    Star Wars is going in the same direction as MCU. It’s like they are expecting people to know everything from the shows in order to understand the film. And yes just the same, from a story 20 years ago. When it comes to Star Wars, I keep up with all the movies and films, but with the MCU it’s been rather rough for me to keep up. I do know people who it’s been rough to keep up with Star Wars as well. If you don’t know one, it can be hard to follow another. It might be better for them to keep different storylines, but seems like they are creating somethng they might feel “We can get people to watch all these shows and films.” It seems like it’s a Disney thing, but I suspect that others do the same as well. Back in the days (and when I mean that it was even 10 years ago) you had only a trilogy to follow and it was easy to follow if picked up in the middle or last film, just go back and watch a 2 hour film. But now it’s like they are making you watch several entire series in order to understand one film. Given that there is so much streaming out there, this might not be a good idea because they will lost causal fans.

      @bend316 7 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      Yeah Star Wars tv wise is definetly feeling the same thing. not so much with going blending tv and film stories, but moreso their TV shows are require too much knowledge to keep up. I remember my buddy enjoyed Ahsoka, but decided to stop after episode 3 because it required too much knowledge of the entire rebels series and it wasn't accesible to new viewers at all

    AI has gone out of hand. It’s scary on how it’s dominating in all forms of art. When we composers saw that it can compose, that just really took the shake. How can an AI replace an artist? And no matter which direction I look, there is AI. Hasn’t society learned from the reimagined Battlestar Galactica? I really am in this with you where I am tired of it. Nothing can truly replace the human mind. By the way, Metropolis is a great film. Cancel culture definitely exists, we could sit here and name people celebrities and non-famous people who have lost their careers because of their political views for hours. The difference is that Mel Gibsons name is still worth money because ppl will watch his movies because they are either fans or he’s a good enough director that he can make good movies. But we could just as well make a video called “(insert person) proves cancel culture exists” because we can all think of people who were successfully “cancelled”

    I dunno...look at the commercials for Flight Risk. "From the Academy Award Winning Director of Braveheart, Apocolypto and Hacksaw Ridge" Ummm...you mean MEL GIBSON? It's not like he's not a household name. You don't see Speilberg's name being buried under "From the Director of E.T. and Raiders of the Lost Ark". I think we both know the answer... I also reject the premise that "we all know who directed Braveheart". Sure, us film buffs do, but "everyone"? I am glad you brought up this point about gaps between seasons. As someone who loves to explore the history of TV Shows, I’ve seen this difference between the changes from broadcast vs. streaming. Once upon a time in the golden age of TV, shows had 30 or so episodes per season and up until maybe a decade ago each season was from one year to the next. But now, it’s all changed with the streaming TV Shows. The last of the sows I watched that were one year after the other were the CW Super Heroes and Riverdale. It was enjoyable but as I have noticed episodes of seasons got less and less as production values got better. I appreciate that, but I wanted to see more. Then the big change happens. I loved the reimagined Lost In Space (as I love the original) and I was getting impatient until the next season. Now it’s all that way. We see such long gaps, to the point that as you said we need a recap of the last season. Another factor with TV Shows now is that there is way more out there. Once upon a time there was only 3 networks and Fox coming in around the 90s. It’s like which do you choose and which do you not. Additionally, I have friends who say “oh did you see this or that” when I didn’t know it existed because of the vast amount of shows. While that is great there are more shows, but as you said those working on these shows may not have enough work to make it sustainable. I have several clients who work on shows that have had second thoughts of the career and moving into another career, especially after the writers and actors stroke. They love what they are doing, but they also need to have sustainable work. This is very sad as so many talent and so many great individual in the studios may end up leaving and as you said, who will replace them as they retire. Something that studios need to think about with the future of TV.

      That is true, there are several more shows out there now but due to the post strikes of 2024, we are in a current state of contraction as well so more shows will slowly die down. I'm especially worried too because of how much people rewatch shows. I do think that these next few years are going to be harsh on the tv industry in general and we'll see how it comes to be. Thanks for always watching and commenting btw!

    What do you think about the delay of Severance and other big shows? Let me know here!

    • @LibertyRapsher
      @LibertyRapsher 20 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I think it was circumstantial. There was the writer strike as well as the alleged strife between Erikson and executive-producer/writer Mark Friedman. I've watched enough interviews to gather that Friedman according to Erikson was not very comprising or collaborative. Erikson claims that he's fine with compromise, but at the very least he just wanted to discuss and work things out. At the same time I wonder if the whole thing wasn't orchestrated or somewhat in order to postpone production to a time in which Stiller would be able to assist in the process as well, since during the initial season 2 production he had other commitments. Also Severance laid out the most talked about and I would argue the best first season of a show in over decade... shows like this don't come around very often, so when you have one of the rare gems going into a season 2, hopefully a show doesn't screw it up by treating it like an assembly line NCIS production, so the last f**king thing I would ever do is criticize a show for taking a long time for quality reasons.. Of course an assembly line show is what most of the networks want... it's more about maximizing profit than the quality of the production and naturally that's how most businesses and people operate, however that can be short sighted... does that really maximize profits? Either way... the second season of this show is so vital because it's going to determine this shows future and it's staple in the Apple TV Network because they have one of the rare gems in their hands and I'm very thankful that they treated this delicately during that time. Therefore I don't think it's a good show example to use along with other shows that are taking longer in production or if something is going on in the production end that is delaying shows now. Ever since covid there definitely seems to have been a shift and shows are taking longer to get out, but the quality hasn't increased... they've gotten worse... so I have no clue why many shows have slowed down getting out seasons. For me it's a delicate area, because I don't want to incentivize assembly line show productions, so the complaint bugs me. I like the analysis as to what's going on, but the last thing i'd ever want to do is to put out a social pressure to make shows more generic by speeding them up, but I'm vary interested in the question you present and it's certainly worth exploring as to what's really going on. But... I'd rather a show take 5 years, then rush out a season (and a show could still go for quality and fail, but at least it's not forcing out an unfinished product). This isn't 1940, there's plenty of shyte to watch in the meantime.

      @@LibertyRapsher Phew this comment is a BEAST, ill try to respond to everything. Yeah im very curious as to what happened creatively as I heard rumors as well, but nothing has been confirmed so far so I don't want to entertain them all that much. As I said, I'm very happy that this show is able to exist and has been given the time in order to be as good as it is, but I don't think its sustainable so thats why I wanted to focus on greenlighting multiple seasons at a time that way they are always working on towards it instead of having such large gaps in between seasons for both the happiness of the audience and the working crew/writers. But I also think we need more procedurals and those 'assembly line' shows as you stated to help during these down times, as those shows often do better than these high quality streaming shows. I didn't want to go into that though because I go into that a lot in my previous video about Abbot Elementary and High Potential if you wanted to check that out. But there really isnt that much to watch and might get worse as production is very low right now as we came out of the strikes and studios are not sure how to handle streaming because they've found out its not that profitable as cable/broadcast.
