Does using starch shrink your fabric?

Wow! This was “sew” helpful to me, a new quilter! I wish I had known this when I made my first quilt. I’m almost finished with the quilt top on my second quilt and I used the Faultless Spray starch. What a game changer! My blocks had less fraying and they matched up nicely. The only thing I should have done was to starch the fabric BEFORE I cut out the pieces! Oh well, live and learn! Thank you for making this informative video. 😊

I think the one room should house just the fabrics and patterns. Having the 2 printers and even the Scale outside of the Fabric Storage Room. Shelly, I've been trying to decide what cutting mat to get. The 76"x 40" cutting mat either comes as You mentioned in 3 sections or all in one piece (which is rolled.) But people complain that it doesn't lay flat. Let us know what works out

What a wonderful blank canvas of a space! Is there any reason you need your office space to be in that separate room? If I had that space, I'd make your current office room into the shipping room and put your office out in the open space (as long as you had space for that). I can imagine your office in that corner outside the inventory room with your desk facing out into the open space.

Great space you have there! Don’t worry too much yet about possibly having more urniture than you have the footprint to put it all. The space will evolve as it gets defined. Can’t imagine how you’ve managed without a design wall!! 😮 definitely get that desk away from the wall! That train and your lovely space will inspire you and keep you fueled while you manage the administrative work! I hope there are many enjoyable and fruitful years ahead in your space.

Cora, I am having to press seams open which I seldom do & they're being stubborn (not even close to flat). So you think it's safe to use Flatter (w/iron) on those open seams prior to quilt assembly? I did not apply any starch or Best Press on the fabric. Thanks, Cindy

Question for Shelley about the quilt. I waited for the arrival of your Secret Garden line to make the barn star quilt but I see your book lists more skus than my yard bundle has for the quilt, so what other skus or other collection would you suggest I add with it to blend well with your collection to make the sampler quilt?

Can I make the barm star quilt with a 40 piece fat quarter bundle with a few low volume yardage pieces for some backings? Asap

Hi, if I need to mix prewashed fabrics & unwashed fabrics, do you think if I starch the unwashed fabric, will it shrink them enough that I can mix them with my prewashed fabrics & not have it ruin my quilt when I wash it when it is finished? P.S. I think Faultless bought Niagara and have merged into one company. Thanks for sharing.

Spray on wrong side, turn over and press…..with water in iron or not?

So glad you posted this how to years ago & I found it when I needed it. I am working on a pattern that has incorrect directions for putting these together. After ripping apart 16 of them. I watched this, and presto perfect tri squares. Thank you for the detail you provided.
