productivity. Also, I like the aesthetics of the keyboard. Battery life is exceptionally good. It's apparently better on the 'X'. There is also no latency whatsoever. It's a great, true 'low profile' keyboard. Unlike most, where the main chassis/frame are still too high and kind of defeat the purpose. Hence no unsightly palm rest needed. Adding a type-c charging/connectivity port? About time, LOL. This 'X' variant, may replace it down the road. I bought the G915, as my mouse of choice is the G502, so I only need 'G-Hub' and not another bloatware software package, just to add a different keyboard. The fact you can replace the key caps, where you couldn't on the previous version, is a win. Yes hot swappable switches should be on this, at its price point. The new key caps are made of a different material, PPT double shot, over ABS shine through. Having a rough texture, over the older more smooth keycaps? They should last a lot longer. The keys would feel far less flimsy to the 915 as well with the type 2 choc switches.
3:34 is this the q0 keychron numpad?😮 It must be great for editing.
I so genuinely thought you were a youtuber with millions of subs. This video is so well put together and has so much great information about the products you review! You've earned my sub :) The only thing that I, as a viewer, would like to see would be the prices shown in the video as well. But other than that, this video was so well made and I hope you blow up even more soon
Thank you! And thanks for the feedback as well, I’ll take it into account for my last guide that hasn’t been edited yet. Appreciate the feedback!
Can i connect T5 sub with this MR4
Not directly to the speakers, they do not have a sub out on the speakers themselves.

Which version of the Mechanical is this??
This is the MX Mechanical Mini Tactile! They are also offered in a full sizes as well
AnyDesk Remote Desktop can turn your iPad into an MBA when on the go. Works great for those times when you need a bit more than iPadOS.
I will definitely look into this! Especially when I don't want to take the 16" Pro with me
Would have loved a hand sensor like the MX, even though it’s gaming rather than productivity focused. Can’t stand the software.
I’ve always liked the hand sensor for the lighting! And yeah the G Hub software could use some work, but it’s way better than it was before for customizing it how you like
Bro, could you adress why the website has such a high ammount of people saying it failed on them.
This is a known issue with this monitor with the thunderbolt port not being the best. Mine also failed at month 11, but was fixed for free by LG through a third party company. I would say that as long as the thunderbolt cable isn’t being stressed, the likely hood of failure is less, but it might still happen. Purchase at your own risk.
Don't buy this. There are much better keyboards available. I just got a keychron for about the same price as this and it is a thousand times better than my logitech.
Oh nice! Keychron is always a great choice for the customizability of it! Logitech’s spot is for those that prefer to use G Hub over VIA/GMK, but agreed that if you’re comfortable with VIA, there are other better options
How do you deal with the lack of USBs on the Mac laptops? I like propping up my PC on a stand and using a full size keyboard via Bluetooth. Is it still possible with Mac? Would I have to buy a converter to plug in the USB?
How do you deal with the lack of USBs on the Mac laptops? I like propping up my PC on a stand and using a full size keyboard via Bluetooth. Is it still possible with Mac? Would I have to buy a converter to plug in the USB?
If your keyboard is being used via Bluetooth, the Mac also has Bluetooth that you can use for the keyboard. If docking the Mac, I recommend a USB C hub that would give you more ports which is the easiest way to get more ports on the Mac for other wired accessories.
Can you. Really trust refurbished? If so, where is the best place to go?
Yes, I would trust refurbished MacBooks from Apple Certified Refurbished or BestBuy as my top 2 places
it is hot swapple switch. try it br
Stop comparing both of them to eachother, to me it seems like this video is made to shit on the 720, there is a huge price difference one is in 300 to 400 price range while other is half the price and is a budget headphone
Does the earpads wear off after a while if you sweat on them at the gym?
They still look great to me with no peeling. I have only been using them for less than a year though so only time will tell how much they can last
i might miss it from your video but i need to ask, how's the charging speed compared to the predecessor? is it the same or faster since it's now using a USB C?
It's relatively the same, I haven't noticed any significant increase in charging speeds.
Amazing But 32 inches for a desk monitor is brutal
It can definitely be too large, especially if your desktop width is only 24 inches. I still prefer a 27 inch monitor for a smaller width desk
In my humble opinion, this should've been optical. But what do I know, maybe the target people prefer the mechanical feel.
Yeah I think the mechanical keyboards are performing well right now with more and more companies releasing low profile ones so I can see how they wanted to keep the same feel on this update.
