Finding Hourglass Crystals and Seeing the Twister The Movie Museum!!
Hey guys!
On Saturday, October 12th, my two youngest children and I visited the Great Salt Plains in Oklahoma for our very first time. We learned how to find the hourglass selenite crystals, show you our process, and try to show what it's like from a first timer's perspective. We will definitely go back! It was a lot of fun, and quite beautiful, too! Digging dates are from April 1-October 15, so they're closed for the season at the time of this upload.
After we dug for a couple of hours, we went to Wakita, OK to tour the Twister the Movie Museum, and see the film location where Aunt Meg's house was. So much fun!!
Hope you enjoy this adventure with us, and thank you so much for all of the support!! God bless,
-Joe

มุมมอง 1.5K21 วันที่ผ่านมา
Hey guys! On Thursday, October 17th I was able to visit the Rubie Mine in Mt. Ida, Arkansas for my second time. Here is a Quick Look at my dig there and some of the crystals I was able to find during my visit...I gotta say, I am pretty excited about this mine! SO many great pieces can be found here. The owner, Mark, is a great host, and I enjoyed both of my visits quite a bit. The mine is still...

I will have a part 2 coming up in about 2, maybe 3 weeks. FAQ's Question 1: Does this mine have rubies? No. No it doesn't. It is named after the community of Rubie, Arkansas, just north of Mt. Ida. Question 2: When does it open? Earliest will be December, but in all honesty it'll probably be early 2025. Question 3: Can I drive my car there? Yes. The road back to the mine is easier than going to...

Hey guys! Last week I was able to visit the Crater of Diamonds State Park again. I had a great time, as always, and can't wait to get back. On Monday, I went to the Crater, on Wednesday, I went to a NEW crystal mine in Mt. Ida, then on Saturday, I was a vendor at a show...all while working full time. Because of that, I have not had the time to go grain by grain to see if I have any diamonds fro...

Hey guys! I recently made another trip to the northwest Arkansas and southwest Missouri border and did some mining along a road cut. I found some more dogtooth calcite crystals, fossils, druzy quartz, PURPLE calcite, dolomite, sphalerite and other minerals. If anyone knows what those tiny green crystal inclusions are in some of my pieces, please let me know in the comments below! Thanks so much...
Buying a Crystal Basket from Ron Coleman Mining...And Is It Worth It??

Hey guys! On Friday, August 23rd, I went to the Ron Coleman Crystal Mine and purchased one of their crystal baskets they have sitting out front by the entrance to the gift shop. In this video, I show what you can expect from one of their baskets. I have made a video about their baskets last year, but wanted to get an updated video out there in case any of you were wondering what they're like cu...

Hey guys, last Friday, August 23rd, I went to the Ron Coleman Crystal Mine with my son Ben. We had a great time and found many crystals, several of which were very large. I show what the tailings area looks like, the tools I mainly use when searching tailings piles, and go over some of my method for finding these treasures. Also, I tell how to dig for FREE at the mine. I hope you enjoy and that...
Finding Smoky Quartz at Pine Ridge Crystals!

Hey guys! On Saturday, August 10th I went to Pine Ridge Crystals which is located in Oden, AR. This was my third time digging at this location...it's always a lot of fun! I dug in a spot that had quite a few smoky quartz crystals, which I was thrilled to find! They're pretty rare here in Arkansas. In this video, I try to show a little bit of my process for digging the crystals at this location....

