Goodyear's NEW Boulder MT is Revolutionary!
In this video I give my first impressions on the NEW GoodYear Wrangler Boulder MT. Goodyear was kind enough to send me a set to try out on my 2 door Ford Bronco. I used to always run the @Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac's on my trucks, now it's time to test them out on the Bronco.

No bad for a Jeep! 😉
Man, that’s a nice looking Jeep! 😉
Thank you for this video. Clearly, the Subaru would have done much better had it been given a reasonably appropriate set of tires. As it was, it did fairly well on what appear to be on-road, touring-tread tires.
Great review bro!
@@AdventuresOfRogersAndHenderson thanks man! I appreciate that!
@ 🤘🤘🤘
I understand you just hating on a thing like that. That's disgusting.! 😮😢
Gonna take a closer look at these tires, thanks for the review. I really wish they would bring back the wrangler mt kevlar though
Pneu é tudo
My favorite part was you towing a jeep through an obstacle lol! No great video dude! Those tires look great
haha... to be fair, that rope was there for both of us. Was just faster for him to pull me back or me to pull him trough haha. If you ever make it to the East coast, I'll take you there!
Come on up, and i will bring you there and see if i can’t get you to break an axle too 😉! Love your videos by the way, would love to have you up here with us for a camping trip at the lake.
Bravo, one of the best MT tire reviews I've seen! My KM3s are so badass I couldn't possibly switch but if I did I would check these out. BTW, awesome rig.
Thanks for the kind words. I'll be testing out the KM3's against this new tire soon, so stay tuned!
Very, very similar to the original Goodyear wrangler TD/MT from the late 80’s and early 90’s. As far as I’m concerned it’s not revolutionary. Goodyear shouldn’t have discontinued it back then
Oh my, I just looked up the Wrangler TD.... Looks nothing like it!
Now show the knot on the sidewall. Goodyear makes crap tires.
@@abunchofnothing8603 what knot? ...
Your handle is not “ a bunch of nothing “ for nothing eh… got s bunch of nothing good to say lol
💪👍
@@Soldatik1985 thanks!
Knew this trail looks familiar. Did you get the new tires to redeem yourself?
Haha.
What size tires are you running? Is your Bronco lifted at all?
37x12.5r17 with a 5 inch lift
There's a simple explanation for the winch not working.....its got the hump because of the tyres...thinks its out of a job😂
🤣
Looks super easy need to be at like 11psi for that.
LMAO
Cool video!
Thanks!
Now if only I could drive a set of 33's on the 2015 Tacoma I bought a few months ago. My pride & joy but spent most of the budget finding it & really wish I could "test" drive all these new mud terrains versus the RT & AT's I've had. The unknown of burning $1300 on 4 tires that may roar more than a WRX on blocks is too big of an "if" for me. I wind up buying AT's every time now. Ridge Grapplers, BFG, Maxxis Razrs & Falken AT'3s. Don't see how guys chance dropping that much on a tire that may torture you after 5k miles with the sound a jake brake for the next 20k
haha, well to be fair, I really don't care if they get noisy. I off road pretty heavy with my Bronco. For a Tacoma with 33's doing some light offroad and overlanding, I'd stick with All Terrains like you said. I'm really liking the Duratrac RT's we put on our 4 door Bronco. I have a review for those as well.
Most of "These People", buy Tires, Ditch lights, Molle and color matching decorative shackles, on Credit, for the LOOK. I wouldn't even go on this trail unless there were Hookers with Coke waiting at the end! So good for NSB for Bustin his Bronco for likes from strangers.
@@UncleFjester How do you know there wasn't? Man, it was the most fun weekend I've had in a long time. Worth it.
Toughest trail in Eastern Canada is it?? LOL
I said "One of" 😆 and yes, with that deep water, and Ice, it's no joke.
You’re welcome to come try it out next year before she freezes. We say things like that because that’s our oppinion with what we got to work with, if you have something better i woukd love to try it out! And not saying it in a mean or asshole way either, just trying to see whats out there. If you wana try it out come out buddy!
I have that same stove...had similar problems. I got the Pomoly Large stove with 3 inch stovepipe and it fixed all the problems. I think those little Temu stoves are just too small and finicky.
For sure. I just got that as my "beginner" stove. Looking at Winnerwell and Promoly actually. Probably next year.
I picked these for my ram rebel because it is one of the only few white letter m/t’s on the market.
Nice! How are they on a big truck?
@ I just got them Thursday. But So far they ride good and are a lot quieter. Compared to the badly cupped set of duratrac’s that was on it.