@@nerdgrafx Yup. It sucks to be in the niche of a niche sometimes.
You can use a soldering iron to swap out switches in all fairness
True, but that's way more work than what a casual consumer would be willing to put in. Even in custom keyboards, there's more and more hot swappable options for this reason
@@nerdgrafxI'm so mad this keyboard isn't hot swappable 4 the price! CUZ SOLDERING is fun but i think 2 much work too
I don't think that's a gaming keyboard 😅
No one said it is
its is a gaming keyboard bitch
I don't get to why Samsung included Tizen TV software OS? and even included an ethernet port, but not included USB-C PD and an audio jack?! I mean if we wanted their Tizen TV software we buy a smart TV? and not an OLED gaming monitor?! That audio jack is a deal breaker for me. If they can put an ethernet port, the can absolutely put in an audio jack and USB-C PD for that price of $1300.
Yeah I think they were going mainly for the desktop PC market without the USB C, but the headphone jack is a must, especially for a monitor >$1000. If you have a laptop, the MSI one is the other one I am considering that also has USB C
@@nerdgrafx I don't think I'd wanna spend $1000 on a monitor. I just went with the LG 27GS95QE and honestly it's great and I love it. Been playing Dota 2 and PS5 Games on it and the quality is so crips even if the settings are all low on my PC.
Buying the skull!!! Because of the feedback my friends have told me!! Thanks ❤
Great! Enjoy them, they're definitely great headphones!
fonts will wear off quite quickly. :/ I was extra dissapointed with my g915 never buying logitech again.
probably not. They fked up keycaps on original G915, but on G915X they made them PBT, better material, better texture, and different stem profile... So owners of original are screwed :( I'm wondering why no one showing real examples of usage of G-keys, G-shift, and keycontrol? Literally hundreds of reviews and no one ever showed a single real example. Like look - you can make 50 custom macros for Premiere and assign them across all board with g-shift...
@@nicktyler2572 Logitech. A company that has been making mice and keyboards for years n years......not understanding keycaps......on a 100+ dollar keyboard. Logitech is done, you are crazy for buying logitech. You can make macros on 50 dollar chinese keyboards that do let you change keycaps and switches lmao.
@@YTU174 yes and no... New PBT keycaps are wearing off pretty fast too, but in a different way. Legends are not wearing, but texture is getting polished and it starts to look ugly and dirty. 😒
my lg 27gs95qe destoyes my eyes. i am curious about this qd oled
If you sit pretty close, the HDR can get pretty bright on this one. The matte film is nice though to not be really reflective with other lights in the room
What are some of the custom low profile keyboards were you referring to? I likely will return mine and get one that's quieter. The one you showed at 4:20 had a very pleasant sound to the typing.
I think a good alternative for this one would be the Air line from Nuphy. They don't have a full size, but their 96v2 is a good alternative and I feel like they have one of the best out of the box sound. For full size keyboard, I would recommend the Keychron K5 Max. And thanks, the keyboard at 4:20 is the Mode Sonnet and it has a beautiful design, but it's a normal profile keyboard if you're looking for a low profile specific one
@@nerdgrafxwhich Switches Are the Best for g915 x?
@@Troynex I personally would go for the linear switches, but in reality it's all preference based. The sound isn't much different on this keyboard between the different switches
@@nerdgrafx Thank You!
You explain what & when but never how or why 😂
The blackout look is nice!
Right! It's a nice look
Can you get hdr and vrr on PS5 at the same time? How do you like it for PS5 compatiblity?
Yes you can get both at the same time! It works great with PS5 and can handle high refresh rate and the faster frames as well if the game supports it. I didn't have any complaints with the PS5, and it's highly enjoyable
What color icons are you using on your iPhone this year? 👀
Oneui
Great review. I need a monitor for my M4 Mac mini and I can currently get this one for £850 in the UK. I only have windows to the side of the monitor so not sure if a glossy display would be okay. I only have a basic gaming laptop with a GTX2070 so I won't be playing at 4k but I'm hoping it is a good monitor for general usage with the Mac. I'm coming from a 2017 27" iMac so the Mac mini will be a massive upgrade but think I am going to miss the Apple screen. Shame the Apple Studio Display is so expensive and won't work with my Windows laptop.
