I grew up riding motorcycles and I thought this would be a great way for my kids to work with me and get involved with motorbikes. I'm not a good mechanic, I don't have very many tools, and I'm sure that I'll make a lot of mistakes. I want to show that even with limitations you can still make a go at creating some fantastic machines.

Freezing -9F Degrees? NO PROBLEM for This Motorcycle Rider!
2025 adventures start in January. Getting this one ready for the road and then riding it when it was -9 degrees. That sounds like a crazy person. Once the brakes are fixed and the fairing is back on - this one is going to the side and we are going to put another bike on the lift and save another one.

Can Evapo-rust save another rusty tank?

Rust has killed some many machines, and we are initiating our effort today to prevent this Suzuki GS750 from losing one of its main components - the TANK! Can we do this? Enter Evaporust - hopefully this can cure our tank from the cancer that is eating it away. Aren't subscribed? WHY NOT? The Suzuki GS750 roars to life!
มุมมอง 23114 วันที่ผ่านมา
After some fun over New Years Eve - it was time to get back to work. Disassembling the carburetors another, replacing most of the internals and throwing in some new sparks plugs, the 1981 Suzuki GS750 ROARED back to life. Of course we had to take it for a spin around the driveway - even though it was only 12 degrees....Minnesota, eh! Aren't subscribed? WHY NOT? Do it here: th-cam.com/channels/Y...

MSF Basic Riding Course - is it any good?
This is a fun video, really fun. Moto vlogs? Yes....Minnesota tour? mmhmm sounds great. really want to see it.....Collabs and interviews? yep....New channel? I'll be there (I enjoy making shorts too)....You are on the right track no doubt.
Thanks Chuck, I'm glad that you liked this one as I'm really looking forward to what 2025 brings us!
Cold will only make the rides in spring only better. 58 days till spring, 44 days till Daytona . 11 degrees in West Virginia ......Yeah! keep your legs in the wind. Can't wait to see what comes , Thanks
Right, days are getting longer....can't wait for those warm temps!!!
I think the guy out in the shop could have used your help. I like seeing the interviews but I could see how it’s hard to nail people down to get it done. We’re going to watch whether you decide to put together but now curious as to what’s coming in the summer
Thanks so much Marc. Loads of things planned and I love having your support. I think I would have just been in the way in the garage, for sure would have messed up my nice new sweater 🤔💪
You are a minnasotian for sure! It was 4d -13 wind chill today and i barely made it to the mailbox and back!
The windchill is brutal - we've had some cold spells so far this year! Cant wait for this one to break. -20 this morning with a windchill closing in on -40. School was even canceled. Ready for the 70's to return!!!
This was so cold...however, very fun. Would you do it?
My dream bike :) but for this year I go gently with XVS 1100 starting from a 700cc tourer in previous years. Hopefully in 2-3 years I will be riding a stratoliner also :) Cheers from Poland buddy!
I love it - keep moving forward and enjoy the ride.
Poland - WOW - I love that TH-cam has no bounds. Thanks for watching!
Where do you buy the fridge at the fridge? So cool?
BestBuy, but we aren't going to get a that. It's too flashy.
lol. Does anyone really need a fridge that can get on the internet
Right
Nice pick up. I'd love that auction site. 😊 lots of project bikes to do. Till next time.
Thanks, the auction is fun, exciting to watch your bid make it through.....til next time 💪
You gotta love Temu Christmas. Awesome score at the auction site 50 bucks for all that not sure what the wheel chalk brand is, but it’s gotta be worth that by itself.
I can't believe how clear the image was on the scope - that was a huge surprise. 50 bucks....crazy. I'm looking forward to getting the wheel chock installed on the black trailer.
Temu Scope for the Win! That stuff is crazy. Can not wait to see how the inside of the tank looks when your are done. Motorcycle only auction? Is that a local thing?
I have high hopes for the Evaporust to do the trick - but we'll see.
The aution is not only motorcycles - but occasionally there has been motorcycle things. I wish there was a motorcycle auction close to me that would be awesome and probably more dangerous than Facebook ;)
I was suprised at how clear the display was on that scope - crazy!
@@ACECafeBikeswhere I used to live in De I was not far from a motorcycle scrap yard. You couldn't take a full bike, but for a 12 pack and a little cash they would let you walk around and pick parts. They were bought out and now don't let people in for safety 😢. I got the best tool kit out of a BMW K75
Oh yeh. Plenty worse than that! I usually try and break up the old fuel first with a degreaser or any random chemical or detergent before tackling the rust component of the inner mess with evaporust.
