7 movies that embody the 7 deadly sins 🐍🍎🎥

Who do I have to talk to in order to get the Tim Roth movie on streaming? Some sins were super easy to assign a movie to (ie. Lust lol), while others took more time. Please please please leave your choices below; I'm super interested to see what you picked! Hope you enjoyed this video, even if you watched the movies already. why are ballerinas always so unhinged in movies? 🩰🎥
มุมมอง 42K4 หลายเดือนก่อน
From the 40's to present day, the world of ballet has been used as a backdrop for dramatic stories that often feature young women and their relationship with themselves (and their peers). As a former ballerina myself, I've always been drawn to these stories, due to the subject matter, and decided to take a look at the stereotypes that frequently show in these movies. Costume design is one of my favorite parts when I'm watching a movie, but sometimes I get annoyed by random things. This is what happens when you have fashion designers design costumes for movies. I literally spent hours rewatching and screenshotting "Challengers" in order to zoom in on the tiny details. From her Cartier stud earrings to her one-time mother of pearl necklace, there was a lot to take in on my subsequent watches. I'm obsessed with this movie! ultimate beginner's guide to "old hollywood" movies 📽️ where + what to watch

Watching old black and white movies is so Blair Waldorf coded. If you've always wanted to get into classic films, I'm compiled these recommendations for you as a starting point. Romance, comedy and thriller genres tend to be the easiest to get into, since they're easy to watch and have compelling plots (plus they usually have great costuming). He studied Japanese Art History at Harvard. Nothing he did was out of malice. He didn’t interview her for her life story, only background knowledge because she was a Geisha, and a Business woman. She never said he stole her life story, only some characters in the book resembled some of the real characters in Mineko Iwasaki's life, that she shared with the author in a private conversation. Golden also accidentally listed Iwasaki as a source in the acknowledgments of the book in the end of the book, and This led to Iwasaki facing harassment and death threats. Golden's publisher (who was meant to fix mistakes) settled with Iwasaki out of court, and her lawyer claims she left with half of the claim to the entire books profits (estimated to be 10 million at the time). Stop spreading hatred and just admit you don’t want to share your cultures, traditions, and history.

17:56 her filled in necklace symbolizes that in this moment, Tashi feels “whole” aka she doesn’t feel like there’s a void in her and so it is easier for her to resist art and walk away from him since she doesn’t need him to fill void in her. In the scene when she goes to meet up with art in his car, her circle necklace now has a hole in it - meaning tashi now has a void in her that she needs to somehow fill and that’s by using Art to fill hole in her soul/heart/self esteem/etc. Zendaya mentioned how all of them struggle with filling the void within them and they do this by using each other in one way or another. When people are codependent, they feel like there is a void or hole in their heart and they are incapable of filling it themselves and thus need to use others (not even consciously aware they’re using someone else) in order to fill their void

Patrick is in love with Art and loved him more than even Tashi. But Art is in love with Tashi. Patrick’s love towards Art is in the details like Patrick wearing Art’s clothes but Art does not wear Patrick’s clothes. This is why I loved the movie so much.

Explains all of the misconceptions around geishas in the movie 😅 they behaved more like oiran than actual geishas, with all the seducing stuff and the mizuage (although it sometimes happened in those times and earlier times, until it was banished, I think). Sayuri even dressed like a oiran in her snow performance 😂. We might've just seen geishas in accordance to his own fantasies 😂😅 also, who thinks he kinda looks like Harry Collet?

The Yunioshi scenes aside.. The movie really is something great. Be Kind Rewind talks about the what ifs if the movie were made today and stuck to the original writings of the book, but this movie (minus the racist caricature) holds a place in my heart. I could especially relate to Holly where she doesn't want to be caged, but inadvertently does the thing she swore not to do. Her past of marrying Doc at a young age, and having a close bond with her brother. There really was a theme about loving yourself and being allowed to accept love from others. Don't forget that Moon River Scene, so beautiful and reveals that Holly, without the make-up and fine dresses. Is just a girl who has gone through it and yearns for something more. Paul really showed her that despite her past, her awkward feelings towards genuine love, and the time he waited for her, to put two and two together about her feelings. Like damn.. I need a Paul in my life too haha

the thing about Belle's dress in the live action isn't just the lack of corset(which I think if used would have made the dress a TINY bit better) but it's the general design of it... like first of all looks like a literal kids princess dress like I am fairly certain I had some form of yellow princess dress when I was younger that looked EXACTLY like the dress in the movie... and that's a bad thing... I feel like they maybe could have gone without the corset if they tried to bring more volume to the skirt and maybe the shoulders or neckline. like maybe using some ruffles around the neck and maybe more poofy sleeves like in the original animated film and also actually make the dress have some damn volume. would it be 100 accurate to the time period? No- but would definitely feel more magical and not like a literal kids costume dress... like what makes the costume fall apart for me isn't necessarily the lack of corset but the lack of structure and contrast in volume over all..

Like, why is he in the first minutes of the movie? So sad to see the lack of inclusion back in the day :(. I never hear of "Flower Drum Song"! Maybe a double feature is what I need to finally watch it 😀❤ BTW we totally need the remake version with Annabella Soong's character x hot and accurate Mr. Yunioshi! P.S. 7:46 Girl! Oh man I recently told my boyfriend all about Mickey Rooney in this because I referenced it offhand, he had no idea what I was talking about, and he was floored when I showed him. It's....incredibly unfortunate. Both him and the director Blake Edwards regret it and would do it differently today but also plead ignorance. Typical, but it's pretty close to the best you can hope for under the circumstances. As a huge Hepburn girl it's pretty middle of the road. Novel is better and there are better AH movies. But, I do think it should be seen, especially for it *feeling* every bit as iconic and for that luscious score.