Thank you for your support! The G80SD does pair well with MacOS and is comparable to the retina display. It won't be 100% the same as the studio display, but they are way better than they were a few years ago. It is a shame that the 5k displays don't work with Windows or with gaming consoles because they would be the best solution for all around if you're on Mac
Got this for $700 guy i bought it from didnt have the time to enjoy it …man this monitor is awesome
What a steal! I always recommend used since you can get a great deal like this one for some brands
hi. I just got this monitor today and the colors look aweful when I plugged my mac in. What cable do you use and can I have your color settings for Mac please?
I used both a 4k 144hz USB C to DP cable from Amazon and the HDMI to HDMI cord that came in the box. These are my color settings I used which I had just taken from the top reddit result and I liked how it looked, the Natural Color tone and High Peak brightness seemed to bring the best change to my eyes: HDR [Game Mode] - Windows 11 PC Brightness: 50 Contrast: 50 Sharpness: 10 Color: 30 (slight boost to color saturation) Tint: 0 Contrast Enhancer: 0 Color Tone: Natural Gamma: ST.2098 Color Space: Auto Peak Brightness: High (medium=530nit, high=1000nit) Game HDR: Basic (enables HGiG and HDR profile)
@@nerdgrafx thank you very much
Can I also have your settings for SDR please? Thanks in advance
@@kiaconchim123 Yeah, here it is: SDR [Game Mode] - Windows 11 PC Brightness: 11 (adjust based on how bright your room is) Contrast: 50 Sharpness: 10 Color: 14 (compensated for the saturation in Native color space) Tint: 0 Contrast Enhancer: 0 Color Tone: Natural Gamma: BT.1886 [0] Color Space: Native (prefers the pop in games)
@@nerdgrafx Hi, I have it connected to USB C to DP cable but I can't get Peak Brightness on. How did you get it on? Also the brightness (white) is really dull on a Mac. I have it on high brightness and on Graphics picture mode. Natural color.
I hope this guy reads this comments and realizes the mistake he made downgrading.
Wait, someone acctually paid for this poc ripoff?😂
How is It a pro if it can’t play disks
Great video! I just ordered this monitor to pair with my new M4 Mac mini and for casual gaming on Windows, so this video is exactly what I was looking for.
Thank you for your support! Enjoy your new monitor, it's a great choice for both operating systems!
Me too, i have just placed the order and then i see this video. hope this combination is good and u r enjoying!
I use my macbook pro and my gaming pc with an LG C3 42 inch. I also have a 1440p 27 inch screen to the side, and it's a great combo.
Oh wow! I have tried using a tv before and it was just too large, but it was a 55 inch. Maybe I'll retry at some point with a 42inch instead, I see a lot more setups now with the LG C-series
lost me interest at "matte display" nice videography, good aesthetics, but.. your review lacks important info or the correct info in the connectivity section; i.e. what mac you're using, and that HDMI 2.0 is maxed out at 4K 60Hz, so thats why you were only getting that option. you need HDMI 2.1 on both sides, for the 4K at higher refresh rates, specially the higher 240Hz you need the not nerfed version of HDMI 2.1. the other thing here is that DP 1.4 is fully capable for higher than 60Hz 4K, lets say 120Hz, but higher than that you need DP 1.4 with DSC specially if used with HDR (im actually not sure if 4K-120Hz HDR is supported without DSC). this last being said, it puzzles me why your connection on DP 1.4 was maxing at 4k 120Hz, instead of a higher refresh rate, lets say 4K 144Hz, which I've seen M2 macs support. is it your mac being an M1 limited to this? is it because you didn't turn on or select on the monitor settings DP 1.4 with DSC enabled ?? is it because the monitor doesn't support 144Hz and skips these options between 120Hz and 240Hz ?? this one is hard to believe. the other thing to clarify is how macOS works with non-native resolutions (anything between 1080p and 4K) on 4K displays, which is by 2x the signal output when these in-between resolutions (1440, 1692, 1890) are selected, which means at 1890 is going over the maxed out signal throughput specs of DP 1.4 at higher than 60Hz. so thats why its limited to 60Hz. on the 1080p the signal becomes their "retina" ideal, which means 4x 1080 signal, which is the equivalent of 4K at 4x DPI, so that is the native signal for the display to begin with, or the normal 4K signal even though is presented at 1080, which looks big af but also crisp and detailed af. And thats why 1080 does let you choose the higher than 60Hz rate, because is within the specs for DP1.4 . when you chose 2160 or 4K, well thats the native or "correct" signal for the display to begin with, and thats just 1:1, which is how I use my 32" 4K displays. thats why for me thats the best size for 4K, I have a 31.5" LG UltraGear IPS that maxes out at 144Hz with my M2 pro mac and it does support the full VRR at 144Hz on DP 1.4 (DSC), but I have disabled the VRR because I dont need it and I think it does not work as with the native panels where it lowers the refresh rates on the laptop to save power. I dont need that while Im plugged in on my desk. and I dont care for the HDR on it so thats a no go on my mac. anyways, nice desk speakers, can you tell me about them? do you have a video review or can you point me in the right direction for a review about them?