That is great advice that I should have done. I have the tank sitting in my office - trying to keep it warm enough to be an active agent and I think it will struggle with the hard shell of rust near the upper levels of the tank. Too bad this guy stored this bike with the tank half empty - having gas in it I think is what is saving the bottom. Thanks agiain.
I think we can save this tank, what do you think? Let me know if you have seen one worse than this!
That is a fatty, for sure! I've trimmed it like you do.
She sure was!! We love them big!
I agree be yourself and I look forward to seeing what you produce in 2025.
Thanks so much!
I tried to not over-edit. I am a stumbling, bumbling fool when I record... so there's tons of dead air and misspoken words, ugh. I honestly admire you and everyone else who can one-take a video. That's a skill that I just don't possess :(
I really like you style buddy and you live to edit - so bring it on!! My wife would disagree with your admiration - she thinks i never shut up 🤔💪
@@ACECafeBikes Well, there's never shutting up, and there's going off in 17 different directions at once, like I do. I knocked about 5 minutes off the runtime of my "93% off a Harley sweatshirt" video by just removing side stories that had no bearing on what I was trying to share in the video. It's a real problem. Heck, in the effort to cut runtime and editing time, I have apparently trained my brain to keep on talking... and it's bled into my real life. My wife says I never shut up and I only talk at her. I just tell her to boop the like button and subscribe for more nonsense. She's not a fan.
LOL, yeah, I can confirm that you are the same person in-person as you are on camera, and I'm there for it. People are always surprised when they meet ME in person that I'm the same over-exuberant out-going personality that I am in videos :D Also, geez man, that's a lot of work to get the tree out, ugh. We have a fake tree, pre-lit, and it's much more my style :D
Yes, it was great meeting you in really life, as you are the same as you present yourself as well. We love having a real tree - that pine tree smell immediately makes me feel like it's Christmas!! We have 4 fake trees outside ❤️
@@ACECafeBikes LOL, fake trees outside and real ones, that's hilarious! As for the pine smell... what about a candle or something? I remember us having real trees as a kid. Mom would spend forever lighting it, and it would drop needles all over the place, it was such a mess. As an adult, I don't want any part of that, LOL.
Please always be yourself and I'm 100% sure you will, when making your content. That's what makes channels like yours a pleasure to watch. Take care 👍
I appreciate that! Thanks so much for your kind words. 2025 is going to be our best year yet!
We used to do the big tree thing. Now it's a fake skinny tree.😂
Our fake trees are for outside, don't think we'll ever do that inside. 👍
lol. That is a big oh tree. I can definitely say same guy on camera as in person.
Thanks buddy!! We do love them big and fat!
Let me know how you take your tree out. Do you do it like this?
Is that a cloth seat cover?
Denim, crazy choices.....
@ Your build, your choice right!? I think it will turn out good for you.
No gloves?? I can't believe you still have the skin intact on your fingers!
No doubt!
Good work mate, and a Happy New Year to you all
Thanks so much!!
He’s to a great 2025
Absolutely!!
Its going to be great!! Can't wait to get started!!
Do you have an Amazon link for this wheel chock?
I think so, is there not a link in the description?
Sometimes it's the simple things, like getting an old bike to turn over, eh? Also, time to get a tripod and a phone holder...
Absolutely
Secluded place is what you tried to say. I had a Road Star that’s just below this bike in size. I wish now I had purchased a Strat or RLiner. However, I ended up purchasing a Royal Star Venture S or RSV as it’s known in the Yamaha community. I like that it’s shaft drive, but belt would have been ok, too.
Ah yes - secluded - that is the word I was looking for - talking is hard ;) I've heard that the Royal Star Venture is a great bike as well. I had one of those on our radar for awhile. I'm looking forward to having a full year with this guy....2026....who knows, may find something else. What is your dream cruiser?
Ahh, the good ol' compression test. Man, I haven't done a lot of this stuff in decades [well, EVER on a bike, but on cars]. Good times - I'm sure the next video will have her running like a top :D
My compression tester I think has a mind of its own though - I hate to blame the tool - but I'm not sure I can trust that thing. Next video - you bet we'll get it running!
Totally get not want8ng to turn the camera on. Ohh wow. Its Alive! I was wondering how much gas you could hold in that contraption. Those pipers are so clean. Put the airbox in 1st then slide the cards in. That's how you got it out. Or you can get some pods.
