hey Joey, just wanted to say thanks for posting this video. I started to study for the CPA around the summer of 2024. First part of the exam is going to be AUD, and the Becker mock exams made AUD feel impossible, especially with the task based simulations. Genuinely appreciated the fact that you mentioned that it's better to have your own assessment of how the exam is going to be like. I needed that. Unlike you, I definitely feel a few retakes happening for me lol, but extremely belated congrats on getting your CPA
Hey Francis, thank you so much for the kind words and I'm glad some of what I've said resonated with you, because yeah getting that first exam taken is so helpful. And yeah maybe you will need a retake or two but that is so common so there's no worries about that. Just keep the positive attitude and the hard work and you will certainly be successful. Good luck with your studies! Wishing you the best!
Have you heard any recent news regarding the 120 credit requirement for the CPA in 2025 from the 150 credit? How do you think it’ll impact the Us accounting Job sector in the coming years?
Obviously CPA exam has been a pain in my ass that won't bother me any longer I have gotten my license already thanks to you Mr Dylan God bless you more cuz you made it possible for me
People keep talking about Dylan all over TH-cam,he must be a very awesome help.
Yes you're correct but remember heaven helps those who help themselves, try studying if you can't study then get yourself a good help
I studied for months and couldn't pass, I guess passing is a blessing
CPA exam might seem so tough to pass but studying very hard is a very vital skill to win trust me.
Everyone has their own way, Dylan worked for me and studying didn't .
Passing the CPA exams is when you study hard,if you can't study or you don't have time for your studies I'd advise you get yourself a help like Mr Dylan

Yes consistency is the key rather than intensity.
100%
I was also told whenever you take a mock exam to wear the outfit you plan on wearing. Even as far as eat the same breakfast etc.
yeah that is true! You want to replicate your actual exam day as much as possible
May I ask which tools are useful for accounting professional? I am about to graduate with a degree in accounting. Learned Power BI. Alteryx . Wonder what else I shall learn to be adaptive to the new environment
to be honest those are the big 2. If you know those you will be very useful. I have not really had to use anything else other than IDEA. But that's such an old software its being phased out so don't even worry about that.
I feel like Im about to fail my corporate reporting exam tomorrow, at least I got this right :)
good luck! whatever happens keep your head up and move to the next one!
Where can we find them. Thanks

With all the outsourcing and ridiculous pass percentages for far and audit, it is really discouraging to study for CPA.
yeah there are some issues with the industry but overall it is still a huge bonus for your career to get your CPA license.
If you’re having difficulties studying/passing your exam I advise you to get a help like Prof Dylan

Nice!
Thank you Joey!
no problem Henry!
I’m gonna be graduating with a 2.5 gpa. Is that too low to succeed on this field?
Hey Stanley, you won't be able to get a job at a huge firm but you will be able to find a job. And once you secure your first job then no one will ever ask about your GPA again. They will only care about your work experience. And if you're able to get your CPA as well then you will be set up for success. Good luck!
Studying for FAR right now 😅
Good luck! You got this!