@@Yaktaco nice! Just make sure you rotate them every oil change and you should hopefully avoid cupping. What size did you put on?
Forget the tires, this should be a commercial for Ford showing the capabilities of the Bronco. Tough platform.
haha. I'll be making a video of the whole trip in a few weeks. This was pretty much from the first day to our camping spot.... the next day didn't go so well haha. For the bronco. Tires held up fine.
Great video, love seeing them on this trail. But what I really want to know is how it compares to the Interco Super Swamper Radial and the BFG KM3. Those are the tires to beat.
My buddy in the Jeep behind me had the KM3's. Hard to say which one performed better as it was @#$@ terrain for both haha.
Good gawd, that bronco sounds neutered. Horrendous. Great vid tho, thanks!
That's because it is neutered! I did an exhaust delete so I could hear the revs better when shifting (manual)... There's just no making a 4 cylinder sound good...
Greetings from Pontassieve, province of Florence, Italy. What tires are most commonly used in your area for driving on uneven terrain, in mud and snow? Do you use M+S all-terrain tires or M+S mud-terrain tires?
Greetings! It depends how hard of trails you are going to run. On our 4 door bronco we run All terrains (Duratrac RT) and on my 2 door bronco that is used for harder extreme trails, I have the Boulder MT's now, Mud Terrain.
😂😂😂 just dealy backround music...like a fighting a boss in a game 😅
It felt like a boss fight!
Now take those very same tires on snow and icy covered roads in temperatures below freezing. You'll be in ditches more than on the roads. I guess it's good they work well going 2mph in mud.
Well, they don't call them a Mud Terrain tire for nothing! Now take a winter tire through that trail and you'll make it about 2 feet....
I would bet they Suck on Snow and ice Covered Roads.
They are great in snow. Ice is ice, and these perform as you'd expect a mud terrain on ice.
@NorthShoreBronco there is a difference when it comes to ice on mud and snow on dirt and mud. Versus ice on pavement and snow and slush on pavement... I had Mickey Thompson Baja Boss's on my truck. They were Three peak rated tires. They worked great off the pavement everywhere. But, they sucked on snow and ice covered Roads. Faulken Wildpeak AT4 are the tire to shine everywhere..
They all suck on ice and snow one drive on dedicated winter tires would show that 3peak snow ratings are gimmicks where they barely add silica to the tread compound then call it snow rated
@ of course an All Terrain tire will be more balanced as an all arounder. Only get a Mud terrain for OFF Roading. I even mention at the end of my video to look at my review of the Duratrac RT all terrain tire if you don't need something as aggressive.
@@2-1inffwa97 3 Peak ratings are marketing B.S. made up by the tire industry to charge more for a tire. There is no government or third party testing to verify any of this. Essentially a 3 Peak rating has to be 10% better than a reference tire which is tiny in size AND is kept secret by the tire industry.
Wish those broncos had a coyote in em
I wish they could make the Turbo'd engines sound like the Coyote's.... I have more than enough power with my little 4 cylinder... but the sound would be nice.
Also you can find a used outback wilderness with less then 40 miles for under at least half if not a third of the price if a used bronco.
Out of all the mud terrains I’ve tried, I’ve never been more impressed than with KM3’s. If they are better than KM3’s in any aspect I will be surprised. Not being biased because I really don’t care for BFG but they are amazing on road, ice, dirt, gravel, mud and snow. Solid 9/10 and it only gets 9/10 because they don’t last forever
Well my buddy in the Jeep behind me runs a new set of KM3's. Will make sure to compare them in my long time review.
@@kevin_the_astronaut4749 i just installed those 39” KM3’s a few weeks ago on the Jeep you see in the video. So far there’s already a few people in this comment list that says the KM3’s are the best they’ve had or seen, so i’m happy to hear that cuz at 1150$cad a pop, i really wish it was a good choice LOL! But like buddy said, we’ll see in future videos how they perform in our terrain type we have here and if we can get some damn snow already i’m really looking forward to drop them bad boys to 3psi and crawl my way everywhere
Ah Goodyear, the company that told their employees to “be less white.” 👎
KM3 is the best looking mud tire and everyone else has been playing catch up for 8 years imo .. looks like they have copied a lot. 🤫
@@texasbradley i have the KM3’s on the Jeep in the video and they do look killer i agree with ya there! But i was still very impressed by the Boulder MT’s . Really nice looking / performing tires. I’m on 39’s but if i was still in the market for 37’s i would concider those for sure.