Yeah, sometimes it's best to work with your own thoughts:) Getting this making a good consistent noise was such a good feeling. My feelings towards the original airbox, at the moment, is straight for the bin!! Air pods to the rescue, but before that - I give it a little more love and see where we get.
The struggles real! Congratulations and Happy New Year 🎉
Thanks! The struggle is part of the fun, right? Happy New Year!
I'm excited! Victory! hung up brakes are the worst. Way to go on the win.
Me too, now that it's running - brakes, fork seals, tank, and a good clean, and she is ready for a spring sale 😀
Success! Yes, you knew it would run even not on all cylinders so why it decided to not run all of a sudden.?? It just wanted some more attention I think 😄
Apparently-HA! It was a surprise indeed. However, it seems to be running on 3 sometimes 4 cylinders now - so there is still hope for fixing itself. 💪
WIth temps nearing single digits we were able to have some fun with GS750 as it finally came back to life - sounds really good! Cant wait for spring. THAT WIND!!!!
I don’t film sometimes too. Just don’t feel like it all the time. I definitely looks cold and I keep thinking your doing flips with the camera falling over.
That wind was ridiculous yesterday - I'm very pleased to hear this thing come to life and actually ride it - even though it was so cold
It's Running! Its amazing how the carb bank and air box are jammed in there. Sorry you didn't get the result you wanted, but I felt like a learned a couple things. No idea that was how to do a compression test. Seeya next time.
Thanks so much. I know this was a long with a lousy result - but if we always win - what are we learning. :) 2025!!!
I appreciate you making these videos, this is huge for somebody with little experience and a bike they want to put the work in to restore. Being able to see this process makes it way less scary to try myself
Absolutely the idea that drives this channel - well that and having fun doing it. I'm so glad that you enjoy them.
That carb... Great work with the camera work Chase! I think the round piece of steel in the tool kit is for the spark plug socket, just a guess. Maybe try it with the airbox back on? A pain in the butt but it's only a time investment. You will win the next round! Happy new year! 5K let's go!
Thanks Paul. I'm working on it again today - I'll try putting the airbox back on as well. Hopefully it all comes together. Happy New Year!!
@@ACECafeBikes Good luck! (btw it's Russ) 🙂
@DocJonesGarage I'm so sorry, I'm sure I've messed that up before, not any more. Thanks Russ!
I never would have thought that would run on 1cylinder. Amazing. Fun video to watch. It was probably a little aggravating to make, but that happens......ask me how I know hahahaha. I lost a few rounds myself.
Haha, it was actually aggravating results. But, like you, it's fun doing the work. Happy New Year!
Needles in UPSIDEDOWN?!?!?! That's a new one for me! 😂
Yeah - that was interesting. The smashed boot was scary too - thankfully we were able salvage it. She is all coming apart tomorrow - fingers crossed
Does the front support fold down or remove easy to access the front wheel to work on it? I can see with a fuse that the tire can be removed by pulling it through both sides.
Yes, the front stop can be easily removed for access to front tire.
All around 90 psi = good compression and junk compression tester. I have the same harder freight compression tester and it did the same to me after storing it in the garage for couple of years. Get another one and see what you got.
Well that is great news and I will definitely do that. Thanks for suggesting this, it was something that I suspected, but then out of the blue....and different reading. Thanks for watching and commenting. Happy New Year.
Round 3 knockout coming. I love the altar sonic cleaner but yeah sometimes it’s not a cleaning thing and just needs some new parts thrown at it. Also excited to hear another custom project coming down the pipe. Kinda what got it all started.
I'm hoping for a knockout in round 3! I'm really looking forward to the next build...I think you'll like the choices. Happy New Year Marc!!
Great content and mechanical work as always. Looking forward to seeing future videos. Take care and I wish you and your Family a wonderful and prosperous New Year in 2025 👍
What a wonderful comment, thank you so much. I wish you the same for 2025!!! Onwards!!!
That’s the best feeling! Congrats.
It is cool hearing them make noise - for sure
garbage
mostly
I keep my expectations low when ordering from there. I did get a nice pack of multi size shrink tube for free one time. I love those solder butt connectors. They seem to hold up pretty well. Jerry Christmas!
I completely agree. Hope for the best, expecting to be let down
Cool video, not hating or anything but it will help you gain more respect off the motorcycle community if you learn to say Akrapovic the right way.
Thanks for the tip
You get feck all for free!!!! You have to buy something which cost money or am I being the dumb one 😂😂😂😂😂😂
NOt sure I understand this - but yes the things I mentioned were free, were free and I did buy some things
Junk😅
Some of it
