    One of the things I like to do as part of my kid enjoy place is to make a copy of the pattern. I then make all my notes on this copy: fabric choices, lessons learned, changes, warnings and so forth. When I am done with the quilt I add quilting choices, who it was for, dates. I keep all the completed copies in my quilt journals.

    Came here from your FB page. I am looking forward to your Barn Star quilt along and Yuletide BOM. Very good tips, and I can say I do all of this except I don't starch. 😍

      I'm a big fan of the accuracy starching my fabric provides - definitely worth a try if you're game! :)

    Shelley I have a question. Does this video instruct us to cut all our pieces out at one time? I understand the need to prep the fabric by starching and ironing but cutting everything at once seems like a storage and organization nightmare! Thanks for clarifying.

      Hi Theresa - not necessarily. It really is up to you and what works best for your sampler projects.
      Typically, with block-of-the-month projects, I think it would be easiest to starch, press, and cut my fabric for the month. If you're working from yardage, however, you would probably want to starch all your fabric at once, and just cut what you need for each month.

    You mentioned in the video that you only use spray starch on the wrong side of your fabric. Am I correct?

    • @CorasQuilts
      @CorasQuilts  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yep! Spray starch from the wrong side and press from the right side, so the starch absorbs through the fabric, rather than just sitting on top!
