    50% of the information for this exam feels like an ad campaign for Cisco products and solutions. Are we expected to have URIs memorized? How much of it is write code to do this VS look at this code tell me what it’s doing?

    • @ChadEmery
      @ChadEmery 6 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I completely understand where you are coming from. I think the certification holds a valuable place more so for software engineers moving down into the network stack however execution of that could be better. The exam will challenge your memorization of URI and exact placement of payloads down to the key/value. Cool right? In the real world you will always consult the API documentation no matter how many times you’ve done it because things change. I will say this exam is more fair than the devcor. I took that at Cisco Live this year and will not attempt it again. It was way more intense on memorization of stuff you would always consult the documentation for.

    I'm curious of the Devnet certs across the spectrum (Assoc, Pro, Expert) being relevant. The skills needed to pass the exam are in-line with my career goals. However, the demand for this cert seems very lacking. I did a countrywide (US) search on Linkedin Jobs and nothing showed up!

    I’m going through nick russos excel sheet right now too.. that first pluralsight playlist of python fundamentals seems way more complex than I imagine for someone without programming experience. How much python experience/skill do you think I really need for devnet?

    • @ChadEmery
      @ChadEmery ปีที่แล้ว

      Great question. I did not watch that portion. Made it through roughly 5 videos and realized that portion was not for me. I substituted that with the devnet site which has a few beginner python things on there as well as various TH-cam videos. I do also have a background writing Python so I probably over did this portion. As far as the exam is concerned you should be comfortable with the basics. Import modules, venv, pip, functions, loops, vars of all types, etc.. If you understand all of that you will likely be fine to skip that entirely as I did. Once you got that down focus on the nuances of the cisco specific products and interacting with them using python. Hopefully this was helpful.

    Instead of print screen and paste into paint, just use the msft snipping tool and pin it to your task bar. When you make a snip, it automatically loads that into the snipping tool window. You can either leave it there, or another useful feature is copying and pasting the “snip” you captured into an email or onenote or somewhere else if you don’t have any other need for actually saving the image

I was wondering if you could share what your thoughts are about ENCOR vs ENARSI. Which one did you find more difficult?

    • @ChadEmery
      @ChadEmery ปีที่แล้ว

      Hard to measure the difficulty between the two because they both are focused on different areas. I’d say the Encor is slightly more difficult based on the amount of topics being so spread out where was ENARSI dives into more detail with certain things. ENARSI was by far more fun to tackle. Hopefully this is helpful to your question. If I could reverse time I likely would have done encore, ensld, then ENARSI.