Has it been 8 years already since the KM3 came out? Wow, time sure goes by fast. Yea, this is the first real Mud terrain I've seen from Goodyear. As for copying? They are all round and black haha. Styling comes from the Duratrac.
I see some similarity, I guess, but most mud tires have a lot in common anyway
@phild9813 The KM3 is the side lug trendsetter and overall birth of aggressive modern sidewalls. GOAT
@phild9813 but let's not forget about the Thornbird lol
I’m not a ford guy but I like that thing how the hell do you keep the cv joint’s from breaking with those big tires? Seem to take the abuse well
@@bcbrando7678 well..... Funny you should mention that.... I did break a shaft in that last shot haha. Will talk about it in the next video.
@@bcbrando7678 he doesn’t keep them from exploding…trust me hahaha
@ thought I herd a snap hahaha 😆
It's not so much the tire size as it is lots of wheel spin and suddenly grabbing traction. Tho generally there's a good margin of safety in them. For the bronco I definitely wouldn't go larger then a 37 on stock axles
@@D41Michigan the problem with this particular set up is the lift kit. It’s a puck spacer lift on top of the oem coilovers. Even tho it has diff drop brackets and all, the amount of down travel it has with oem coilovers and added 5” on top of it makes the axle angle waaaaaayy too steep at full droop. The axle almost pulls out of the axle cage and it just shreads it to shit. This is his 3rd axle, and for 2 of them i was there, and it was in that trail, and everytime that suspension comes down quickly do to a high shock rebound and with a lot of throttle / wheel speed, she grenades. I’m pretty confident that even on 33’s it would still happen just cuz of that. I agree with you with the grabbing traction, but in both of these cases, it was on snow and ice, so now much traction there. Just a slightly off tune set up to do that particular action.
As a fellow canuck how do they perform on road with ice/snow,oh and I don't think most will get the Quote of "like you fed them after midnight" lol.
Haha, yea I know, but those around our age will get it, and that's ok with me. Great on road, amazing in snow. As for ice, not bad, but it's a Mud terrain...... Just gotta be careful.
It shouldn’t make a difference but do you think that your winch not working is because it’s positioned lower than others and could be spending more time in water? Just curious.
Haha, 100% the reason why. That's why I cut to the clip of me drowning it after I said that 😂
@@NorthShoreBronco That works! How were they in the snow?
@ Really good in the snow! On ice, well, they are a Mud Terrain tire....
Dope video. Another 2dr owner here, I will be looking into these
You're gonna love 'em!
Those were quite impressive
Thanks!
bro really put em to the test
I sure did! And they held up great!
The Bronco is badass I love ours!
It sure is!
Now THAT’S how you test a mud terrain!!! Your badlands is a beast, that trail was no joke! Thanks for the great video man
Thanks man! It was a blast!
Any plans to install amber lights to match orange accents?
I have some in the garage..... What I need is time...
Hey bro, have you tried the Firestone MT02 or the KM3? Those are my current baselines but looking to maybe try the Boulders in a year.
The Jeep behind me was running KM3's. He loves them, but was pretty impressed with how the Boulders did! I ran one set of the firestones, they were great in summer but turned to ice pucks in the winter.
@@applebitefool the KM3’s have great on road manners i find. More rounded then the Nitto’s i had before ( which i loved btw ) so it’s a bit smoother on road. Little more sway but great comfort as far as mud testing i haven’t done a whole lot yet ecxept that run and lets be honest, no tires performs great in that shit LOL
It's a good video, don't get me wrong BUT__ It looks like they really struggled! I mean, those SUV's have lockers. They look nothing like the duratracs at all!
I can 100% tell you that they did a fantastic job. There is not a single tire out there that will perform well in that kind of shit. Trying tk break thru 6-7” of ice in some places and climb on top while keep traction is pretty much impossible. Lockers don’t really help in that stuff either , but to each their own oppinion. I was impressed and if i was running 37’s, that would be high on my list for a tire.
@@038Landry Why did ya have to back up and hammer down multiple times? I mean, they did great____ Do they make them in a 265 60 20?
@@wildfun4279 cuz he had a 4 foot wall of ice in front of the Bronco is why he had to back up and hammer down multiple times. Hard enough to get moving when you have blocks of ice 3 feet wide slowing you down. I’m not sure what size they will make them in, @northshorebronco might be able to chim in on that.
Smallest is 295/60R20
what size are they?, lift, great video, brutal
37x12.5R17 ! It's a badlands with a 5 inch lift!
Dude! Good video! That looks like a fun trail. You embody the “As slow as possible, as fast as necessary” mentality. I love it!