Sorry to ask a dumb question, but what do you do with them?
Theese videos are super cool and just overall nice to watch!
Enjoyed that you enjoyed it. Good video!
Thank you!! I went there again yesterday, and will have another video uploaded in the upcoming few days. :)
I enjoyed watching this last night and told my wife about it. She wanted to see it, so we’re watching it now. We’ve thought about taking our 2 young boys, but that’s pretty hardcore! Thanks for all the pro tips!
My wife and I have talked about making the trek out there. Looks like a lot of fun-thanks for all the great info!
We can't wait for this dig site to open back up!
I hope i get to dig with you guys one day!
Man I want to go dig there so bad , Sadly they closed down the Great Salt lake digging area ( I told people to fill in their holes 😡). I do think I like the look of the digging here a lot more , its sand and not disgusting stinking mud speaking of that , what's the smell like there? the Salt lake in Utah stinks due to all the dead brine shrimp its a very Sulphur type smell . Thats a very cool big cluster you found there near the end I love the way a lot of them look like Christmas tree stars. Also do those give a glow under UV light ? That was a cool video Joe cant wait to go digging with you again.
WOW, you found some AMAZING pieces!!!!!!!! Great video :)
Amazing video my friend!! Thank you for sharing!!
Joe, I cannot express how much I enjoy watching your videos. I may sound crazy, I'm not, lol, but I laugh and talk right with you. Thank you for sharing your family and your adventures. ❤
You just made my day...thank you so much!! :)
Joe, Thank you for taking us along on a very entertaining and fun hunt. What a great time with your children. Those crystals look like they are very fragile. Great video, fun video, very nice to see the kids involved. Keep up the good work. God Bless.
@@DanielKearney-zp6gp thank you so much!! I appreciate the encouragement and the support! Hope you have a great day today!!
@@joedadbod8450 I love that you involve your children in your hobby. They may not be as excited but they are having an experience that most kids never get. Good j0ob Dad.
@@DanielKearney-zp6gp Thank you!! I try to get them all to come with me, but between their school schedules, their activities, and my work schedule, it doesn't always work out. So glad that my youngest two came...they like to live "in the moment" and don't really like being included in my videos (afraid a friend might see them), so they weren't as enthusiastic as they normally are.
Took my daughter, sister & nephew a couple years ago and only found teeny tiny ones. Those your kids found were amazing! Great finds
It was like fishing...I kept getting the little ones and they got the big ones! As a dad, I would rather it be that way though.
Those look like anchovies the kind you throw on pizza the little saltfish
Ha! I'm not an anchovy kinda guy, so I never made that connection. lol
great stuff! looks like an awesome day out on the plains =]
Thanks! We had a lot of fun!!
Hi. What's that animal?
Do it under a uv light...
Thanks for covering this. I feel like your videos are informative, fun, and fair. I also like the family vibe.
Price is to high.
Spectacular crystals! The clarity is amazing and I just love the cluster with the Smokey points! ❤
I live in Oklahoma and I’m so interested in visiting the Rubie Mine in Mountain Ida but I cannot find an exact location for it. Please, if you don’t mind, let me know where this awesome place is. I want to drag my husband to join me in the search for cool things!
Amazing video!! Thanks for sharing!!
Nice video Joe...if you go back on a wed thur or friday and can bring somebody holler at me I will drive up from DFW for the day
Great video. That looks awesome there. So clear. Glad to hear everything went good from the storm last night. Take care.
Yeah, see, that's what I would like to be able to find, some nice size clusters. But I've only been to Ron Coleman. And I live in Florida.
Hey Joe, Excellent video. This mine has some of the best and largest crystals I have seen on the tube. I love the way you explain what and why you are doing when digging. I have never dug on a mine like this but your information is valuable to everyone. I also like the way you show the cleaned crystals right after digging them. Lots of editing there. Keep up the good work and God Bless.
Thank you!! I appreciate the compliment and the support. It means a lot. Thanks!!
Holy Cow Joe this place is looks amazing , I am loving the fact that there seems to be more and more mines opening up in Arkansas , I cannot wait to get down there .. Also hope you are good with the storms that are going through , they are just now getting to me in the St.Louis area at midnight
Thanks Jeff! yeah, we're good here at my house. A lot of people lost power in several neighborhoods around us, and there are several trees down. My boss had a tree go through his roof and let a TON of water in. Health-wise, everyone I know is fine though, so that's the important part. Hope y'all are safe up there in the St. Louis area!!
Good going Joe and thanks for the awesome video! And also thanks to Mark as well. I'm looking forward to checking that place out.
Thanks so much!! Yes, definitely keep it on your radar...I'm really liking it so far!!
Very cool video Joe DadBod very nice finds hope you are having a wonderful bless week
Thank you so much!! I so appreciate all of your encouragements and support. You're a blessing!!
Wow! So amazing. Just got home from my first trip to Arkansas and looking for crystals. Harder than I expected but I’m addicted now 😂
Ive been studying diamonds i wish i could go in one of these places where its legal i would find the biggest one ever known to men!
@@ashleythomas5249 I hope you get a chance to find one soon!!
Hi There, How's Are Yujj
you had an amazing day, so many beautiful clusters! Great video you are doing so well!
I really enjoyed this whole video! I like the way you format things, sharing the digging, the discovery and immediately giving a glimpse of the cleaned pieces. It was neat to get an idea of what it’s like from start to finish while you’re there, and then the result of your hours of digging back at home, along with the pieces cleaned up. I especially enjoyed seeing the grounds and gift shop. Thanks for sharing your tips and experience!
@@Amethyst_Annie thank you so much!! You just made my morning…that’s very humbling. Thank you. Sincerely.
My girl and I are going to Arkansas in March. Hopefully we'll see you at a site. We're rock NUTTS too! 😁🙌 We watch all your videos 🔥
Hey Joe! Hope you're well 👊 Was wondering if you'd use my music in your videos? I have 3 albums out and you're welcome to use any and all of it free of charge 😁 Rusted Soul is the name of my band. Whatcha think?
Really nice finds!
Beautiful 😍
Very very cool , Loving th points coming out of there , I will be back in Arkansas in December for sure , will hit you up, pick your brain and if not busy lets go digging again brother man.
Horrible that they did a slash and burn of the forest.
That was done before he took ownership, from what I understand.
Beautiful crystals
The clarity of these crystals is remarkable! Despite the hard work, you’re obviously enjoying the labor 😅 (and the fruits thereof)
@@raygay3375 I agree!! The Jessieville area produces some of the best water-clear crystals you can find on the planet. Really top notch stuff!!
It's so neat to see that all the mines have different themes of sorts for their crystals. It's like each mine's finger print. Sweet finds!
Amazing video!! Thanks for sharing!!
thank you so much!!
I love the Fifth Element reference 😂
I remember seeing it in the theater way back in the day. A lot of great lines in it!!
Joe, That was a very exciting video. I was glued to my seat for sure. You found some very nice crystals and lots of them . I have been following your videos for a while now, and like the way you operate and explain a lot of the things you are doing. Keep up the good work , and God Bless.
@@DanielKearney-zp6gp thank you so much!! That’s very humbling, for sure. I appreciate all of the support and your encouraging comment. 😊
I’m ready, just tell me when to book my trip.
@@jackiesheldon be sure to follow Mark’s page on Facebook to get all of the latest and greatest info. He said the earliest would be December, but in all honesty it might be the first month or two of 2025 before it’s fully ready. I went for my second time last week, and will have a follow up video coming soon!! Stay tuned!! 👍😊
Can't wait to visit! Looks to be a great place to find something interesting for sure🙌
@@laurahaught5969 You’re gonna love it, and I hope your experience is even better than mine. I went last week for a follow up visit, and will have another update for the mine in about two weeks. I was able to pull a good amount out on that trip too! There’s a lot of great pieces coming out of there!