Great Video, like always. I will use these tips once I am able to take the exams!
Thank you Joey. I really appreciate your support man.
If I may ask, im going to be laid off around Febuary March. The past two years I earned a cert in accounting at public uni. Which now qualified me to sit for the CPA. I dont have much guidance on what i should do with that. I do want to pursue a career in tax acxounting but dont know if i should try to get a masters in it or just now just try to pass the CPA. Im 35 and trying to invest in a totally different field like information systems that places like deloite desire doesnt seem realisitic or something im really capable of. Id rather just be competent in tax. Im trying ti just get my foot in the door as an entry person in this industry. Any thoughts is truly appreciated. Thank you for this video!
Hey, I would say between a Masters in Tax or going for the CPA, the CPA license will serve you better. For a few reasons. 1) It will cost less money 2) It will be more flexible (easier to stay working or find part time work while doing CPA as opposed to masters) 3) CPA differentiates you more. It means more than a masters in tax and will give you more leverage in the future. 4) Many places like Deloitte or other accounting firms won't let you get promoted to a certain level unless you have a CPA license. For all those reasons I think CPA is the way to go.
You're the only person I've seen who emphasizes how important it is to take your first exam as soon as you're ready. I 100% agree with that because I remember before taking FAR, there was a ton of pressure and would always tell myself how bad I'm going to fail after getting destroyed by MCQs. A lot of that pressure went away once I saw what I was actually up against. Passing it was the biggest confidence booster for me.
I love to hear that. I felt the same exact way and that's the reason I try to push that point so hard. I'm glad you experienced the same!
Thank you for your motivational video.
Of course! Thanks for watching!
I love your videos, you have a cool and humble demeanor. I am within a year and a half of achieving my Bachelor's in Accounting through Southern New Hampshire University. I am always happy to hear your views as they relate closely to my initial fears and expectations. I use your videos to help me understand, and stay focused on, the reasons I chose accounting. Thank you for your time! Keep up the good work, I will be watching! 😜
Hey Landon! Thanks for the kind words. I really appreciate the support. Good luck with your studies!
How will AI impact the accounting career? Currently in college and deciding if it worth the risk with AI? Any suggestions for undergrad students?
I think AI will impact accounting in the sense that it will automate tasks and free us up to do more useful things. Accountants understand business better than anyone else so they will always have value in some form (even if AI changes how they are used). The bigger issue right now is with firms outsourcing work to low cost countries. That is more of a threat than AI rn. At least at public accounting firms.
Why is there no resistance from Qualified CPA’s against this outsourcing?
Great video! Just curious how were you able to do all the 150 credit hours in 4yrs? I am think about going to school for accounting but I'm worried about fulfilling the credit hours. Since most majors just need 120 hrs and I don't want to spend more money and time in school.
Hey, yes this is a very fair fear. The 150 credit rule is pretty dumb and something a lot of people are trying to get rid of from the accounting industry. The way I did it was by using some of my AP credits from high school to count as college credits. If you passed an AP exams in HS you can use those credits. I also took a couple of community college classes during the summer just to make sure I hit the 150. Those are easier (as they can be on any topic, even underwater basket weaving) and they are far more affordable than a whole extra year at college. If you do those things you should be able to hit the 150.
Thank you for the videos. Great insight
of course! Glad you enjoyed!
@ I am in my Senior yr and strongly considering audit as the field I’d like to pursue. I look forward to watching your other videos as I have had a hard time visualizing exactly what it looks like to be an accountant. Thank you for putting out this content and keep it up for us who see the value in this material!
Accounting is more like detail oriented.
it is a detailed oriented profession for sure
Man, learning consolidations is not for the faint of heart lol
fr dude
The only problem is I took business law and tax like three years ago so I don’t remember anything. But I’m taking audit now, so hopefully that’s helpful.
yes it will help. And regardless your CPA review course will prepare you well for the exam.
Were you working
I spent some time doing the exams while I was unemployed, part-time employed, and full-time employed. So I experienced it all
Thank you so much, this is helping me a lot, I am about to have an interview in a few hours and i am glad to hear about the attitude.
Oh so glad to hear this was helpful! And good luck with your interview. Just be calm and confident. You'll do great!
Hours?
the AICPA says it takes 80-100 hours for each section of the exam but I did much more than that. I studied way too hard. I think 80-100 is far more reasonable
@@JoeyCPA how many hours did you take?
Why does he look AI generated…
Haha great camera quality maybe?
That was only 4 and number 3 is paycheck..?
sorry...
@ no worries
Love reading books, it has been something that I picked up more recently :)
yes same! Reading is such a joy!
Jesus christ is lord and king. He is the only way to heaven.
I meant to tell you that my Becker EDR was below 46%.
did you pass still?
@JoeyCPA No.
@JoeyCPA There is a definite causation and correlation between graduation and passing the exam. If everyone who goes into accounting is expected to be licensed then colleges and universities should only teach to pass the exam.
If you’re struggling to pass / study I advise you to get a help like prof Dylan
