Absolutely!! It was so much fun to get over there and get her rolling. Took it over there about 3 months ago, zeroed the miles on the trip, and when I got there (expecting to see many miles) there was still zero :( Fixed that now - she has about 5 miles now and HOOKED!
Welp, a few things. The bullet holes in the back seat are for the stock grab handle, black rubber piece. Oddle enough previous owners of mine had it mounted under the radiator. But it also had the bracket to mount the trunk and use the rear seat. I know right away those weren't stock mufflers. Nice swing away system. It has the seatbelt buckle attachment for the bags, just no key cylinder to lock them in. If you do strip this one down, the side covers match my OE ones. The mounts are really fragile though. One blew off during a ride and I didn't notice it until later. My wife says my GL500 is too big, but that's just because of the faring likely. They seem like pretty small bikes without the bulk. How fun.
I think they are super fun - and light - maybe you need another one for your wife?? I am going to modify this one as we move into winter - wont be needing the side covers - I can totally send them to you. All the tabs are good and the slots are not cracked. Looking forward to another build (after we get done with some other things)
@ well, I do have two others, one is in pieces, the other is missing heads. I did pick up a Coleman mini bike. So going to start small with her & kids, and go up next spring.
I've always wanted to get one of those bikes. Do you know whats different between that and the cx500? One of the coolest engine designs ever. Maybe one day I'll find enough money to get myself one. Like the channel!
I'm not sure there is anything different with the engine. The main thing that I have noticed - the GL500 has a more robust reg/rectifier due to the addition of the extra electrics - like the radio and additional lights. For me, the biggest difference is the GL500 has a mono-shock. I think this offers a better ride and opens the door for a variety of customizing options.
“I hope I’m not of fire!” 😮 what?!
This was so much fun!! Thank you for your help and patience!
I LOVE my bike!!!
So much fun, can't wait to do it again!!
That was so fun to watch! Good to see you both out riding. Those tires looked wicked and nor in a good way! Have fun dreaming up a new design😊
It was a lot fun to make - glad she hopped on and went for it.
I've got some plans - it will be different ;)
That's awesome! I'm looking forward to your progress.
She is going to do great!
Amazing Silverwing ❤ i love my bike 😊
Thanks so much!!!
Why would you ever ride it in the lower sport mode. Her bike is looking great and nice to see her out on it.
