SHARP NORTH RIDGE SCRAMBLE - Tryfan, Ogwen Valley
มุมมอง 19K3 ปีที่แล้ว
A hike up the North Ridge of Tryfan , Ogwen Valley - Snowdonia. I started off this hike feeling awful and with zero energy, thankfully I had packed a bag of Skittles and this got me through the first slog of the ascent. With a heat wave well on it's way, the temperature and weather conditions weren't the best but it made for some great summit views! I hope you enjoy this mini vlog and subscribe...

That was quiet compared to when I climbed Snowdon on a clear day back in Spring.
like to see a passport office at the far end and make all illegals walk the path with a blind fold...
Lovely video, I enjoyed watching 😎
OEX do a Phoxx 2 which is a 2 person tent. I have one and it's perfect to get you and your rucksack inside. Go outdoors £80
Lovely wee video. I love ducks, those last two might have been safer with the hawks 🤣. Just kidding happy hiking 🥾
Loved it ♥️
Hi Kate great video the wild camping and caves looked awesome and the ducklings and sheep were soo cute 🙂
@@JoeBeech aw thank you so much! So glad you enjoyed 🏕️🌿
Banging ass in the thumbnail
great work Kate & Hayley...not an easy scramble in those conditions 👏👏
Really enjoy ur videos
Well done !!!!!
Such great weather for Crib Gosh, I can't be bothered with it even during perfect weather , crazy girls 😂
Great video Kate I'm a first time visitor and really liked it - I did Scafell a few weeks back on a real busy day. Thankfully I set off at 8am and were down by lunch but by 4pm there were still people setting off from the bottom!!
Amazing - looking forward to Part 2.
Great to see you back Kate Amanda - I really like this magazine format vlog you did.
Sometimes people are just concerned. Mainly because some people are not prepared for the elements. I wouldn’t take it personally, people just don’t want anyone to have an accident. Better to hurt someone’s ego than for them to potentially injure themselves or something fatal.
Why does that guy in the white T-shirt look like he’s doing all the work to move the tree? Seriously though, Kate I made a point to not watch this video until I uploaded mine so I wasn’t biased. But I love this. I focused a lot on the wildlife, and you captured more of the adventure. Incredible video and amazing insight. I really look forward to working with you again in Suriname. Cheers!
Beautiful short I love it up there❤
Very enjoyable video, such a lovely place to explore. I enjoyed your slate mine dive also, would love a dive there! 🤙💦
Why don't you find out about Islam. And you can compare the Quran and the Bible. In Islam, Jesus is a prophet, not a god. And God is one, not three.
Good effort doing lords rake in them conditions
Thanks, it was so much fun!
Awesome video the Lake District looks so very nice been there once but need to go back 🙂
Whiteout is challenging for the mind as much as trying to figure out where you are going and not about to step off a precipice! As you commented, you both had good gear. Wearing layers and having good quality wet weather gear is vital. I’m enjoyed your video from this weekend so I am going back in time to see some of your earlier footage. Cheers, Paul
Great post... Really enjoyed the variety and the vibe. You are such a beast for making short work of that initial brutal hike. 😧 Thanks for taking the time to share with us...
Great to see you posting again - really enjoyed your previous videos 😊
oy..! stop taking the pish out of blondes. Free Wangland....
Good morning to you both, Sunday evening here, south east Australia. As I'm not an Olympic Games avid watcher, I shall settle down for dinner and watch this video instead, cheers, Paul
Such a lovely comment, thanks so much Paul! I hope you enjoy it, and your dinner too! 😂☺
@@kateamandaexplores Will your PhD allow you to amass a fortune to purchase the William Mellor? I shall resume watching the remaining ten minutes of this film. By the way, that scree scramble descent looked very challenging and you certainly earned the hot chocolate. ☕️
Interesting re your research into deforestation! I did some on carbon sinks for climate change and due to the deforestation, the amazon is more of a carbon emitter than sink! Very sad. Glad you enjoyed your trip out there!
The research is sobering for sure, but it's because of this research that we highlight areas where we can help! We have to stay hopeful and keep working toward a better world, one day everything will change. Thanks so much for your comment, stay tuned for part 2 🙂
Is all that make up really needed whilst wild camping 😂
What a boring comment
Really nice campground, glamping site, luv it
@@violent_bebop9687 haha I wouldn’t call it glamping but it wasn’t too uncomfortable!
We thought you'd fallen off a ridge.... good to have you back and looking forward to these videos!!
@@d-jbradford1451 hahaha thanks so much!
So easy to forget these incredible places exist. Some of the wildlife / insects amazed me. What an adventure! Good to see a new video, Kate. Looking forward to the next.
@@matthewpatterson9184 ah thanks so much Matt! Glad you enjoyed it! Deffo more amazing creatures to come in the next chapters!
Just picking up on the keeping to designated footpaths comment you made, most of Snowdonia including where you were in this video is open access meaning you can walk wherever you wish and there's no need to stick to footpaths, walking off-piste actually helps lesson the erosion of the main paths, I'm a local fell runner and we tend to use the main paths as little as possible. Also where you were is known as one of the most haunted areas in the park, I think that's why I've never stayed in the bothy up there! I think it's still pretty easy to find quiet areas, where you are in this video is known as being a popular area for wild campers with the car park nearby, but the Carneddau has plenty of wild spots still, I find if your route involves lakes it's always going to be busier anyway, but lovely video, I'm also an artist and photographer so understand what you mean about lugging extra gear around with you, I have a few setups at differing weight and bulk levels depending on how I feel on the day!
Long time no see, Great video 👍🏻
@@mrlionrocks thanks so much!
Incredible experience! I can’t wait to see more!
@@katyjanedives thanks so much Katy 🥰🥰
Awesome Amazon adventure looks great fun looking forward to seeing the rest 🙂
Thanks so much! Yesss there are so many more amazing moments to come from this expedition, I can’t wait to share them all with you! 🌿🤍🦋
So your last video was one year ago where have you gone 🤔 my question is from 1 to 10 how difficult is the Northern Ridge of Tryfan....im Travelling From lreland to Wales to Climb Tryfan on September 7th
brilliant..well done.
You're beautiful
Have you ever traveled in Canada 🇨🇦? It's beautiful
I love your adventures 💕
Absolutely nothing wakes me up when I’m wild camping 😂 I’m aware until I’m unconscious. Great video Kate! well done
Ì did that jump once never again. North Ridge is hard.
What happened to these girls?
Actually a great video that, I've always said Tryfan is one of the hardest mountains to capture photographically and get the scale of it, but you've represented it brilliantly😎
Crib coch! Well done strong lasses.
mint stuff
What time of year was this? I Hiked it in prefect conditions and recorded it. I fancy a wild camp up there and will record it for my channel
Brilliant vid ladies, wouldyou recommend that ridge to a novice? Would love to do it some day!
Love the Ogwen valley,we stay in Capel Curig a lot, must get up Tryfan, on my bucket list! Great vid btw Amanda!!
