Thanks for the comment and feedback. I'll definitely try to incorporate more of the sounds of nature in my future videos. I intended to do that here but, unfortunately, my water bottle kept hitting my kayak during my paddling, making a repetitive thudding that drove me insane in editing. I tried to pick soothing lo-fi music to make up for it.

Have you been there before? The layout is so unique and the whole place is incredibly relaxing to explore.

We are definitely not one of those channels that tries to give out a lot of information or facts, similar to yours it's just documenting our experiences as a family and keeping them for our own home movies that are not those stereotypical cringy ones that you have on your VHS tapes 😂

I am glad you enjoyed the video! We were able to rent a vehicle for our trip, so cruising to any beach was really no problem. This resort doesn't have beach access, and finding parking in the down town areas of Kona can take some effort for those smaller beach areas. However, going to 2-step to snorkel or any other beach north or south of this resort was simple. Getting to 2-step took about 20-30 minutes, the Volcanos National Park was about 80-90 minutes I believe. But the drive is beautiful as it hugs the coast and mountains. There is a great beach/picnic area at the Old Kona Airport State Recreation Area (about 20 minutes away) that you should look into via Google Search. We BBQ'd there and enjoyed several sunsets.

That's so exciting! If the Rays restaurant is still closed, I strongly suggest getting take out from somewhere or ordering from the hotel and eating alongside the spotlight one night. It was such a fun experience! Have a great vacation!!

I'm not sure specifically what information you want for the Manta Ray dive, so please let me know if I missed the mark with my response and I'll try again! :) You can book Manta Ray experiences through various companies by searching Manta Ray Experience Kona on google or straight through the hotel (www.outrigger.com/) which is convenient because the bay used to access the dive is a 10ish minute walk from the hotel. The boat takes you out for a few hours. You have different timeslots available to do this starting just before sunset up to 9 or 10 pm depending on the company you book. Anyway, they set you up with snorkel gear and will provide a lighted floating buoy for you to relax and enjoy the experience. The lights from the boats and the hotel draw in the Manta Rays as they follow their food source into the illuminated spaces, so I would think night-time experiences would be the best chance to see these creatures up close! The Ray on the Bay Restaurant is set up on the Outrigger Hotel (Sheraton Kona) property, and you can watch the manta from the safety of the shoreline here if going in the water is not for you. :) Let me know if you're looking for anything else.

Hello and thank you for commenting! We were in room 1403, which is an ocean front room. I generally don't pay extra for hotel views, because my plan is never to be in the hotel long enough to fully appreciate it -- however, this view was spectacular and really contributed to a special stay. It was so easy to unwind and feel peaceful on that balcony at the end of every day. I hope you enjoy your stay if you book this hotel!
