Roslyn Estates, Roslyn Village was heaven when I was a child and teen in the 1960s and 1970s. That was my parent's house. They and that life are long gone. $65,000 for their custom 5 bedroom, 3 full bath house on 1/3 acre. HEAVEN! But my parents were INSANE!

Don't move to Long Island except for university or if ur very rich. Its expensive and the jobs here pay awful. But the universities are top tier and if ur rich its super segregated, you won't have to see poor people except when they serve you. The infrastructure was setup so busses can't easily transverse the island to prevent poor people from getting around.

As someone who was born and raised in New York City and been to Long Island my entire life. Even though I don't live in New York State anymore, this is the most informative video about Long Island I've seen. I now know that taxes on Long Island vary by community.

Folks, stay far away from Long Island and New York State all together. Nothing but high taxes, horrible traffic and angry drivers. It's a complete mess. The state is out to get you and will make you pay for its complete mismanagement. The LIRR is an expensive disaster of a train as well. The cops will pull you over every chance they get and you will be in court once a month for bogus tickets.

I’ve lived on Long Island since 1996. My wife grew up here. We both have a lot of pride living here and raising our son here, but if you’re going to try to sell yourself as a TH-cam wannabe the least you can do is spell your own hometown correctly - kind of takes away your whole credibility - just saying smh

There are four counties on Long Island - Nassau, Suffolk, Queens and Kings (aka, Brooklyn). Yes, Queens and Kings are now considered part of New York City, but they are geographically on Long Island.

Lifestyle is one word. Long Beach is a city, not a town.

People are rude in the northeast. While king island is beautiful, and doesn’t have the terrible crime and smells of manhattan, it’s the respect thing for me. So I went from Chicago to Vegas to San Antonio to Houston Texas. In the South, the people are AWESOME. But hey, to each their own.

The school district in East Northport is Elwood, not Half Hollow Hills. It's a small school district, and the high school (John Glenn) earned a blue ribbon last year. You enter Northport once you cross Pulaski Road, and 25 a is not Jericho Turnpike but Fort Salonga road. Pros..great schools, no traffic, very safe, convenient, close to transit, the beach, restaurants, pet friendly, and nice people. Cons... no sewer, slightly higher taxes. It's definitely way better than Massapequa.

I moved away for the similar reason; Moved from Suffolk to LIC for 2 years with my wife. We had a blast being so close to bars, restaurants and NYC. Also allowed me to level up my career so much faster! Now we're ready to come back and settle back into suburbia. 100% don't regret it for a second! I also agree with your point about attitude; NYers are kind but not friendly lol

Went there last year’s summer. Visited Jone’s beach, Robert Moses, fire island, and Montauk. It was such an amazing trip!love all the places in Suffolk county. Wanna settle there hopefully soon!!🤗❤