Thank you for your detailed feedback! I am pinning your comment in case anyone else wants to complete a detailed look at all the connection settings. As for the 144hz, I am not sure why my Mac could not achieve it with this monitor. I have seen my Mac drive a 144hz display before (a Hisense TV) through the USB C to HDMI. This could be due to a setting within the G80SD that I may have missed. With the USB C to DP I could drive it up to 120hz or VRR, and HDR on, at any resolution though which was great if you wanted to use that connection. You are also correct about the reasoning why my HDMI is limited. It’s a 2.0 port on the M1 Pro 16” Macbook that I have, which is why an HDMI to HDMI connection will not be the best. I would recommend a USB to HDMI or using a docking station that can handle higher resolutions/refresh rates. When I used a Hisense TV, I could drive it to 4K 144hz with a proper cable, which I no longer have since I now only use a thunderbolt display. Thanks again! The speakers on my desk are the Edifier MR4’s, I bought them two years ago and I find it hard to upgrade from them. They give me most of what I need (only not enough bass at low volumes and no sub out port), for <$100. They’re back on sale right now for $97 and might stay this way through November. Here’s a link to my full review: th-cam.com/video/YER5zWRWTD8/w-d-xo.html
I've never really cared for glossy or matte displays before, but if you think about it and watch more reviews that G80SD matte display is the best amongst others.
could you help me with connectivity with my macbook and this monitor?
@@czvwr yeah dude. What MacBook? What’s wrong?
Good job covering the monitor detailed
Thank you for your support!
You connected USB-C to Displayport, did it keep the refresh rate at 120Hz?
Yes! USB C to DisplayPort will allow you to select variable refresh rate or 120hz only!
@@nerdgrafx Thanks this was a great review.
The text quality wasn't too bad from your 5K?
@@nexlogic34 Not bad at all! Text clarity, especially on the 1080 setting, was great
Yes a total steal. I love mine. Where I sit my ears are about equal distance to the front of the speakers and they sound fantastic. No fatigue after listening all day at my desk.
Exactly! Even now, 2 years later for me, they offer everything I need from desktop speakers. You can't beat them, especially at the sale price that they go to every November
They are great for my use. Highly recommend for the price.
How are these for watching movies movies on a Sony tv and Sony 4k player for late night viewing?
I want that sound or Air75 V2 💔
depends if you move to different locations a lot. If you're more stationary, get the Halo75
i watched monitor video and this one, it is enjoyable but you need to do something about those weird sounds when putting your socials or something :D
Haha thanks for watching! I can definitely test other sounds effects instead of the ones I am using. Appreciate the feedback!
It's a great keyboard but it has one major flaw: the intelligent Backlight! It immediately turns off after being inactive even if you rest your fingertips on the keys. That is very annoying because backlight is only useful in dark light conditions. But when it turns off just after typing the last letter you have first to touch the key board for turning on backlight again before following on with typing. That makes me crazy. I contacted Logitech support but there is no option available to adjust the time after inactivity when intelligent backlight should turn off. That makes the whole thing useless
I agree! I recently purchased the G915X which also has an auto-turn off feature by default which gets annoying when you first have to click a key to turn on the keyboard. It's worse when the key legends are not visible without the backlight
Is this keyboard not suitable for gaming?
It has a 100hz polling rate which makes it very well suited for gaming! I have not used it for gaming, but the specs for gaming are impressive
I just tried using my g915 tkl and after a quick setup, I love the feel over the MX keys mini for mac. I also noticed that using the lightspeed adapter is a better experience than BT, so if you have a KVM or USB hub on your monitor, I would recommend using that to switch from PC to Mac with one cable.
Thanks for the recommendation! I just recently picked up the 915X, and the G Hub is working well, most of the downsides I had with the original 915 are addressed with this new one as well. But they did become more like the MX Keys Mechanical in terms of typing feel and sound
